Hi all,
I recently bought a OPT and wanted to root it, but I can't get the RSA Fingerprint dialog to appear.
What I've done:
Installed Android SDK and platform tools and all that stuff according to the guide in the general section
Installed Koush's universal drivers and also specifically installed the Oneplus drivers
Rebooted rebooted rebooted both my computer and phone multiple times
Revoked USB authorization multiple times (according to some this works, but not for me)
Tried both MTP and PTP
Switched off and on developer options and USB Debugging
Factory reset my phone
When I start a command prompt in the platform tools directory and execute "adb version", " Andoid Debug Bridge version 1.0.32 Revision eac51f2bb6a8-android" pops up, so I think my ADB is working properly. But when I execute "ADB devices" the ADB server starts up and then nothing is listed under connected devices.
I'm using Windows 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
This might work
This didn't work for me, but give it a try.

Hi, my problem is this: my phone is recognized as an ADB device but I cannot see it under adb devices.
Currently running PA RC2 3.99
Fastboot and Recovery do recognize it but ADB does not.
I have the drivers from here installed them as described in the instructions with uninstalling + deleting the old ones and rebooting.
I also have the most updated version of ADB from Android SDK.
One weird thing is that if i uninstall + delete the current drivers and try to install the ones i got from the SDK and not from the thread I mentioned then it does not install them. So maybe that is where my problem...
Any advice??
Thanks in advance.

Did you enable usb debugging?
Also check that you have an option selected under Settings>Storage>USB Computer connection, not having either MTP or PTP selected there will also bork adb.
If you still can't get it to work, try Koush's universal drivers: Link
still not working...
1. Yes, usb debugging is on.......
2. Already tried toggling MTP/PTP/None - When on MTP driver installs successfully but I cannot see the device under adb devices. on the other two options (PTP/None) I am unable to install the driver (tried both the ones on XDA and the ones from MDK)
3. Tried Koush's universal driver - on PTP/None still not able to install drivers. On MTP didn't do much except for changing device name from Android ADB Device to Google Nexus ADB Interface
Thanks for all the quick replies,
Any other suggestions???

what does it say when you issue the "adb devices" command? Please write it out here so we can help you. Does it say "device offline"? If yes, then your device is not registered by digital fingerprint by Android SDK.

Ok, so I'm with my Nexus connected as an MTP device, with the driver from XDA installed (see attached image), USB Debugging enabled:
Code:
C:\>adb kill-server
C:\>adb start-server
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
C:\>adb devices
List of devices attached
C:\>
Any advice???
Anyone has any advice??
I really have not idea what to do. Tried everything...
Thanks
Works on a different computer
I've connected the phone to my borther's PC and installed the drivers from the SDK. It worked without any problem.
I really can't figure out why it's not working on my laptop.
[Solved]
OK...
So as I said before I tried connecting when PTP is checked and when neither PTP nor MTP are checked and on both couldn't install the drivers properly (neither from xda nor from sdk).
What worked for me:
1. Uncheck both PTP & MTP
2. Device Manager -> Nexus 4 -> Update Driver Software -> Browse my computer for driver software
3. Now instead of browsing to the location I went to "Let me pick from a list..."
4. It should show a list of devices/manufacturers. Clicked "Show All Devices"
5. On the bottom right click "Have a disk"
6. Point to the android_winusb.inf file from Android SDK
7. Choose Android ADB Interface from the list
8. Let driver install

Thanks to everyone that tried to help. :good:
Hello all,
I'm having difficulty trying to run EFS Pro v2.0.70/v2.0.72 to backup my EFS folder on my GT-I9505. I get stuck at the part when it says "Initializing ADB server..." and it just sits there. I just want to point out that I had made a backup of my EFS folder on my GT-I9505 when I first got my phone (around May), but it seems to have been deleted! Anyway, I found some good steps in another thread, as follows:
Before starting, check the following:
Device is fully rooted
SuperSU (or equivalent) is active
USB debugging is ON (Settings->More->About device: Tap several times on "Build number" to enable Developer options and tick USB debugging)
Busybox downloaded AND installed (normal or smart) on your device
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 installed on your PC
Samsung USB driver is installed (either by installing Kies or just the driver alone.
Kies is not active (neither as application nor process, check Windows Taskmanager)
ADB fully functional ("adb devices" recognises your phone) -- (look here for a basic ADB tutorial/how to)
In case ADB is not running you need to install the ADB driver
Run EFS Professional as administrator.
Make sure to grant SuperSU access to Shell and confirm the RSA fingerprint request once they pop up on your screen.
Of course, your device should be on the home screen, not on the lock screen
I've followed all these steps, checking each methodically, and guess what, I'm still stuck at "initializing ADB server..."! I even go to cmd and type in "adb devices" and my phone shows up, I see on my phone that a shell has been granted, and yes, I am rooted, I have busybox, and Samsung drivers, .NET 4.0 framework and USB debugging, it's driving me mad, I've even tried different USB ports, and nothing!
If anyone has any suggestions, please fire away!
I have the exact same problem, but with my S3 (I9300) ...
No one who can help?
Did you get sorted my i9505 is the same and I have two phones but one wont work..
Hi All,
After seeming that I'm locked out of my own device for 72 hours, I managed to scour the net and use parts of other tutorials to successfully bypass the "you're device was reset, please log in" loop.
So I should point out I was running a Pure Nexus rom running 6.0 with a custom recovery, you're results may differ but you've got nothing to loose.
Pre Requisite
ADB and Fastboot - You don't need to spend an hour installing the whole kit, just visit http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html and scroll right down to the section where it says "SDK Tools Only" and click on "installer_r24.4.1-windows.exe"
Once installed the SDK manager will open, now make sure the top 3 are checked which are:
Android SDK Tools
Android SDK Platform-tools
Android SDK Build-tools
And also scroll down in the list to find Google USB Driver
Once all of that is done download the latest Google USB drivers (although the SDK installs USB drivers it still shown an exclamation mark in device manager") http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html
To install those USB drivers just go into device manager and if you se Nexus 6 under "Other Devices" just right click and click update driver software and then click browse my computer and get it to scan the Google USB driver folder you downloaded.
restart your phone into recovery (Volume Down and Power button)
now again in device manager make sure the Nexus 6 doesn't have a yellow icon identifying there's a problem with drivers or that the nexus 6 is listed in other devices. If either of those are present right click and update drivers > browse from computer and select the Google USB drivers you downloaded previously.
Bypass FRP
With all that confirmed restart your Nexus and leave it on the Welcome screen.
Now, you need to get into platform tools which is located:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools
if you can't see AppData you need to enable hidden files and folders
once in platform tools hold SHIFT and right click any blank space and click "Open command window here"
then type "adb devices" and it should list your nexus under devices, if it doesn't open device manager and check your drivers.
If it does show your nexus execute this command which edited from another source:
"adb shell am start -n com.android.settings/.Settings"
Your nexus will now open the settings menu =] in settings go to "Backup & reset" then click "Factory data reset" (although it says it wipes user data, mine was untouched, I can't say the same for so you may lose some data if you proceed)
your phone will reboot and in my case it opened my custom recovery and executed a script, the phone will restart again and go to boot, hold the power button to force shut down the nexus and boot into recovery mode. In recovery mode flash a ROM, if you don't have a ROM download one on your PC and then connect your Nexus to your PC via USB and copy it over.
Once the ROM is installed you won't get the "you're device was reset" screen.
"
You left out some key details which are covered in the guide I wrote up a few days ago. Here's the link.

this does not work, because in order to adb devices to populate anything you would of had to enable usb debugging from within the phone, and if you're locked our from FRP, you cant access the settings to turn on the usb debugging
Bootloader LOCKED .. and asking for gmail ID ??
Been trying to get an adb connection to this phone. I'm on the latest Sprint available OTA (NMJ32F). Have not side loaded the later version. Never rooted.
When connecting the phone to PC, device manager shows "Essential Phone ADB" is working properly. I also tried the Google generic ADB driver. The phone also shows a notification "ADB debugging is connected. Tap to disable".
"adb devices” always returns empty. I am able to adb other devices.
I think the problem is the phone is not asking me to authorize the ADB connection as my other phones and tablets normally do.
Any idea?
Did you get permissions on your phone when popup appears?
No. The phone doesn't pop up the permission question. But I don't know why.
Don't know but as long as you don't give permission you can't sideload

Try the usb driver and SDK platform tools directly from Essential website:
https://www.essential.com/developer/current-builds
I am using the drivers from Essential website. However, I was using the lastest Unified Android Toolkit for the adb command. Looks like it may be outdated, as the adb.exe and it's dll's in the link from Essential website is newer. I will try the platform tools from there and see if there is a difference.
Thanks!
Is USB debugging enabled in Developer settings?
Are you in Fastboot? Did you try "fastboot devices"?
ADB devices returns your device is offline?
Y cant i get fastboot drivers to read in Windows 10. I have updated the software to the latest update. Developer options are turned on. USB configuration is set to file transfer. In a regular state Windows 10 readds the phone and I can access the contents of the phone. I opened a power shell (regular and as admin) I typed "adb devices" it reads. (I have enabled advanced reboot.) I use the command "adb reboot-bootloader" in boots to fastboot. Now it loses connection. I Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows Key+R. Type “devmgmt.msc” besides Android is a yellow triangle, then click Update Driver.A new window will pop up. Select the ‘Browse my computer for driver software’ option. I copied the drivers from the OnePlus 5 folder. Try to install but nothing. This is where in stuck. Please help. Thanks
