Can't seem to find these and wondering whether to use the settings for the 6?
Use the settings from the Nexus6 for the T-Mobile APN...
Use the default APN for T-Mobile.
If you accidentally messed with it then reset the apns to default in the menu of apn.

I edited mine to work for MMS and data. These are what you need to change/add.
APN Sytle: default,supl,mms
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
If I add dun to my apn will this hide my tethering usage?
No! If you want to enable the no tether check, you have to edit the build.prop.
So I found this and many other threads about APN settings on t-mobile while I was trying to fix my issue of not being able to send or receive MMS messages. Long story short, now even after restoring to default settings, I can't get a data connection back. I didn't look at what my APN settings were originally, so now am I screwed?

I've tried differnt APN setup on my HTC Legend, trying to get it to receive MMS messages. Due to my plan, the only APN will work is internet2.voicestream.com
i went to the apn setting and created 2 APN, one is T-mobile Data and the other is T-mobile MMS. The data works fine, however, the MMS is unable to download. I'm not sure which APN and MMSC to use. If anyone can get the MMS to work on Tmobile network in the United States, please let me know a solution. Thanks!
Hi i am having the same problem and would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in Advance!
and here's the two settings I tried (I set up another APN under the name T-mobile mms)
APN: internet2.voicestream.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg,eng,t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS Port: 8080
APN Type: MMS
I have the Speedtest.net app on my Nexus 4 and ever since I got the phone I can't properly run a test my ATT speeds. On Wifi it works great but when I turn off Wifi, Speedtest freaks out and it either gives me a very high ping around 260ms and the download is ALWAYS 0.01Mbps and upload stays around 0.5Mbps or sometimes it won't even connect and gives me error but I do get an IP and I can surf the web so it's not a connection issue.
I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like.
My main question is why can't it pick up a regular download speed? I never had this problem with my Galaxy Nexus.
Thanks
Probably the proxy settings in your APN. Remove those and you should be good. Post up the settings from the APN you're using if you're not sure what to edit.

Are you talking about the ATT APN settings?
If that's the case yeah, here is what it says:
Name: ATT WAP
APN: wap.cingular

Username: Not set
Password: Not set

APN type: default, supl, mms

APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable si grayed out but it's checked and enabled

Out of this what do I need to change if anything? And why should I since every other app has no problem accessing the internet but only this one?

Delete everything out of the Proxy setting. [Edit - you can delete the data out of the Port entry directly below Proxy as well]
I would guess that AT&T probably blocks or throttles this on their side to control bandwidth.
Yup, that did it, but wow I'm getting some really crappy results.. under 1Mbps
If your account is provisioned for HSPA+ you'll probably get better speeds using the phone or pta APN. There are a couple recent threads discussing this. I'll link later if you can't find anything.

you should get around 5-7 mbps, and MMS works correctly (both sending and receiving)
If these settings DO NOT work, then you need to call AT&T and have them upgrade your data plan to allow 4G! This will be free of charge.

No no no, don't do this or use those settings.
OP, you didn't mention that you are on a MEdia Net plan (dumb phone plan) and that is confusing the people trying to help you. Any time you mention cellular issues, you should specify the plan you are using.
Now, OP I can tell from your APN that you ARE on a MEdia Net plan. Next time, I would recommend you search the subforum for MEdia Net it will bring you to this thread, where the issue has been identified and resolved.
I posted on page 3 regarding the issue, which uses the same resolution that bedoig prescribed: delete the entry for proxy.
Now, being that you are on the MEdia Net plan, you won't be able to get speeds above 875KB/s down (7Mbps), even on HSPA+:15. AT&T apparently caps all dumb phone plans to that bandwidth. You won't get LTE and the phone/PTA APNs will not work for you. Those are smartphone APNs, so you should only use the default APN (which was automagically selected for you) but you can delete proxy to use bandwidth tests.
You could switch to a more expensive DataPro plan to get marginally faster speeds, but you'll be capped at 2GB/month and there's a chance you'll be caught tethering. I don't recommend you switch to DataPro for the very slight and unnoticeable upgrade in speed. AT&T doesn't monitor data use on MEdia Net plans so you can use well over 2GB on your current plan without issue. As I've mentioned in that thread and in several of my posts, I've once used over 12GB in a month; tethering for myself, my roommate, as our many guests because Comcast was being sheisty.
Now you've got all the info you need, and see that it was already available in another thread. I would recommend this thread for deletion because it adds clutter, not value. If people search for this answer, they will be linked to both threads.
Thats not necessarily true, my apn was originally the wap cingular one as well because I was using a nexus one prior, upon changing to the 'phone' apn, everything worked.
Depends how much the op is currently paying for data plan I guess if those settings don't work.

Well if it is going by plan, I have the grandfathered 'unlimited' plan and the APN settings seemed to work for me. Yup, 12Mbps down here!
I got another problem. Once I do a test and the speedtest uses GPS. GPS doesn't switch off and kills my battery unless I do a reboot.
I'm running AOKP, so it could be a problem related to that.
That's insane

Tmobile APN settings are at default as below:
APN: fast.tmobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: default,supl,mms
network protocol: ipv6
roaming : ipv4
only messaging app i have on the phone is hangouts. i made sure the APN settings there match the APN of the phone.
the one thing i have noticed is a majority of the people i'm having this issue with is Iphone users sending messages to me. if i fiddle with my APN settings and change them from dual mode, or straight v4 or v6 for my protocols i usually get one or two then it stops.
Tmobile Note 4 on ATT network. When I initially got it I called ATT and they set the APN remotely and made sure everything worked. LTE worked perfectly, MMS also worked perfectly.
I ran into some issues with xposed and had to do a full factory reset from recovery. The issue is that instead of getting my MMS as a picture I now get a download button which I have to press to download the picture. It's a major pain, sometimes I get a lot of pictures at a time and to sit there and wait for each to download really sucks.
I called ATT again but this time got a clueless rep. She made me manually change my APN as follows: This didn't help at all. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've seen a few treads addressing Wifi Calling, but they typically seem to address it in combination with other features (VoLTE, Band 12, etc) and not specifically on MetroPCS (yes, it is T-Mobile). My question:
I have both a Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. I have provided my E911 address for both phones and I can get WiFi calling to work on the 5X but not on the 6P. Both phones are rooted with the "N" build and both have the original radio (from "D") flashed for band 12.
Has anyone had WiFi calling work on MetroPCS with the Nexus 6P?
Metro PCS WiFi calling for Nexus 6P
I have a Motorola Nexus 6 that has WiFi calling with metro PCS (It shows T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling under cellular networks). I don't understand why my new Huawei Nexus 6P does not connect to Wi-Fi calling on metro PCS. The settings for Wi-Fi calling show "on" & "Wi-Fi calling preferred", but still native Wi-Fi calling doesn't work.
Does anyone know how to get Wi-Fi calling working on the Huawei Nexus 6P on metro PCS?

What are your settings for "access point names" and "network operators" on your Nexus 5x? I think that might be the reason the Nexus 6p does not connect to Wi-Fi calling. My Motorola Nexus 6 shows T-Mobile under "network operators", but my Huawei Nexus 6P shows MetroPCS. I don't find the way to have it connect it to the T-Mobile network, instead of the MetroPCS.

I was able to have my MetroPCS Wi-Fi calling work on my Huawei Nexus 6p. Just make sure you are using the APN settings for T-Mobile and of course turn on Wi-Fi calling under wireless & networks, more.

I did some experimenting. If you set MVNO type to "NONE" or set MVNO Value to empty "" (Not Set) it will make the APN disappear when you save it. If I leave all the settings at their default values (the MetroPCS values) and set the MVNO type to anything other than none and set the MVNO value to anything other than none, the phone works normally (but no WiFi calling) so I don't think the setting matters. That being said, I set all the other values to the ones you suggest (T-Mobile) and it didn't work. In fact if I change from fast.metropcs.com to fast.t-mobile.com I lose my data connection.
Changing your APN settings will fix the issue. These are theAPN settings that made my Nexus 6P connect to Wi-Fi calling on MetroPCS. Make sure you save your new APN after you create it and restart your phone. After you restart your phone make sure that this new APN is selected. Internet, Wi-Fi calls and texts work just perfect.

Go into system settings and about phone.
I was able to to activate Volte and WiFi calling by editing my apn.
The apn metropcs260dun I changed APN to ims and change APN type to ims. Apn protocol to ipv6 and apn roaming protocol to ipv4.
The metropcs260 with apn type of default, supl, mms I changed the mmsc to tmobiles default. (It won't let me add it because I'm a guest. But its a couple posts up)
Apn protocol ipv6, apn roaming protocol ipv4.
The other metropcs260 with ia as APN type, change apn protocol to ipv6 and apn roaming protocol to ipv4.
Change these apns and reboot. With these setting I now get Volte and WiFi calling, and HD voice. I am able to send sms with WiFi calling enabled in airplane mode but not mms. If anybody could help figure out how to get mms over WiFi with airplane mode on would be fantastic. Hope this helps

I was able to find an easier way. All you have to do is edit the apn metropcs260. Change the mmsc to tmobiles ( make sure you have the http: // in front) , then change the apn protocol and roaming protocol. Set this as your default and voila WiFi calling and Volte after you enable them settings. Only issue is mms won't send over WiFi in airplane mode.
No dice. @M3grady2

How do you guys know when VOLTE is working? Also, my WiFi calling works good, both texting and calling, and I just changed the APN to T-Mobile settings. However, when I switch airplane mode on my Wi-Fi calling does not work at all. And yes my Wi-Fi is on, but I get a message saying to turn off airplane mode or connect to a wireless network to make a call. I don't know what I'm missing or doing wrong. Any body?
