I had a look through the list of general LG G4 threads, and there didn't seem to be a general Android Marshmallow opinion thread. (There was one related to the official Marshmallow update, but it seems to have gone a bit stagnant.)
So that's why I've started this one up. What are your thoughts and opinions on Marshmallow 6.0 for the LG G4? This is for any version: whether you've flashed an official KDZ, or you updated via OTA, or you're running the Genisys ROM or the S3v3n ROM or an AOSP build. What's good and what's bad? There's also a poll you can vote in.
Hopefully Sprint will be updated to marshmallow first in the United States

I think it's usually about the same as yours, I can't use last night as a reference because I had it on charge. I'll see what it's like tonight.

You guys talking about standby on marshmellow or lollipop cuz im on lollipop and the battery drains same as yours overnight.
We are in the Marshmallow topic..so what do you think we are talking about?

Marshmallow does include that new battery-saving feature called Doze, but I have no idea if it's included in the G4 version of Marshmallow. If it is, the likelihood is that most apps haven't yet been updated to take advantage of Doze.
And how fast the Marshmallow is, comparing to Lollipop?

I'd say performance (on stock) is a reasonable improvement, and running the 7 HD ROM and Nitro X Spark performance mod it's even better.

Hi guys, I have some problem with the new MM modem.. Radio signal is really poor and sometimes I have no signal at all.
Anyone experienced this kind of problem?
Can someone provides Lollipop modem zip to flash just to try to come back and see if it solves the probelm?
Thanks!

I'm wondering if there's hardware problems. The 1st phone I got on Friday had lags and heated a lot. On Sunday the screen started flickering badly and I took it back to the CPW and got a replacement. My new one has been fine and generally lag free and doesn't heat up badly.

Anyone here can tell me what issue am i having. Currently using a LG G3 f400s, updated to f400s10g. Well in my country the telco i am using is giving me some problem on my LG G3. The telco support lte but when i use on my G3 the data signal seems to be fluctuating, meaning to say suddenly while FB the line cut off, gaming it takes a few time to login (online game), app store takes a few click only can download apps. The same telco sim card using on my M8 doesn't give this problem, only on my G3. Would be helpful if anyone can advice on this issue. Thanks:cyclops:

Hey guys!
I can install an Brazilian version on my LG G3?
Came from korea f400s10g
Tks
Great update
As of the update I have been getting WAY better performance (also running on ART) better battery, and not only that.......It has no effect on ROOT as i rooted with Super SU by just installing binaries and moved it to system apps and it is still there with no problem. I tried Towelroot on 10A didnt work but if Super SU worked im guessing Towel root will too.
Take care.

Have you installed a ROM or a different Kernel?
So far my record was 9 days, yup, you hear it right 9 days. It was only sms and call use but still I haven't heard about such thing from anyone with any device (ofc android). But mostly I'm charging it once per 5-7 days since I bought nexus 7 2013, so as for anyone who are looking for for durable android phone - jackpot and bullseye in one time.
Oh, don't believe ? Here are screens made just seconds ago -
Click to view 3 screenshots from standby time, on screen and overall.
It says - 9 days left / 3d 19h standby time (last charged) / 42m on screen time. Also there was few calls, few sms and quick web browsing (most of screen on time). So... maybe 10 days these time ?
My Lg g pad supports almost a week with 15-16 of sot
You'll never get rid of it? 5 yrs from now? Yeah, I had a moto g and battery life was good. But I'll take performance and size (nexus 6) over battery life any day. But hey, that's just me.
I get a phone to have fun with, not to see how long I can go without charging.

I've got a OPO but the Moto G is a still a great device to mess around with. but like you say I'd rather have performance over battery (up to a point that is).

I know the Moto G is good, but you guys must never touch your phones.
Let it run to 0% battery and then see if you're singing the same tune
From my observations there is about a 1 in 5 chance of the eMMC being irreparably* bricked if the battery drops to the point of forced shutdown on any Moto G model (2013 or 2014)
*complete partition table loss, requiring the MBM-CI files which are still not available for Lollipop

Twice a day.... Top tip install greenify and enable the aggressive doze and doze on the go via adb feature(works on stock device's) all the information you need is in the greenify app in the settings. Makes doze kick in in ten minutes and works while walking ect.

just come from Sony support forum and it seems 33.2.A.2.93 may well have finally fixed it. Several users reporting a vast improvement, Though the biggest drain I've found is the background drain from WiFi and Bluetooth always scanning in the background on mm.
I also highly recommend you install greenify and enable the aggressive doze and doze on the go via adb feature in the options of greenify it works on totally stock devices and makes doze work more like stamina mode from lollipop it kicks in in ten minutes rather than a hour and works while walking ect.

You'll need to give it a few cycles to settle down after updating aswell it's impossible to update then without giving it at least two days to settle down claim that the update was useless to get the best possible results a software repair via Xperia companion would be better so it starts off with a clean install(software repair is like flashing a ftf via flashtool wiping clean the device) . Have you turned off the WiFi and Bluetooth scanning always available off in settings location tap the three dots top right. Go to settings WiFi tap the three dots top right click advanced and turn off WiFi scanning always available inc when screen is off(this makes WiFi act like on stamina mode on 5.1), go to data usage for WiFi and data and click on each and every app and turn off background data(this way avoids the warning triangle top left) really don't know what else to suggest, mine is more than acceptable on 35±73 firmware.

This update has definitely improved battery performance. Before stamina mode kicked in late afternoon (between 5 and 6 pm), but now I get a few more hours before this happens. Sometimes even until 11pm. So now I think the phone is pretty ok. Not as good as my previous phone, Xperia Z3 company that I unfortunately have lost. But acceptable...

Hey guys I just bought the Turbopower Pack mod for my phone but I still have Marshmallow and I don’t want to update to Nougat but the battery won’t work on Marshmallow. Was wondering if there was a specific app that makes it work like a new version of Moto Mod Manager or some sort of battery mod manager and if so can someone extract it and send it to me?
Easiest way to extract an app from your phone is File Manager from the play store go to apps and backup the app you’re looking for and it will back it up to a backup folder where you can email it or upload it to google drive or anywhere you want.
Thanks

While there is always a chance that things will go haywire when updating the OS, I'm running Nougat on my Z Force, and the battery life is incredible. Matched with the Incipio wireless battery bank, I can get up to 4 days of battery life easily. However, it's a function of maintaining a streamlined group of installed apps, and watching it closely. I have a couple of apps that I need, one is a bluetooth pet tracker, which I know burns the battery quickly. So, I just make sure when I'm done, I go to the app and kill it right away. But it's important to watch the battery usage list closely and see what's using the juice. I'm now 3 hours into my day and the main battery is at 98% and the Incipio is at 100%. By the end of the day, in Efficiency Mode, I'll probably be at 80% Main, and in the 80's% on the Incipio. However, I don't sit on FB or YT all day long, so your mileage may vary.
The point is, Nougat is supposed to be a more efficient OS than Marshmallow, all else equal. I would not reject doing an update simply because you are worried you might run into an issue. The majority of updates go fine. And, look into the battery mods - they are the greatest things ever.
