slowmo video - why isn't the whole clip slow? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Playing around with the slowmo video and I noticed that during playback, the slow motion doesn't start until like 3-4 seconds into the video. Is this normal?

Go to Google Photos, you can choose which area is slowed down, it's pretty cool

Streaming Quality with Netflix and Youtube

Hi, I just recently received my Nexus 10, and am loving it. However, I have found that video quality through streaming services (like YouTube and Netflix) is fairly poor. The videos that I've watched on YouTube and Netflix are fairly blurry and grainy. I tried Netflix on my computer as well, and it was blurry and grainy there, too, which makes me think that the problem isn't my Nexus. Is there a way to increase the quality of videos through these services? I did a speedtest, and my download speed is 2.5 megabytes (not megabits) per second, so I would think I would be able to stream HD content easily. Thanks!
On your computer, are you setting the quality at 720P or higher? Does it buffer or play straight through? Do you have HD turned on the Nexus 10 when you play videos?

Chipmunk sound when playing back 120 FPS slow motion videos.

For whatever reason when I playback a slow motion video recorded in 120 FPS by my Nexus 6P, the normal parts of the video that aren't slowed down, are sped up and have a chipmunk sound to them. I'm not sure what causes that. Has anyone run into the same issue?
I have the same issue and it is driving me nuts! Doesn't happen in 240 playback. And seems to be an issue with Google photos.
I can slow it down with MX player, but the audio is still too slow.
Looks like your phone has a chipmunk in it. I would give a call to Google to process an RMA.
I kid. Anyway, I just test it at 120fps and the sound is fine at normal speed; it slows down when in slow motion.

@badboy47 what version of Google photos are you on, are you playing it through photos?

This article says to power off, then on your phone. That seems to have temporarily fixed the issue for me. The issue is with the camera app I am pretty sure because I tried other players and none could change the speed to normal.

How to edit 240 fps videos?

I came from an HTC phone where after taking a video you could immediately trim it. I don't see a trim option?
But more importantly, if I take a 240 fps video, within the camera app it shows that cool effect where the video is regular speed, but then slows down in super slow motion, and speeds up again. But when I copy that video to my computer, it just plays in super slow motion for the whole clip.
I'd like to edit on the phone, and have the edited clip save to my computer.
Anyone else face this?

Slo-mo, low quality and bad sound syncing

Since I cant post videos at the moment please do me a favor and try this out and see for yourself.
Does the slow motion resolution look a lot less than 720p? I recorded a regular video in 720p as well just to compare and it looks a lot better than in slo-mo mode
Also, when viewing a recording it'll start at normal speed like usual, I then select the part of the video I want slowed down which works great but then when the video goes back to normal speed the sounds are way off, for example I was juggling a soccer ball and while the ball was in the air you'd hear the kicking sounds. hoping there's a fix for this.

Slow motion playback player

Hey guys...I just got this phone today because of the 240fps video capture, however when I gogo to play videos I can't do a frame by frame playback. I've taken slo-mo videos with an iPhone and the playback is awesome where I can scroll with my finger the exact speed forwards or backwards frame by frame.
Is there any kind of slo-mo player similar to the iPhone's for the nexus 6p? Even the one the Samsung note 5 was pretty good...but this photos player or anything that I've used in the play store sucks. the best would be if someone could get the iPhone's picture preview app to this phone.
Been looking everywhere online and there just isn't anything it there lol...why doesn't anyone make something like this? Is it that hard?
Seriously though even the one on the Samsung would be ok but this playback on Google photos suck
Ok so if anyones interested in using the slow mo for sports I finally found the best app for it to playback slowly frame by frame. The app is called coach's eye...ive now used it a few times and I have no idea why its only rated as 3.9 stars...to me its so nice and would rate it 5 stars.
The app is free if you just want to record and playback, but if you wanna start drawing lines and other options I think you have to pay like $15 or something. Either way the app is awesome and anyone that wants to use it for sports needs this app especially for golf =).
