Cant Get Device Recognized in Bootloader... Appears drivers wont install? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all. Device is not recognized in Bootloader mode. Computer recognizes the Nexus 6P for PTP transfer but not for MTP....I want to unlock bootloader before anything else and flash the newer system image. I have the most up to date drivers downloaded. Can anyone lend some wisdom? Thank you.

[Q] Can't connect to pc after rooting

Hi guys,
after unocking bootloader and so on, i cannot connect the n4 as a media device. camera (ptp) and debugging works, but not mtp.
already wiped everything
someone can help me?
I had the same problem. Had to remove the Google drivers I installed to get fastboot (do this via device manager, make sure to tick the box to delete the driver files as well else it will just reinstall them)
1.Delete the Device from device manager.
2. Grab the naked drivers in teh dev forum and install them.
3.???
4.Profit
i don't think it's a driver problem, i have the same issue on both w8 and ubuntu
someone else wanna try?
If you turn off USB debugging, media device mode works.

Unrsponding N4 and driver problem

Hi guys,
this is my first post here, so please be tolerant.
I have a Nexus 4 that is rooted and bootloader unlocked. Today I made the mistake to start the OTA update for version 4.4 and after that it was not able to restart, only showing the "Google" sign.
So I wanted to use adb sideload, but the device is not able to connect to my computer. The problem is that it is classified as "unknown device" and therefore it cant communicate. I already tried to reinstall the SDK and PDAnet driver, but the problem is that the the device is still unknown.
I already tried it with different pc and also with uninstalling all drivers, still no success.
I also tried the factory reset from the recovery manager, but it had no effect.
For now I am able to start fastboot mode, but as I already said I have no chance to communicate with the device.
Hope you guys here have some more ideas.

Computer won't recognize phone via USB.

I've got debugging enabled, have tried literally all the connection options, multiple computers, etc. I just want to back up and root my phone. I'm at the point that I'm willing to try a factory reset and pray that works. Is there anything else I can do before that?
Do you have device drivers installed on your computer? Does adb/installed properly? Is OEM unlocking ticked? If its a driver issue update them. If its adb download the minimal adb from XDA. Otherwise that's it.
Device drivers are installed and OEM unlocking is ticked. I'm working on updating adb/fastboot.
Alright, everything is updated as much as it can be, and still nothing. No recognition whatsoever.
What version of windows are you running?
I had to do this to get mine to work... go into the device manager on Windows, find the Nexus, right-click and choose update driver software. Browse to where the driver is located on your PC and select the folder.

Nexus 2012 3g bootloader issue.

I have windows 10, and am attempting to root and flash a custom recovery and ROM onto my nexus 7. Everything functions as intended until i have to enter bootloader. windows 10 is not able to recognize the device drivers when plugged in while in bootloader mode. It simply says that the device is not recognized. I read that the issue is needing to edit the .INF with updated hardware ID's for the device and reinstall the drivers using that INF file. However, trying to do that yields no results because when i uninstall the driver i cant find the device plugged in anywhere to be able to update its drivers in the device manager, and simply trying to override the devices currently installed drivers via device manager also does nothing. I even tried installing the driver update while the device was in bootloader via device manager (the device is recognized in device manager but has a yellow exclamation point and says device descriptor failed) with no results. What am i doing wrong? can anyone help? I've never had an issue this frustrating while trying to root an android device. Is it a windows 10 issue? I need a complete (and simple to understand) step-by-step please.

The Motorola USB port drivers have to be installed and the device has to be recognized. I would un-install previous drivers, reboot windows, then reinstall the motorola drivers. Once they work - then go back to adb/fastboot and see if fastboot recognizes the phone (fastboot devices). A quick check to see if the motorola drivers are working, is to go into the file manager and see if the phone shows up as a drive.
Its possible that twrp has been overwrite, when fastboot recognizes the phone, then go reinstall TWRP.
You might want to let us know what version of windows/linux you use to help troubleshoot the driver problems.
