Nexus 6P shipping box size - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys I have a request if anybody can help I would be grateful. I need to know the size of the shipping box of the nexus 6P from Google Store USA the dimensions in Innch or CM it doesn't matter and a photo too be great. I'm talking here about the shipping box not the nexus 6P box itself
Thanks in advance

https://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus6P/comments/3qjygc/nexus_6p_shipping_box_size/

This is like the 5th post I saw about this on reddit or forums. Why does it matter? To fit into a mailbox?

Some people probably have their phones shipped to other locations for various reasons, and then want the recipient to forward it to them. Maybe they are avoiding tax by shipping to another state? Or maybe they live overseas and are having their friend or family member forward it to them there? Lots of people seem to care about this!

[Q] Complete pricing of Nexus in the US and elsewhere

Hi there. I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't really find such a thread.
Coming back to the topic. I am thinking of getting Nexus 4 from US through my cousin who lives there. As I browsed the SHOP NOW page at Google play store, it showed the price $ 349.00 for 16 gb version. What I want to know is that:
- what will be the final price of the device including the TAXES & SHIPPING to Stanton, California?
- and as Google has mentioned a few countries where it will officially launch the device and people can order it online. Does it mean the actual product will ship from the US to (lets say) Australia? Which means the shipping will dramatically increase? Will it?
Would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on it.
Thanks in advance!
Can anyone please reply
I can't answer you about US taxes, but when I bought my Nexus 7 direct from Google play (I'm in UK) they were dispatched within the UK. Well from Northern Ireland, but it's still technically a part of the UK. The delivery charge was £10, which is typical here in the UK. I'm sure they are dispatched locally if they are purchased within the officially released countries, or it wouldn't really make logistical sense for every individual order to be dispatched from the US worldwide.
So, if Australia was an official country, it would be dispatched from there, or somewhere close enough.

Appreciated. Thank you very much for your response.
As Makaijin has said before, it's not shipped from the US all over the globe but rather the local distribution centres. For the U.K. it's from the U.K. but here in Australia, stuff gets shipped from Singapore (it was for the Nexus 7 at least). Thank God Australia's an official launch country .
Ahan, Any idea about the TAXES one has to pay? As in, how much (tax) would one pay for this phone in the US?
and what generally are shipping charges in the US?
Going off the Nexus 7 @ $250 I paid $283 out the door. I believe California has 7-8% sales tax so that should be around $28 in tax plus I recall 2 day shipping on the Nexus 7 was $12. I'd say your out the door would be right at or just over $400.

[Q] Nexus 4 Box Dimensions

If anyone already has the Nexus 4 with the box, can you post the dimensions of the box?
Thank You
The weight of complete box would also be useful?
As I have to ship one to a friend overseas and would like to get quotes on postage.
And no I'm not selling it on Ebay!

I am evaluating various service providers including DHL and Fedex. They surely are a bit overpriced but you can be confident of their services at least.
I'm thinking of using BorderLinx or Shipito. Their price is more reasonable than DHL or Fedex or UPS, too.
And I was a bit surprised that I was able to use my Japanese credit card to purchase two Nexus 4's (I have to use a US billing address, but somehow the bank still OKed with that). Next time prolly I'll just have it shipped directly to Shipito (they offer OR address - so no sale tax) instead of my friend's address.
Holy molly, I just read this news:
http://pe.usps.com/Lithium_Battery_Update.asp
And this:
http://about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2012/pb22350/html/updt_002.htm
That means that we can send our phones through USPS. That should save me a lot of money!! Anyone in the US could bother to check this out for me?

thanks for the detailed infos
I've mailed phones / electronics with batteries several times via USPS. If they've noticed, they haven't cared.
Did you mail them internationally? The rule doesn't apply to domestic shipments though.
AFAIK, now they do indeed allow batteries with international shipping

Well, according to usabox.com, the package I just got on my postal box at their offices is 10x6x6 inches. These numbers seem to have been rounded up, so they tell you the size upper limit of the package. I guess it is a little bit smaller.
EDIT: I just got my package!!
The box originally used by the Google carrier is 23.4 x 13.5 x 13.3 (just measured before opening it, all in cm), the declared weight 2 lbs.
Hope this info heps.

It's pretty much the same price everywhere (except for a few places over-charging compared to the Google Play Store). This web page has a list of availability which is probably reasonably complete: http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/checker-nexus-7-tablet
Some of the stores on that page are online only, but the majority have bricks and mortar outlets.

I figured out currys.co.uk but I wanted to know if there was any other site selling it at a lesser price.
Thanks anyway for the prompt reply. Appreciate it.
Argos is fairly good, got mine from there.
Also extremely easy to return to, no questions asked sort of place.
Check for currys voucher codes online...or Argos/HMV in store deals...Asda is aswell but 180-199 is usually the range anyways for 32 gb
Easy returns from stores

If you goto a Currys/PCWorld store then do NOT be fooled by their £20 off the 32Gb Nexus 7 because it's a con. Basically, it's £199, yet they say you can purchase ANY case (Their own wording) and get £20. Now if you can truly get ANY case then they sell £5 - £10 cheap phone cases so you get one of those and save £10 - £15, but it's not, it's buy any TABLET case and they start at £20. So you pay £20 and get £20 back, and their own proper Nexus 7 cases are £25, so you would be £5 out of pocket for a cheap plastic case.
This was in my own local super store, so yours may differ for offers + you might get a doofus serving you (like most Currys/PCWorld staff on commision) so you might be able to talk the talk.
You could also try a local Comet, they're shutting down their stores and they sell the Nexus 7, so you might see 20% off if you're lucky.
Good luck.
thank you guys..!!
Just seen my local 'Carphone Warehouse' has the 32Gb N7 for £195, they also had some cheap decent case/pouches from £6.
If there is a local Carphone Warehouse near you I would send your friend in there, hopefully they have stock left, and they are the cheapest for 32Gb N7 on the highstreet.
I agree with what John said, I ordered mine last saturday and by the monday or tuesday I had it £195 with free delivery too!
Got it ! Thanks!

32GB Manufacture refurbrished vs 16GB new 1st gen Nexus 7

I cannot decide what 1st gen Nexus 7 I should buy.
I am trying to make a decision between a 32GB manufacture refurbrished one and 16GB new one. (I am posting a poll also...)
The 32GB refurbrished one has advantages on storage (since Nexuses do not have SD card as all you know) and price ($4 cheaper on ebay)
However, I am concerned with WHAT KIND of refurbrished product it is.
Even tech experts say that there is no such thing as an exact definition for manufacture refurbrished product and the definition depends on the manufacture. Only thing customer knows is that it is basically manufacutre approved "used" product that is reshaped.
Do any of you guys know what is the Google's definition of Nexus 7?
Was it partially used? Was it a opened and returned item? Was it on the display? Did the packaging simply got messed up during the manufacturing? Or did it failed inspection at the process of manufacturing and some parts had to be remade? (These are the possible definitions of refurbrished products as you all know)
I personally do not prefer returned items because they might have been harshly used or returned because of defects (I have heard if store manager returns the product to the manufacuter while forgetting to mark it as defected, it may streight make its way as a refurbrished product without further inspection.)
Also, looking at the displayed electronics in the store and how people treat them, I felt that displayed electroincs are worse than used one since not only there are used, but also people use it really harshly (physically and software-wise, eg. downloading unsafe stuff).
Also, can you guys share your experience with refurbrished Nexus? How was it?
Thank you for reading my long question, I hope you all have a nice day.
PS
It seems like I missed all of the 1st gen Nexus 7 deals that was going on for months T_T.
Do you guys have any news about 1st gen Nexus 7 deals or discounts?
Thanks

The only new thing I have bought was my Nexus 4, after that everything is either used or refurbished. I recently bought another nexus 7 to replace my 16GB (I gave it to my kid) the new 32GB is refurbished (new not used) and working fine. I paid USD 135.00 on ebay, not a single flaw with it. What I can tell you is that you should not pay more than 150.00 for a 1st GEN nexus 7 32GB.
Hope this info helps you out!!!
Lucky me. Got a used but mint condition 1st gen 32gb for 120 and happy with it, even came with a TPU case thrown in. Granted it wasn't refurb but I've bought refurb stuff in the past and all work fine.
I bought a manufacturer refurbished Nexus 7 32 GB and it was flawless.
Not a scratch, ding, no dead pixels or any of the other problems others have had with their Nexus 7.
The only difference I could see was that it didn't come in the original box.
one more thumbs-up on refurbs

Going back almost 20 years in the PC industry - refurbs had a poor reputation.. Then consumer laws both in US and Canada changed so that any return couldn't be sold as a 'new' item.
The refurb situation now often means that when done by original manufacturer, refurbs often receive extra testing and quality assurance tests. I've purchased several items as refurbished and prepared many more for customers while working in PC retail. I can recall only one instance of complete hardware failure ( network port on motherboard).
I purchased my N7 and a Xoom tablet both as refurbished and haven't regretted either. Do some careful searching and you can find the deals out there. I would suggest that you check out bigger online retailers, I'm in Canada so your offers will likely be somewhat different, currently Newegg has some offers. E-bay is another channel, but I find the pricing to be somewhat inflated there.
Careful shopping is a good skill to develop
as always -- your mileage may vary.

What about uk price? Has it been confirmed yet? I can only find US price at the moment?
Hmmm, live event has finished and Nexus 6 has gone out of stock at the same time.... F5...F5....repeat! LOL
and as if by magic, the N6 is back in stock again.... as you were!

They did't say anything abut play credit for UK!

Ordered 32GB Black - 21-23 Oct estimated delivery. Really pleased we didn't have to wait too long this time round.
anyone get quicker than 2-3 delivery?
Ordering mine in January, looking to get 2 - 2.5 years very good usage out of it
Poll up for which version you've bought! Hope you all haven't had any major problems.
Just be aware that your bank might block the payment if it is declined so just check with them and on wallet.google.com for details of transactions and payment details.
Snaked by Google with that pricing, snaked by specs, snaked by the pitiful 16gb base storage, snaked the apparently stereo speakers which are actually mono, snaked by the lack of a NOTIFICATION LED, what on earth were they thinking? Absolutely not worth it, and unless Google have more stock or something, this is the first nexus launch I've seen where it isn't immediately out of stock - it's been at least an hour, and I can still order it. It seems people don't like it. We've been shafted by Google and LG here, and I don't like it one bit.
The Huawei looks decent though.

Unlikely, like everything else "only in America!"
WIll order it for my mrs as she badly needs a new phone since she smashed the screen on her N5. Will order the ice 16GB for her.
I think it'll wait and see how reviews go before I order mine. I'm happy to stay with my N5 for now.
The stats on the phone forum page say 3gb, but it's only 2gb?
Was going to look at the 6p, is it that much bigger ?
Should I or shouldn't I get the 5x?
16gb black ordered. 16gb was enough for me on my nexus 5 so repeating the same even if it is only another £40 for the 32gb
Just meh... It's a good phone, but it could have been so much more with so little extra effort...
