fingerprint reader causes an audible click/thump on speakers - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It sounds like a thump when you turn on a stereo and the speakers pop each time i unlock with the finger print reader.
Hope this is normal... anybody else hear it?

This and the fact that you have hardware clicks turned on in sound settings.

Nope, the volume was 1 notch below the center. This was the 1st thing I looked at after it happened. I guess I'm the only 1 it's happened to.
This actually happened to me a few times when i was on WM5, since i have switched to WM6 i haven't ever had this again. So i assume it is a rom glitch.

On to your problem, I have not seen anything wrong with my phone.

Ok go to phone app and press any Number key(it makes a tone) and then right away bring the phone speaker close to your ear for 10 secs and see if u hear any other sound other then the keytone. thanks and let me know the result, thanks a AALLOTTT,

Followed your instructions and "nope" no sound........
Its normal behaviour: turn your volume up all the way, trigger any sound. Then if you have good ears you can hear static at very low volume for about a second. Then the powermanagement cuts power to the amplifier and the phone goes completely silent again.
PS: Same behavior on my desktop PC running Fedora 12. You only hear the static from the soundcard if it suddenly stops ;-)
This is perfectly normal, when the hissing stops, thats the speaker turning off to save power, most other things with speakers do the same thing, it's not worth returning your beautiful Nexus One just for that...
EDIT: sorry, just noticed Volker1's post,
Yeah, I have the same thing, but as others said, it's normal behaviour.
Maybe the amplifier for the speaker is a bit noisier on this phone than some others, hence you can hear it before it gets switched off (might also explain the awful quality of the speaker phone experience)?

[Q] Sound coming from External Speakers

gents,
I know it is time I upgraded, but I am still using the Mega and i have a problem where it seems like most of the sound is coming from the rear speaker instead of from the ear receiver. Now I have to use the phone backwards just to hear the person on the phone.
I can't find the right setting to change this back to the receiver exclusively. Anybody have a clue?
did u clean the phone .... dust and oils can get into that region and block the sound ....

Ah I get it now, you want the dew drop sounds, but not the annoy click sound afterwards.
Does it happen when you hold the phone?
The back doesn't really sit flush against flat surfaces due to the speak guard slightly raised to stop the sound getting muffled, that might be the issue?

Ticking sound

Hello,
Since yesterday my Axon 7 makes a very irritating ticking sound. This happens when I open an app like Twitter, but also various other apps. Does anyone know why this happens and how to solve it?
Thanks in advantage!

Uninstall the Timebomb app. j/k
In case it's not touch sounds but the vibration motor. I seriously had to get used to the beeping sound of the linear vibration motor as I come from a device that used a nonlinear vibration motor.

It's not when I touch the screen, more like when I open certain apps that use data, or when I send a text for example. Sometimes it occurs as well when I charge my phone.

Haha, wish that could solve the problem! The vibration motor could be the problem indeed, but then I guess that nothing can solve the problem, right?

Unfortunately there isn't. I simply disabled the haptic feedback vibration when using the keyboard.
Took me a while to get used to but its fine now.
