Smartwatch with real 5MP camera and Android 4.4.x - Other SmartWatches

Hello,
I'm searching for a smartwach with a REAL 5MP-Camera. All the watches I found so far have a 5MP-Camera (as written in the specs), but when you take a closer look, they only have 5MP interpolated. No real 5MP.
Is there such a watch real 5MP? Does it have android 4.4.x? Ist it waterproof (so I can take a shower with it)...just dreaming...?
Bye and thanks.

inWatch Z 3G. 1 gb RAM, 4 gb ROM $199, ships from California, USA!

Fifine w9
The fifine w9 from gearbest or everbuying is simply the best watch with android 4.4.2(KitKat) and (real)5mp camera you can buy for the price and for alot of other reasons(like wearing in the shower: yes you can). You won't buy a smart watch with better build quality and it supports sim card and 3g data and has clear calls to and from watch. Check it out. Its a no brainer.

[Q] Questions on Oppo find 5 before buying it

Hi everyone,i am in the market for a new phone.
I have been following general reviews of Htc one and Samsung galaxy s4, but in the end i always liked the htc one for its build quality, expecially considering that i owned the Google htc nexus one, that recently broke down.
The problem with the Htc one is the cost. I personally think spending more than 400 euros on a phone is foolish, and both the Htc one and Samsung s4 cost 699 euro, just way too much.I would fear carrying it around, and dropping it, or even scratching in anyway.
and thus i am looking at the Oppo find 5 and its general build quality, great screen, quite powerful, rom support and everything.
And in the other hand, i am also looking at the Huawei Ascend P6 (pictured), which has:
Quadcore 1,5 Ghz
2 gb ram
720 x 1280 pixels (321 ppi)
8 mpx back camera which records 1920x1080 (1080p HD) + 5 mpx frontal
removeable microsd card, and supports microhdsc
Fast mobile data support (4G)
4.7 inches display, (120 g)
2000 mAh battery
for 399 euros.
Considering this, i would like some suggestions or advice on why is the Oppo find 5 better or worse than the other contenders, and what did you like the most about your Find 5, how do you use it.

I am also interested in this...
In particular, I hear a lot talking about the bad quality of the camera on the Oppo Find 5. The camera is for me very important. Do you guys think it will really improve with the updates? Is it true that at the moment the quality is very bad in low light conditions and that the camera app does not have a lot of functionalities?
Another issue would be software optimisation... I read on this forum some people are complaining about heavy lags. I think this is pretty annoying for a 400 euros device...
Many thanks for your time.

camera suggestion
Well, for the camera, I think Oppo is working to fix that, but in the meantime you can use an app called ProCapture, which takes very high quality, uncompressed pictures. In the official oppo forums, you can see comparisons And I was in the same boat as you, doing research, and comparing prices, on used versions of the phones on Swappa. I was very much leaning towards HTC One myself. But In the end I took a chance to go with an Oppo F5. It arrives wednesday, comes with all accessories, and 3 cases. And I still have money to buy a few extra stuff for it Good luck with your choice!
Hi I recently got a white Oppo Find 5 and I will try to answer your question. I root all my phones and run AOKP or CM10 cause i think I am cool.
In the past year I have gone from:
Samsung Galaxy Nexus (unlocked) >
Nexus 4 >
Note II >
Fonepad >
Note II >
Oppo Find 5
Of these the nexus 4 has the best design, but not easy to use. It always slid off my lap, crappy data, other probs
The galaxy nexus had the best software, it ran ICS like a ****ing champ, no lag, no crashes, butter.
The Note II was the best daily driver, a good balance of battery life, software, build quality.
However the Oppo feels the best in my hand. The screen is the best I have seen on a phone. When I show it to people, it gets the reaction the first galaxy got. "That is a bright screen". In broad daylight, with polarized sunglasses on, I have no trouble seeing the screen. BEST ****ING PHONE FOR SUMMER 2013 FOR THIS REASON. That and everyone thinks its a sony lol. The battery life sort of sucks, my unofficial taste-test says it is about the same as the Nexus 4.
If you need battery life or you want something a little more "Mainstream", get a note II or the HTC one x+, both have some recent hardware and can be found for $350 USD used.
Good luck!

The battery life varies, I have been using the original firmware for about 3 days now after trying out CM 10.1 which has a better battery life BUT it loses signal and the camera is only using 5 megapixels. They(CM) is working on all this and trust me...they will have a bad ass rom once they are through.
I am honestly waiting on the final release of Firefly to be released and then i will really decide on whether or not to keep this phone. I love the built quality and it has a lot of potential, BUT potential doesn't make you a winner. I have patience though, and will wait.
If not I am either going back to the Nexus 4, or getting an Xperia Z.

Haha
even before the real Apple iWatch is released, there is already a clone. If it is true, this is the smartwatch with the best price / performance ratio i've seen so far.
The eBay seller sent me a URL to the manufacturer's site. After a trip through Google Translate, it's not nearly as interesting. Bummer.
The screen is <1" with 96x64 resolution and a 180mah battery. My guess is that it has about the same capabilities as a U8 watch. If anyone can translate the rest of the page, that would be interesting.
http://www.goophone.hk/product-74.html
This watch has less than the capabilities than the U8 watch. Definitely isn't MTK6572 nor Android. It runs nucleus RTOS, but a very stripped down one color UI. Like this watch:

Buy or not Meizu M5 PRO? Or rather a Nexus 6P?

Meizu 5 Pro has best processor of Android (Exynos 7420), sd card, nice AMOLED screen with 1080P, great battery (4th on battery life tests this year), and great price also (450 Euros).
But is Meizu....
¿Do you think is a good buy?
Or would be better a Huawei 6P with
Google support for two years and stereo speakers
Better camera and screen
but
Worse battery and processor
No sd
More expensive (200 euros more)
¿Does Meizu give software support with latest Android? ¿Which one you prefer? (you can put other smarthphones on the equation also)
I want to answer your question by comparing both phones in each category.
Design:
I started with design part because, for me it's very important part. I like meizu pro 5 design much more than 6p not saying 6p is not good but, 2.5D glass with looking similar to Iphone in front is not a bad thing in meizu and better than 6p here. I prefer Fingerprint as a home button on meizu at the front much more than in 6p at the back. ( Not to mention how innovative home button of meizu will change the way of using this phone when you getting used to it and you cannot compare it with any other android phone). Also design of meizu at the back is also more beautiful in my opinion as it's a little similar to htc one series. Also 10g less weight in meizu should be a little more suitable in hand.
Camera:
About camera in meizu it does pretty decent job in good light maybe even better than 6p specially better in detail comparison but, in low light you should either use manual mode or accept quality of auto mod which is not bad but, differently 6p is better but, not much better.
Selfie with front camera is definitely better (more detail) in 6p but, for internet both do good job here.
Processor:
The main problem in 6p is qualcomm 810 processor which is a big no for me specially compare to Exynos 7420 which is arguably the best in the market for now (even compare to karin 950) and you will never feel a hot phone in your hand or lag due to hot temperature of cpu and much more energy efficient than Q 810. (Not fan of Antutu benchmarks but, recently Meizu take the crown from Huawei karin 950 chipset in Huawei Mate 8!)
Softwere:
On the other hand meizu apparently is new to world market and cannot support their phone like google but, in future with custom roms it will be okay I think (do not expect near future!) Meizu does not come with unlock bootloader and apparently there is no way to unlock it and it may take so long to either someone manage to unlock it (very difficult + lack off good developers due to less popularity of meizu and the phone itself) or company give us a way to do it so, do not except support of developers or company like 6p. Meizu will definitely upgrade meizu pro 5 to marshmallow but, time is unknown.
Also if you really like pure android experience which I don't! heavily skin of Flyme OS on top of android in meizu may become a big problem for you. Lack of app drawer or design of home screen or even default apps are not a big deal as you can get a good launchers now a day specially with htc sense launcher and apps but, other part like setting menu and notification drawer and etc will be always the flyme one!
Screen
Comparing the screen, there should not be much differences as both phones using very similar amoled technology and panel. Yes 2k vs full hd but, 2k display of 6p is not as good as samsung new flagships like gs6 or note 5. Brightness of both phones are almost similar. I don't think you will notice the differences here in display part in daily usage because, differences of 2k displays are not very recognizable in human eyes in phones bellow 7" screens. But, if it does for you it's just a little more sharper but, not better in contrast, color and etc.
In 6p you will get gorilla glass 4 which is better when you drop the phone and can manage much more pressure here but, not as good as gorilla glass 3 (meizu pro 5) in scratch resistance part. If you use screen protector no problem here for both phones.
Audio:
Yes 6p has dual speaker in front which is more suitable when watching something or listening to musics with speakers but, meizu on the other hand support Hi-Fi audio so, provide much better quality sound specially when you plug a headphone which 6p was unfortunately poor here.
Hardware/Connectivity/Network/Battery:
Lack of memory support is again a big downside of 6p compare to meizu plus 2 sim in meizu vs 1 in 6p (in meizu 2 sim if you don't use sd card) .
For connectivity both doing great and not very different here. You have more 4g bands support in 6p but, if you don't live in USA you will not loose here. Meizu definitely is much better in battery part as you know so, no more words here. Also meizu charge the battery a little faster than 6p specially if you charge 6p with retail charger in it's package which the plug is weaker than meizu fast charger plug. (No need to buy faster plug in meizu).
Okay I don't know if I left anything else and hope it helps you to choose the best option but, personally I will choose meizu here as you mention the price of 6p I don't think it wrote 200 euro more just for a little better camera, speaker and screen VS it's downs. But, if you cannot live without latest version of android and faster support of google or with Flyme OS of meizu better to go for 6p. ( The only real downside of meizu compare to 6p currently before unlocking the bootloader of pro 5)

If you look at the prices, i will go for Letv Lemax, the most powerful android phone, that will be out soon and will cost about 530 USD with new snapdragon 820 and with antutu benchmark about 120 000. It have 64/128GB ROM, 4GB ram, QHD dipley, 21 MPX camera, USB 3.0 type C, atc.

6.33-inch display! wow huge for a phone!
Plus 2 MP front camera is not good for selfie + not amoled screen + 3400mAh battery definitely is not good in 2k IPS LCD display and you should wait at least 3 more months if not more for outside of china; And 530 usd price (price of 32gb with no expandable storage) is unconfirmed and if it cost 530$ it will be in china not outside so, definitely expect 600$+
The only upside is the cpu which we don't know how well it's until it comes out plus OIS in camera. Qualcome did awful job in 810
I've used both and the camera on the Meizu is far better than the 6P.

Xperia X vs Xperia Z5 display and camera (amazing)

I didn't make this video. I wanted to share it since I found that the video shows the true potential of the Xperia X series.
Display is a lot better than the normal Xperia Z5(fhd).
You will see a difference in the camera quality as well.

Credits to mobile geeks.de for making such a good comparison between Z5 and Xperia X series. :fingers-crossed:
Really looks like an exciting device. Just about the same size as the N5, but a little heavier...metal back and general Sony goodness. I love it - sold.
Would be nice if it was available sometime before 2017 though. In the US. With regular software security updates.
Oh there wont be a Z6. I still thought they continue there as well...

Source? I still believe there will be a Z6 as the 2016 sony flagship at the end of the year.
The Z5 is still very new as it's only been out for a few months right? I believe Sony stated that they will only release 1 flagship phone instead of the usual 2 per year. Also i believe the X series are being advertised as "mid-ranged" phones (Besides the Xperia X performance ofc)

I wouldn't count that as a reliable source. But if that is true then the xperia x performance is pretty much an xperia z6 in disguise.
Why would they make a Z6 if they have the XP? Lol. XP is the new flagship.
I hope the X is only around $400. I've always just wanted a mid-range phone with a high end camera. Only thing that stopped me from getting the Nexus 5X was no sd-card and my Z3 is still good.
imho sony really messed up the pricing on this ones :| 599eur for the x with a 1080p 5" screen , snapdragon 650 and 2600mah battery???? what are they thinking?
699eur for the x performance sounds a little better with the snapdragon 820 but spending 700eur to upgrade from my z2 to this is not worth it for me unless a z6 is announced with better specs my next phone probably won't be a sony :crying:

Sony just lost me as a customer.... x series brings nothing new, the prices are crazy and since Z series is dead that's it for me.
My next device will probably be a xiaomi mi5 pro or the lg g5. I'm not in a hurry to upgrade my z2 (still a great phone 2 years later) so i'll wait until the mi5 and g5 are released to see how the xda community reacts to them i need to be sure their bootloaders can be unlocked and custom roms are available before i consider any of them.

So a LETTER was what you chose Sony for in the first place. Wow.
The smoothness of the OS, the camera, the great Aosp support of existing devices nor even the water/dust rating with almost a decade legacy of doing this in their phones, nor even the quality audio and accessories being innovative.
Sure go a ahead and deal with the competition. Personally it would be smarter to stick with Sony getting the Z line even 6 months from now as support under warranty will still continue until all sales of that device stopped.
Where do you kids think life and products are about? Change is inevitable! Get over the letter "X" drove huge success for Sony 6yrs ago why not try to repeat that.
It's a VRRY crowded market and consolidation the screen size is smart. Making the phones interact with us as humans is genius because looking down at my phone for a total of 3hrs combined a day feels unnatural in my neck - I do body build!
I want real world performance not a spec sheet that doesn't perform!!
I just bought a Z5 full retail and I'm very happy. I'll get the Z5C as a backup especially when travelling. I'll see the upgrade to the Xperia X Performance or whatever Sony brings next year. Not going to cry over spilt milk cause they made a very conscious and rational change in their product lineup.
Grow up.

AHAH do you work at sony marketing and you got offended by my opinion? Cause your post makes no sense otherwise... When i bought my z2 almost 2 years ago it was THE top notch device. 3GB RAM, snapdragon 801, great screen, comfortable size, nice front stereo speakers, waterproof, huge battery, the best camera at the time, etc. It was very easy to justify it's flagship price and i still love the damn phone almost two years later.
Obviously i don't care about letters, naming or brands, i care about specs, functionality and price. That's were the X series fails for me because it brings nothing new to the table except slightly upgraded hardware. my biggest problem with the X series is the price range sony is placing the devices at giving it's specs, nothing else. I don't feel like an X performance is worth 700eur to upgrade from my Z2 (i would get a better cpu and camera, nothing else...i can get a z5p for less than 600eur and it still feels like a better option than the x for me).
IF you feel like it's worth it buy it, enjoy it, and stop criticizing other people opinions. I don't have a sentimental attachment to any brand so it's easy for me to choose the device that fits my needs for the best price am i not free to do that?
Honestly if i change to another brand the only thing i'll miss it's the great dev community sony has here at xda. and that doesn't include you obviously

But going by your own logic there, the Xperia X is a worthy flagship, no?
It has the fastest cpu,
It has the fastest ram
It has improved screen,
It has stereo speakers
And the improved camera.
Take it from me, I have no intention in buying X, because I have Z5p. But come IFA, the letter won't mean jack if the specs match my expectations of a flagship.

It has the fastest ram --> only 3gb, benchmarks not available yet so not sure it'll be the fastest ram available.
It has improved screen --> maybe be improved color wise but it's smaller and the same technology.
It has stereo speakers --> check (and if i go to another brand i'll definitively miss the front stereo speakers a LOT )
And the improved camera --> somewhat, will have to see after the device is released
For a sony 2016 flagship i think it's missing usb 3.0 connectivity (deal breaker for me in 2016) , a bigger battery, 4gb of ram and at the very least 64gb of FAST internal storage. Wireless charging and an ir blaster would be an welcome bonus but not a deal breaker.
The screen size drop to 5.0" makes no sense to me either especially given the 68.1% screen-to-body ratio. 5.2 or 5.5" as in z5p would be fine.
AGAIN i'll have to reinforce I NEVER said the x series is a sh*t device (quote me if a did), i'm just stating my personal opinion that it doesn't feel like a true flagship, especially for the 700eur price.
Anyway this will be the last post i'll make on this thread. I have only stated MY opinion, i've not been aggressive/stupid and i did not make any personal attack against anyone. I don't know why some people are turning this into a personal war, and i do have better stuff to do with my time so i'm out.

Spoken like a true child.
My post makes perfect sense but I see already you're beginning to backpedal from someone whom just quoted you. I'll break it down for you.
1. only a child on forums (cliché of the last 4yrs) claims someone who doesn't agree with their opinion about a brand works for said brand (first bold quote above). Hence why I said grow up!
2. When i bought my z2 almost 2 years ago it was THE top notch device
^ I stated that sales are affecting Sony's decision here to consolidate screen size and the specs along with shipping times and the brand sub-model here. SPECIFICATIONS like Skills or knowledge means nothing. It's sales to a company that continues to be a going-concern (accounting term) to make revenues that turn into profits and when sales don't go in that regard changes are inevitable for good or for worse, get used to this regardless if you don't like or do like the device ... change is here and in perfect timing. And like skills or knowledge both mean nothing without the means and the will to act ... using them (like drawing talent in a child that doesn't wish to pursue a career in that regard, drawing or visual arts is a useless skill).
3. great screen, comfortable size, nice front stereo speakers, waterproof, huge battery
Xperia Z5 Premium boasted the best screen (at least in terms of resolution and ppi).
The LG G Pro also released in April 2014 as teh Z2 had Li-Ion 3200 mAh battery http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g_pro_2-6052.php
having a huge battery ... means nothing if the cpu, screen, storage and ram guzzles. Battery consumption efficiency and recharging efficiency is KEY because it's all about using the device.
4. Price ... this is a HUGE concern for what you get. No disagreements here from me ... BUT I did specifically state it's about getting more sales but more profits (the key) for Sony.
3 phones all sharing 5" LCD displays and resolution
All have the same storage options - consolidating and benefiting on economies of scale.
what you get vs what you loose in bold below. I've left out the battery because nobody knows the talk-time (continuous) standby time or continuous video/music playback times between the two on a production phone BUT if it increases you may reconsider.

At the end of the day your opinions are yours to make ... just stop being so childish about it and realize you can VOTE with your hard earned cheddar! Seems you didn't get this the first time around.
Why the fight?
I agree with @ptmaniac that its a decent phone; but its targeted for mid-rangers because the price is definitely a deal-breaker for specs like that of mid-2015.
Sony has made VERY GOOD phones in the past but coming up with X series with little to no improvements - puts the deal off. (4gb RAM, AMOLED Screen, at-least Better photo Quality on your phones when you use the same sensor you distribute to others) (My Note5, costing lesser, will defeat XP on all grounds. Wait till the phone comes in market and check out the comparison people do).
I myself have been a user of Z1 Compact (A true mini flagship) for 1.5 years, but NOW Sony doesn't feel like they are giving any value-for-money devices.
+1 on the support for Sony devices on xda. Kudos to every1 on that.
Its a personal opinion in the end. You want to buy, please go ahead and enjoy
We just dont feel like spending 700 for a mid-ranger specd phone.
Don't say we when you mean you. Again its a difference of opinion and view. Not a fight. We've already worked out our views in PM. No need to investigate.
The Z5compact is also a true small form flagship device: none has the same 810 CPU with 2GB ram and 32GB internal storage! None.
Since you're talking about a 3generation old phone you haven't seen value for the dollar in almost 3yrs not sure how you're even mentioning about this product. You mention awaiting for comparison but state camera should be better? Conundrum?

Overall love

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Nokia 7.1, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Nokia 7.1 is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Uhm, I don't understand: has the Nokia 7 Plus not seen a worldwide release?
The 7+ is older but:
Has the snapdragon 660 vs 636 (you can play Asphalt 9 on High Quality).
No notch.
No glass backplate.
Costs 310 instead of 349.
This new 7.1 does not make sense in the HMD Nokia line up, it is the successor of the 7 (no global release), nearly identical to the Nokia 6.1/2018 and is more expensive/less worth than the 7 plus from last year!
How can you love this phone?
Even the Nokia 8 (Snapdragon 835, OLED) is cheaper now.
the phone is overrated, i'll wait the price drop to 289 for the 64GB version, just my opinion

7 plus doesn't have US LTE bands. This one does.
Whoops, that reply is to the first post.
I pre ordered the midnight blue after watching a few videos, but second guessing my color choice. I’m warming up to the steel color. Being in the US, none of the other Nokia’s they brought here interested me, but seems like Nokia knocked it out with this one.
For someone that cares only about processor and RAM, there’s other options with trade offs, but I look at the whole package and this seems very well rounded with all the features you need for day-to-day use.
camera specs look good
beautiful design
$350 USD seems fair
4gb/64gb
headphone jack
Android One (!)
flagship build quality
NFC
real time HDR
modern 19:9 ratio
SD card support
all sensors seem to be inside.
not phablet sized
Notch doesn’t bother me and I actually prefer a phone to have one now. I tried to go back notchless, and it bothered me seeing all that unused space up top.
Nokia 6.1 is an affordable option,
It's a good phone for my grandma as she at most uses at most 5 apps.
3GB of ram can is not really enough for daily usage, it'll freeze/lockup sometimes
I had to change the background tasks limit it to 3 for my dad.
Nokia 7.1 is a much better device imo
I don't mind the notch, I can do with or without,
it's a necessary design choice for many manufacturers who wants to make smaller phones with higher screen display ratio,
this will continue until we have in-display Camera/Sensors/(Speakers?)
then we might see it mostly disappear with only few makers appealing to a niche crowd who likes them for aesthetic reasons.
It sits right between $450-500 flagship killers, (Oneplus 6)
and motorola G6 (this design... I'd take the notch over that any second)
this one is $350,
nice aluminum frame and design
has a good camera (most phones in this range have just okay cameras)
guarantee monthly security updates, and major updates over 2 years
4gb/64gb is now considered minimum for daily usage, I can't go with anything less...
Dual SIM
HDR 10bit with that nice LCD display
...etc

Agree with this whole post. Only other phone I would see as a viable alternative for US users is the Blu Vivo XI+ and not sure I'd trust Blu.
Note on 7.1 Setup:
While unboxing, when phone says Update is available and starts downloading it, avoid hitting "pause" as it causes phone to go in a loop, and will require a restart to "set up" the phone.
