Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Should be able to unload root through SuperSU, somewhere deep in their options.
At any rate, I am connecting this thread to the forum your device experts can be found:
> Xiaomi Redmi Note > Redmi Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Please note, to respond to replies, you will need to register for an XDA account.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

I am in the process of ordering the Verizon Galaxy Note 3 and plan on rooting it. It will be the first phone I'm rooting so a bit new on that but have been reading the forums to get up to speed on it.
A few questions:
1. Does it matter if I activate the phone then root it or root then activate it? I know rooting basically does a factory wipe so I want to root as soon as I get it to save me the hassle of needing to backup things I've done to the phone and then rooting later.
2. The threads I've read (not sure if they are outdated) states that rooting trips the Knox counter with the latest OTA from Verizon; is this true?
3. Is this the directions for rooting? The Universal Root De La Vega thread?

Thanks so much for the correct link.
Hi guys!
I am new to rooting and i have some questions and hope to find some answers.
1) Can Xiaomi Note 4G be Rooted?
- I have google and checked out you tube but i dont find anything that work for Xiaomi Note 4G
2) This is a little crazy and took me some guts to ask, Are we able to Install IOS on Xiaomi 4G after it has been root?
- I think everthing is possible and its only if we have found a way to do it.
Let me thank you in advance for reading my this. If you do know how to root Xiaomi4 4G i will really be thankful and appreciate if you can send me the link for the root file and instruction for rooting.
Thank you.

Yes, they are very different devices soc related.
If you are on latest miui v6,the only way to root is by flashing developer ROM version, a weekly rock stable version who brings root natively.
You can find that version on download section of en.miui.com look for you specific device.

Hi,
I just got a Redmi Note 4G through a friend in China, do I need to root it before able to sign in to Google account? Seems I am having trouble signing in. Apparently my friend told me China has officially blocked Google so is this the reason why I am not able to sign in because the phone has to go through Xiaomi server in China? I am using the phone in Singapore.
Thanks for your tips in advance!
I have a Global version, but installed China Miui v6, and able to login to Google, after installing gapps.

above link is for xiaomi redmi note 3G
doesnt work for 4G variant
Option not given
I have MIUI 6.6.1 and root permission not given what i do.
Install philz recovery!
Okay so here is the simple way that worked for me..
1.Download Philz recovery for Redmi note 4G(dior) zip. It is on XDa. Just Google "Philz recovery for Redmi Note 4G) it is the first link. Download the 'miuies' named file.
2. Open the updater app in your phone and in options select 'choose update package' and select the zip you downloaded.
3. The phone will go to recovery mode and install philz recovery.
4. Now again open updater app and select 'reboot to recovery.'
5. Now you will be on philz recovery. In the list of options there is an option to root the device. Tap on it and confirm it. Bingo! Rooted phone and you get Philz recovery as well which is a part of clockworkmod.
Hope this helps.
Also. As far as iOS install is concerned it will be way more complicated and not really worth it. For the look you can try the iOs theme in the theme store.
Dear all,
I foolishly updated to 4.4.4 and now am stuck with Note 3 on T-mobile without LTE. Does anyone know how to maybe at least temp-root it, or another way to get into Service Mode?
Thank you for all help ahead

Dude my son is with my wife. I will get her to send me a photo if possible. I have been a member of the XDA developer Community for years since the HTC Evo 4G. Trust me when I say my son's phone has the update to marshmallow it has. I did the update for him myself it has Android 6.0.1. The service provided for his phone is T-Mobile. Remember Alcatel sells this phone through AT&T Cricket line so I'm quite sure they have a real serious reason to update this model especially since it is now sold by a nationwide service provider.

You actually don't need root to install TWRP.
In order to root the Idol 3 we had to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and then flash SuperSU.

So, to get back to stock I only have to restore one of the stock backups in this thread through TWRP. Is it that simple or am I missing something?

Cool. Can you please kindly link me to the boot loader unlock?
Also, hopefully this new 6.0.1 didn't prevent the existing bootloader method from working!
sweet now we need a TWRP backup and bam!
Here is the link for everything http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-root-alcatel-t3161878 about unlocking bootloader
Was shocked when I saw it pop up on my phone around noon.
Any possibility of you getting the ROM backed up so we can try to flash it?

5.5 or 4.7 version of the phone??
encrypted device, any ideas?
So the update.zip gets downloaded fine, but since my device is encrypted, it winds up unable to be seen by the automatic updater or in recovery mode as the various drives are not visible.
Any ideas (other than a factory reset) on how to solve this?
Thanks,
Boo I have cricket so I guess I have to wait

Idol 3 Update MTP issues
I updated my phone earlier today and now it won't connect to my Windows 10 computer thru the MTP option. I even with thru the Developer and selected/unselected/reselected it and my laptop still won't see it. All I see is a file with drivers. I haven't rooted, and won't, my phone. Any suggestions out there on how to fix this? BTW when updating to Android 6.0.1 it made me format my SD card, so I lost all my music but thought it wasn't a big deal since I'd upload it back to my phone, but now I can't. I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks!
Daena
Hey guys, almost after 2 weeks of getting approval of unlocking bootloader, finally i was successfull today morning. Here's the steps i did:
Enable Find device option in mi account on your phone first and your phone must be connected to internet
1.Go to i.mi.com in pc/laptop
2.sign-in with your phone number registered to Mi and password
3.Again there will be sign in option, do it as above, it will send otp to your registered mobile number
4.input that and click on connected and check whether device is showing online. leave it as it is.
5.Now in phone, enable usb debugging and oem unlock from developer options and poweroff
6.hold volume down+power, it will boot in fastboot mode.
7.Now open MiFlashtool (run as administrator) and login using mobile number and password
8.Now connect your phone to pc/laptop, the unlock option will be active now.
9.Click unlock, that's it! no more 50% error
Hope this works for all who are still unable to unlock bootloader
BTW, i was on MIUI 8 Global stable rom while unlocking!
How long did it take to get approval? I just applied yesterday.
Aren't there multiple guides on same topic already?

I advise you to do not making any changes on your devices and mi account. so the device information would be the same as on their database.
10 days and still waiting. I'm no longer attracted to buying Chinese devices.
