[i9500] I don't have performance option. - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I have Samsung Galaxy S4 (i9500, no LTE) with Cyanogenmod 12.1 (last nightly update) but after unlock developer options i don't have performance options.
What can I do? How unlock performance option and overclock CPU?
Thanks so much.

Install STweaks or Kernel Adiutor. If your kernel supports overclocking either of those apps should accomplish the task. Otherwise, install a kernel that supports overclocking.
For the record, even on Optimized CM12.1 there is no option to overclock the CPU in the Developer options. It's all done through STweaks.

Does stweaks app have fast charge option?

It's not a question of whether STweaks has fast charging, but whether the kernel was compiled with fast charging support. If the kernel doesn't support it, it either will not appear in STweaks, or it will be non-functional.

Okay, I try install kernel with overclock option because when install STweaks in the application doest't have any tune option.
Thanks for help.

[Q] Any kernel for i9500 lolipop with undervolting support?

Hey folks I have the i9500 and all i want is to undervolt to reduce the excessive heat generated from this phone. Any kernel working on android 5.0 (AOSP or Stock) with undervolting support?
Thanks
Unknown. I was going to mention the kernel I used, but then realized you were asking about the I9500.
Well forgive me for my noobiness, but is there any way to enable the voltage settings in the stock kernel? I see some custom roms having "battery tweaks" which I guess is undervolting.. Any developer who can clarify much appreciated
The main problem you're going to have is one of availability. There simply aren't that many ROMs for the I9500, and probably fewer kernels. For the I9505 I know of two kernels that support undervolting, because I've used both of them. But the I9505 uses a Qualcomm processor rather than the Exynos processor, so those kernels will be of no use to you. Did you look in the I9500 Android Development subforum to see what's there?
Not yet but Perseus kernel dev said that he will update his kernel to lollipop when he has finished some other thing.
Also battery tweak in custom rom is not undervolting or unlikely to be. Since undervolting is device dependent.
well that is very likely, but I read somewhere (dont remember which rom ) that the kernel was undervolted -50 mV across all frequencies which should be stable for most chipsets, so was just thinking if devs could access the voltage tables and modify it using tools like synapse. (again apologize for the noobiness).
edit - well of course devs could do that andrei and maxfu come to mind, but can it be enabled or accessed on a stock kernel by a normal user?

Cannot overclock higher than 2.26GHz?

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005.
I installed a custom recovery and rom 2 days ago, first rom being phronesis 2.0 rom.
From there I tried overclocking my device but all apps show me 2.26ghz is the max my device can go, apps used include: kernal auditor, setcpu, trickster mod and no frills cpu control.
I searched the forums a bit and so I thought flashing a new kernel would help. I flashed Arter97s kernel and it still didn't allow me to overclock higher than 2.26 ghz, then I tried audax's kernel with no luck.
Then today I moved on to Tesla 5.1.1 Rom, and I still cannot overclock higher
I yet again reflashed arter97s kernel and still I am having no luck.
Any help?
Thanks

This is the limitation of the kernel. It provides the frequencies it supports, so you need a kernel with OC support. I do not OC, so sorry, no clue which to take which even is allowed to talk about here. ShinTo was supporting it AFAIK, but they had to leave due to not providing the source and thus violating the GPL.
Overclock

I am able to overclock my 9005 up to 2.7GHz with mentioned apps. I am not sure which kernal I am using. I have Phronesis 5.0 on and am getting ready to flash 5.2. The only shlep is that I need to set the frequency after each reboot. I wish this could be included in a kernal.
Try using leankernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488082 I had same kind of problem then I flashed this and used kernel auditor. Now everything works perfectly!
Can't Flash Kernel on note 3 sm-n900
I have been looking for solution at multiple sites. Hope to get answer here. I have downloaded a stock rom lollipop for my note 3 sm-n900.
I was successful at overclocking it to 2.1ghz but i want it to be at 2.7ghz and the current kernel does not support it.
I tried flashing three different kernels lk-hltemo 6..., lk-hlte v6 and lk-hlteu 6... using CWM and TWRP but kernel didn't flash.
Somebody pleaseeeee helppppp....
Read the thread .
But if you dont know what you are doing you will brick your phone .

What is the best setting for Kernel Adiutor?

Hello what is the best CPU setting for our S4?
Kernel info would be helpful.
If it's the stock Lineage kernel, there isn't in terms of advanced tweaking.

Kernel with CPU/GPU Overclock/Underclock/Undervolt support?

Hello everyone, coming from Galaxy Note 2, I've wondered if there's kernel that supports OC/UC/UV for both the CPU and GPU?
I've tried all of the custom kernel in the index, but only Evira support CPU OC/UC (but not GPU OC) and the performance wasn't very good. Is there any upcoming custom kernel that supports all of the above?
All? Okay
I happy with morfuz, but I'm not a player.
And it have not of this options.
Yup all of them. Maybe I'll have to write my own haha. Or modify one of them to support it. :silly:
Oc
So have you found a good one or made the tweaks yourself? I'm looking exactly for that kernel and untill now ancient is the more stable and without bugs or overheating.

Question about custom kernels, and whether I actually need one

Hey guys
So I've been rocking Franco Kernel since I first rooted, but now I'm considering rooting without a custom kernel after updating to OOS 10. However, there are a few settings I want to be able to tweak and I'm wondering if I can do that on a stock OOS kernel
Basically, on Franco Kernel Manager the things I tweak most depending on my needs are:
1) CPU / GPU governor, to interactive, conservative, powersave or performance
2) CPU / GPU maximum frequency
3) Cores, sometimes I disable some when in a low battery emergency
Is it possible to change these settings with FK Manager on OOS's stock kernel? While being rooted of course
