I haven't flashed a android rom in magldr in maybe 6 months to a year, so I forgot. LoL
I load the zip build into my sdcard boot up to magldr, select 10. Services > 1. BootSettings > 3. AD SD Dir > 4ExtRecovery > Flash the zip build - but then after successful flash when I boot back into magldr and go to AD SD Dir the new rom folder isn't there at all. Selecting NativeSD fails too.
Really? Nobody cares to help... WTF? LoL
I know someones gotta be out there.
Yup I'm still fighting and getting stumped at this.
Which rom?
perhaps it is a nand rom and needs to boot from ad nand?
if latest macs18max rom, should be from ad sd and DirectSD folder

Just these and none of them are creating the "Android" folder anymore after a successful flash, I got close to lollipop until it rebooted in the middle of the bootscreen, but would really rather have Gingerbread MiUi for speed.

after flashing, are any other folders on your sdcard? eg DCIM, movies, music
maybe sdcard needs formatting https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
But they all look like nand roms, so need to be booted from magldr 3. boot ad nand
Did you partition the nand with the correct sizes from rom OP using flash.cfg?

I think the partitions might've gone bad from just sitting around for so long doing nothing, anythings possible.
No music or any other folders, so I guess I might have to start over from scratch again.
Thinking about it, you wouldn't get music etc folders until the rom boots, and you are not getting a rom to boot.
Agree, back to basics. Use flash.cfg to set up nand partitions for a particular rom according to the instructions for that rom. flash it. boot ad nand. profit?

Hi there, forgive my noobiness, I dont even have a Nook yet , but I want to be ready when I get it next Monday!!!
I burned the Phiremod_HC_Dual boot image to my sd (8gb Transcend class 6). But now I want to extend the 7th partition to use the remaining space.
Is there a link that explains how to do it? I have seen it referenced in a lot of posts in a very matter of fact way ("just extend the 7th partition with EASUS") but I have no idea how to do it. Can someone explain? Should the end result be that the 7th partition appears with a FAT32 label?
This is how it looks right now after I burned the img with Win32DiskImager:

The idea is to expand that last partition (the one labeled "sdcard") to take up the remaining unallocated space on the card. Since the sdcard partition and the unallocated space are next to each other (in other words, there is no existing partition in between them) it is no problem to expand the sdcard partition to take up the remaining 3.78 GB.
The usual advice is to use EASEUS Partition Manager, though as I don't have a Windows computer I can't personally vouch for the software. You should be able to simply right-click on the sdcard partition from within EASEUS and select "Resize". The rest should be pretty obvious.

Done! Well that was easy, thanks for the explanation!
So I have installed a good amount of ROM flashes that have you do a format of delete all cache.. blah blah you know the story. There are still files left over from previously installed apps. I think actually running a format on this would be a big problem, but is there anything I can do to truely get rid of everything that was not originally part of the setup before I flash again? After my latest flash, it looked like I was using almost 16Gigs of my internal SD card. Kind of surprised at that.
you may try this.. i copy from civato's post.
go to in recovery enter "Backup and Restore" and click on "Toggle backup and restore of internal storage (/data/media)"
should say enabled....
then go into "Mounts and Storage" and "format /data"
this will REALLY format data and you will loose all you have in the in the internal memory
Thanks, and I definitely tried that already. Instead of restoring some of my apps (winamp in particular) I downloaded them. The app immediately found my music files, which I did have to set it up previously to know they where on the external sd card. Also, a quick scan of the file structure, and I see .XXX folders that have names of apps that are no longer installed on this tablet.
I would have to say that this format was not a truely complete format, but please tell me I am wrong or did something wrong. I would love to get rid of all this junk and start over fresh.

The above steps only format Internal SD Card. Not Ext SD Card. Many apps keep info on Ext SD. There is an option to format Ext Sd Card, however, unless you really wish this, I would advise against it, unless you really want to clean everything. This includes all recovery backups. Most people, pull the card, copy their recovery folder and format from PC. Just to have backups.
You should understand the partitioning structure in android before messing with advanced features in CWM though.
MD
I appreciate your insight. I will take a screen shot of what I am talking about and post it here to be more clear.
Thank you.
Steps I followed from civato:

Here are some screen shots that should explain what I am seeing. The highlighted folder names are apps that I previously had installed, before the recommended format, and are no longer installed.

Based on those images, hopefully you will see that there is still data on the internal SD, that I would think should be gone after a true format of the machine.

That would be in the process preparing to flash a new rom, correct? I am guessing this because it sounds like that will erase the data I also wish to have on the tablet.
Okay i know there are already a few guides but I decided to to make another guide it is just a little bit different.
Warning this method is a little different so just read it once before starting to do this.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Minitool Partition Wizard
-WP7 Update Cab Sender
* First off you need to Flash WP7 on your phone once done you can continue to the next steps
Decide how many gigs you want for your FAT partition because the rest will be used for EXT4 and the WP7 partition.
example: ( If you have a 8GB sd and want to split it equally between and Android and wp7 using the 3GB cab will make the FAT partiton 3GB and and the 1 GB for EXT4 and 4GB WP7)
* After it boots install one of xboxmods cabs to resize the 200mb FAT partition
The new size will be the size of the cab the remaining space will be used for EXT4 and the WP7 partition.
Resize Cabs Here
* Once it reboots saying update was sucessfull go to Settng>About>Reset Phone.
* Let it restart and boot
* Once it boots and show the installation hold the power key and power off.
* Remove the microSD and put it in a computer run Minitool Partiton Wizard.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
* Delete the 2nd Partition
* Select that area (unallocated) and click create new partition.
* Choose Logical, Unformatted the size of this will be the size of your WP7 storage keep it towards the end, the remaining empty space in front of it will be your EXT4 partition just leave it alone for now and hit OK and then Apply Changes.
*. Put the microSD back in the HD2, power it on and do a hard reset ( when it shows 1,2,3 in MAGLDR hold vol up and down then do the factory restore (vol down)) .
* Continue with the Installation process and let it go to the homescreen .
* Once this is done power off your phone.
* Remove the microSD and put it back in the Computer
* Run Minitool Prtition Wizard right click the empty Partition in the center(EXT4) and click Create New Partition.
* Change Partiton type as EXT4 and Primary.
* Right click the WP7 partition and set as Modify>Partition set as Primary then hit Apply Changes.
* Once done put the microSD back in the Phone and power it up.
And that should be it you can copy your Android stuff to the fat partition by putting ur microSD in the computer or just connect using Zune you should see your phone and in it two storages one your FAT and the other the WP7 one.
If you copy files to the FAT you should be able to access the in WP7 using Filemanager (so you can view pics you took in android) .
If you have any questons or confusions about one of the steps let me know.
Thanks to xboxmod, dxdy & many others who i got info from and forgot sorry. ( If I used something from you let me know)
I'll try this tomorow!
Check all partition "Primary"
That's it work. but should be check all partition "Primary" :good:
Is it possible to resize the boot partition of the stock nook boot partition to make use of SDCARD partition 4 on a 16 GB card that is used for stock nook on sdcard and having cm7.2 on internal? As in, Is it safe to do so?

the reason i want to is so that I can make use of the space for videos/movies and other data like TB backups.
also, on another question...is it possible to revert the cm7.2 to the way it was from installation (without other user apps, so a fresh install without actually having to reinstall the rom?). The 7.2 rom is on the internal data (EMMC).

Yes, you can achieve what you want, but not by messing with the partitions on the SD. You do it by changing a setting in CM7.
Go to my NC tips thread linked in my signature. Look at item B3 in the second post of that thread, "Using the same SD media...". It tells you how to use that big partition 4 with CM7 on internal.
And as far as starting clean with CM7, that is easy too. Just load CWM recovery either by internal recovery or by bootable SD to 'wipe data/factory reset'. That will clean all your apps and settings so that it is like a fresh install of CM7.2. Your ROM is not touched. If you don't have CWM, you can get that from my tips thread too.

awesome Thanks for the help Leapinlar.
Okay so I've already got a WP7.8 rom installed then reset the phone and entered magldr then split up the partitions properly to be ready for android, then just in case I created an ext4 partition (3 partitions now), butttt now suddenly my card reader won't detect the fat32 for android and in "OTHER" threads about a rom and given "SOME" directions "PEOPLE" won't answer me and just drop off the face of the earth leaving me hanging, THANKS A LOT REAL HELPFUL, so what do I do next also how do I access the ext4 partition in windows to place the recovery files...
Never successfully done this when I originally had a hd2, now that I got one again I wanna try and successfully do this, so all steps and help is appreciated, but please don't just post a link and say follow the steps, cause then I'll have to keep track of and follow 2 more threads and who said what where, so if anything post the proper steps here, that's why this thread is titled starting fresh, cause well lets see most of the tutorials are a few years old on top of it all too.
Is this correct so far? If so I can't figure out why I suddenly can't access that 12Gb fat32 partition.

Or this starting all over again so I have access to the fat32 partition.
the first (top) partition must be fat32
the second is ext4
the third is your wp7 partition
all set to primary
the second screen setup shows up on pc because the first partition is the only one windows can see.
the sd recovery folder is put on the fat32 partition, not the ext4 one, along with your android rom.zip
you then use magldr ad sd dir to select the recovery folder, and boot ad sd.
People have lives other than on xda, it is holiday period too.

I got a pretty successful duality going right now, AlphaLion WP7.8 and MIUI JellyBean 2.8.24 even extended data.ext4 to 1.05Gb's with Toporesizer...
Second part being what I was talking about and missing all along the simple copy, paste, set and boot type's of rom's.

If you are using data.ext4, then you are using the sd build (all on fat32), therefore no need for the ext4 partition. If you have created the ext4 partition, i would suggest you install the sd recovery and flash the nativeSD rom. it is sometimes better to re-format the ext4 partition from recovery before flashing, since minitool formatting of ext4 can give problems for some people.
