[Solved] Cannot boot into Recovery Mode - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Problem:
When I try to enter recovery mode, my Note 4 starts immediately into download mode. In the first line it says "Could not do normal boot". It doesn't matter how I try to enter the recovery mode: Neither via cyanogenmod reboot menu, nor via Power+Up+Home.
What I did before:
I've started cyanogenmod update via CyanDelta app. But I think, it didn't started the flashing and already failed to start TWRP...
What I've tried to fix:
Flash TWRP again via ODIN: Does not help
Can anybody help?

Solved it: I've installed the wrong version of TWRP. In my case, I've used the "treltexx"-version instead of "trltexx".

[Q] TWRP: "custom recovery" not working anymore, TWRP not starting

Hi there,
I wanted to install latest CM10.1 coming from 0526 yesterday on my Defy+.
Did a backup with TWRP first.
Then the flashing failed, so I wanted to recover from backup.
Phone now is stuck at Motorola M not booting anymore.
When I enter bootloader (vol down) and want to enter "custom recover" he just jumps back to the same menu. TWRP is not starting.
Choosing "stock recovery" is possible, but if I choose a CM10.1 zip file it's not accepted.
RSD Lite does not recognize the phone when it's in the bootloader menu or in the stock recover menu.
Help is very much appreciated, what can I do?
Thanks and best regards.

Okay, I found out why I couldn't enter flash mode by using Vol+ when starting.
The phone powered already up when I put in the battery, so I always pushed Vol+ too late.
Pressing Vol+ WHILE inserting the battery did the trick, phone went into flash mode and I could re-flash 2.3.6 sbf using RSD lite.

Still not sure why TWRP was messed up just by recovering from a TWRP-made backup...
Best regards
Same situation to me.
I opened Terminal Emulator, gained root access
then type below command to get recovery mode
# reboot recovery
Custom recovery not running
I have a similar issue.
I rooted my stock S4 and installed the proper TWRP.
Heres where my situation is a bit different from anything I have seen on the forum threads. All attempts—both hard and soft—to reboot into recovery, all direct the reboot to Odin Mode. Just to clarify I have not flashed any rom custom or stock, the only thing I have flashed has been TWRP and CWM recovery. And I only flashed CWM AFTER the Failings of TWRP.
When I attempt to boot into recovery, it flashes the blue characters then sends me into a Odin Mode loop until I hard-key the "download mode" and select restart to boot the os normally.
my phone works fine other than not being able to flash custom roms, which is a pain in the arse especially with all the s4 Bloatware.
Here's what I have done so far to help myself:
• install CWM recovery
• tried hard-key reboot recovery (power off/ press home/volume up/power)
• soft reboot recovery through both Goo, CWM and ROM Toolbox pro
• removed my sd card and tried reboot recovery
• removed battery and reboot recovery
• emulator reboot recovery
• reboot recovery both with and without usb cable
I looked into flashing stock with Odin but all tutorials i could find were of an older version and I didnt want to guess what I needed to get that to work,
Please let me know if theres anything I can do.

[Q] Not Able to enter Recovery Mode

I have a SM-N9005 (on 4.4.2) which is facing boot loops (doesn't pass the animated Samsung logo). Tried to enter recovery mode but it reboots after a few seconds after seeing the blue recovery booting wordings.
I am able to enter to download mode and managed to successfully flash the stock firmware (from samfirmware.com) using ODIN 3.09. Phone reboots after ODIN finishes flashing and tries to enter recovery mode but it fails as per before.
Tried to root using CF-Auto-Root and tried to use TWRP or CWM recovery modules but unable to boot up to these modules as well.
Any other ideas guys?

[GT-i9500] Phone freezes when entering recovery mode

Hi all,
I recently tried to use the app 'Flashify' to upgrade my installed version of Clockwork Mod to the latest version.
Now whenever I try to boot my phone, it goes straight into recovery mode in which my phone freezes with the 'Recovery Booting...' message displayed on-screen.
I was able to put the phone into download mode and have been able to boot back into the Android OS by using Heimdall on my Mac (I don't have access to a Windows machine) and flashing the stock boot.img to the BOOT partition.
Even when I try to boot into the recovery mode (By pressing the HOME + Volume Up + Power buttons] it still freezes.
I would like to try out custom roms however, so how can I get the recovery function on my phone working again?
If you know how to use Heimdall, then flash again the recovery with it.
Use this command:
heimdall flash --recovery recovery.img --no-reboot
I never like those apps like Flashify, because when you do it manually, you know what you are doing.
Awesome! Thank you!
I am getting a couple of error messages though 'E: failed to mount /efs (Invalid arguments').

Please help!

Hey guys; Rooted note 3 on stock 5.0 ROM with TWRP recovery.
Earlier, my device booted no problem, but whenever I'd try to go to recovery mode, it would skip it, and go straight to Odin for whatever reason.
I downloaded Quick Boot from the play store and clicked to boot to recovery, and now my phone displays "Could not do normal boot" and enters Odin mode.
Please help!
flash TWRP via Odin again

[help] Can't install twrp

hii guys i can't install twrp on my play.....whenever i enter the command i get the error
"error: cannot load twrp-lux-2.8.7.0"
also the windroid tool says twrp flashed successfully but when i reboot into recovery it boots into stock recovery with "no command" on display
any help appreciated
What are you typing when trying to flash?
fastboot flash recovery nameoffile.img
Not sure if you are having the same issue I did.
Are you flashing TWRP then using the reboot command to restart your phone immediately?
If so, try flashing TWRP again. Instead of rebooting, try to access the recovery menu right after flashing. This worked for me. The post I saw related to this mentioned the Moto was overwriting something when rebooting. I haven't had any issues since.
