Hello in the android battery stats, google services always appears as the biggest battery drainer,
however, kept awake time and cpu usage time seems reasonable (cannot possibly account for 60% battery use)
In Gsam battery or better battery stats, there is not sign that a considerable amount of battery is being used by google service.
Altogether, i am still able to reach almost 5 hours of sreen on time over 24 hours (quite reasonable) i would just like to understand if this is bad reading from the android stats app, or if there is actual drain here.
I am currentrly on stock 4.2.2 with franco's latest kernel.
i flashed a clean image of 4.2.2.
google+ and gtalk signed out, report location from device is disabled. auto backup disabled
any advice? anybody with similar issue.

I'm having the similar thing. No idea how to get rid of it. When trying to disable some of the apps (namely Google Services Framework), Play Store keeps fc'ing.

It is likely an actual drain. I would try uninstalling the updates or updating to the latest version.
I noticed a week or so ago that my battery suddenly started draining quite fast. I saw other threads that imply that something has happened with Google services is the culprit, but no real details as to why. This morning, after a day outside in the cold and snow and of almost no use of my phone I looked at my battery and it was down to 59%. Looked at stats and found the following use numbers:
Screen use: 9% - So phone hardly used
App use: 67%
Google Services: 29%
Under Google services I found the following and wonder if this is the problem and what could be causing it?
Wake locks: 19,983
# of times waking device: 2789
Thanks.

Try clearing cache partition in recovery. Worked for the other person that has a similar thread
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
Where is Recovery and Cache Partition? I don't see any of that on my phone.
Do you see the wake stats I posted as normal?

Google booting into recovery with note 3, then scroll down into clear cache partition. Don't do a full wipe cause that will delete everything

Still waiting for a solution to this problem. I even wiped my whole phone, unrooted, and went back to stock. Android OS is still the highest on the battery consumption list and I did not have anything signed in or logged in. Something is going on in these Google apps it's funny cause again I have nothing installed and my android os is taking so much battery.
I am having the same problem as well. Android OS and Google apps suck the life out of my phone. I have tried different ROMs as well but I still don't get good batt life even with SYNC GPS off.
I'm experiencing a lot of wakelocks on 6.0.1
It's mostly happlens when I disable WiFi and and leave the phone over the night.
The problem is gone only after a restart, and will ocure again if I disable WiFi.
Anyone with similar problem and most importantly - solution ?
How can I find what cause this wakelocks?
(I'm not rooted)
if you are not rooted then how did you find that your device is suffering from wakelocks ?
use gsam battery app to monitor wakelocks.

On the battery page, when I click on graph it shows the detailed graph when the screen was on, when wifi was on, etc. When I noticed fast battery drain I can see that the "awake" graph is continious meaning that device stays awake all the time, even all apps was closed and wifi, and data was disabled.

Reset moto display (clear data and cache) and use the new battery optimization on all your apps. And for extra, use greenify which can also show you the apps that are running in the background and is able to aggressive doze your device.
Could also be an app that screams for an internet connection since it only happens when you disable WiFi.

boot into safe mode, leave the phone for a few hours and see if the wakelocks are still there. if not then it is caused by some apps.

Its part of the moto app. Go to settings>app>moto>storage and clear data and cache. Mine was also giving a lot of wakelocks first few days when it was new, because of moto display had a bug waking up the device every few minutes. I did a factory reset and everything was solved.

OK, I did hard reset as well, several times, from the menu and form the storck recovery - BUT the wakelocks still present
it happens mostly when I turn off wifi
any suggestions?
I'm unrooted, just stock 6.0.1 nothing hacked or whatsoever.
Reading this thread it's not actually drians your battery, but it's a bug in the battery statistics showing your wifi was on. Read this thread for more info.

UPDATE : There is NO FIX , Nothing CAN FIX IT ! Its Sony's Problem and they never acknowledge it , Not Sure why some users can get good battery life, custom kernel perhaps.
Q & A Section (I have problems where other users don't)
1. My Wifi is slow and frequently disconnects
- The issue ONLY persist on the first oreo update , it is somehow fixed in the second update
- It could be your router settings (Beacon / DTIM Interval)
2. This phone cant connect to my car's bluetooth / any bluetooth device
- Try to delete your car's bluetooth device from your phone and do the same for the car too
- Restart your phone
- Turn bluetooth on if it is off , try pairing them again
- If all else fails its either your cars audio system is buggy or your phone's carrier software is buggy
3. The phone overheats
- Electronics will get hot according to physics , many factors such as surrounding temperature affects the temp of the phone
- Pushing your phone to play games while in a bathroom will of course make it hot too
- Use HWMonitor to check the temp, if its over 65 degrees celsius = shut it down and let it cool
4. The phone lags and when battery below 30% but is so l33t when plugged in
- Check if stamina is on (stamina mode has three different levels , be sure to analyse them prior)
- If stamina is off then there is nothing wrong with your phone, its because when the battery level is low the phone tries to stay as long as it can
To make this work, your phone will throttle down the cpu power (clocks) to a lower level = saving power
- In conjunction , the low battery level can also lead to the battery unable to supply enough voltage for all the SoC in the phone

As we all know there is an ongoing issue with our Xperia XZ , which is massive , ridiculous , annoying battery drain
For Example, if you charge your device to 100% and leave it overnight, the next morning it will be down to 95% or lower,
2. For Anyone who somehow does not suffer from this issue, please share your tips below
3. I will try to find apps that come bundled with the phone via clean install

The real suspected app is : Google Play Services. It is going crazy to all phones in last period. Not only Sony or Xperia xz.

I have actually locked bootloader xz. When google app or playservices goes crazy or a little crazy, battery is awful. When are OK ,battery seems good. Better than nougat. Try to enter on playservices beta test. This problem is discussed on web. It happens on all android phones. Is google service side problem. It is a case it is happened on xz with oreo. Because it is the same period when google come crazy on playservices. Try to put beta play services and then reboot phone after you notice the upgrade .It is a first test. Depends by google side. Because it happens on Samsung,Asus ,one plus ecc. . Different devices, and different android version(i notice this on nougat and marshmallow too). So blame Google. And when playservices drains ,my phone becames hot a little without do anything. Playservices drains expecially when you use GPS on high accuracy .
After the Play Services update 11.9.51 about a week ago the random battery drops are gone, battery life has been the same as nougat for me (5-6 hours of sot). That's a comfortable 2 days with 0-1% drop overnight.

seems like this thread is having a breakthrough
@eddieleon7pc why you say that Sony lack of optimizzation is the culprit too? The playservices thing happens too on other oem... Not Sony only.

On battery graph appears playservices? Or Google app? If is yes and have some strange drains... Playservices are perstist in drains(but you can notice it after more hours) . There are various method, not only install playservices beta. For example, try to delete cache on playstore, then on playservices and then unistall updates of playservices. Then reupdate playservices to last beta version and wait other charge cycle. Drain for me is, actually fine(because sometimes playservices returns to became crazy... It's all Google side) . The right drain for xz. Other oem with same soc and more battery have worse battery than xz. Thank Sony optimizzation here.

Hey Folks loving my LG V20 so far. But recently, I have seen Android OS, Phone Idle, and Android System draining half the battery life.
I am un rooted, and do not wish to root it as all features I have are there.
Any tips you can provide me? Thanks.

Have you tried a more in depth battery stats app?
Accubattery, gsam betterbatterystats come to mind
Mine does that in response to installing any new kind of all that scans for media in background. It'll get stuck alot but usually a reboot helps so not sure

Sorry for late reply, I checked my battery health estimate with Accubattery, it shows 94%.
Also, Phone Idle drain is higher then Screen? Anyone else get that?
I have phone idle using as much power as screen use. Sometimes even more.
Not sure what phome idle means. Wifi, 4g idle are included in this?
