Conoscete qualche alternativa ??

Hello to all… I have a strange problem: when use the program and then I close it, me it remains active the task between the processes (and it occupies to me very 16MB of memory)… and naturally it is not possible to close it… The only way “to clean up it” from the memory is the soft reset…
Do you know any solution ????
Thank you
I Had the same problem, use X-button application from HTC.
It works very well.

Nothing ... also with X-button the program gpstuner.exe remain in memory ...
There isn't a way for close it....
I had only do a soft reset ....
GPSTuner quit
Go to GPS panel (tap satellite dish icon far r.h.s., bottom)
Tap satellite dish icon again to get Settings
Tap white cross in red circle just under normal Windows Mobile "x"
I emailed the author with the problem, even after going through Memory/Running Programs and selecting Stop for GPSTuner, memory was not freed up. He suggested the latest version of .Net Compact Framework needed installing but I discovered the above in the meantime. I don't think it is mentioned anywhere in the manual!

Hi!
I am evaluating to buy an HTC Advantage (second hand, of cour$e). I'm a former Nokia N800 owner, and finally I've decided to sell it because I was unable to get full use because of the lack of professional PIM soft. Despite that, was a nice tablet, web browsing was pretty good and video capability was also nice. Again, the lack of useful soft was deathly for me. My questions here (I hope no bother with my silly questions) are:
a) As I was reading, there is no way to attach the Advantge to my pc to easy transfer songs, movies and others files. AFAIK that should be done thru Activesync or an application that enables the HTC act as mass storage (as I was reading, not very easy to use by the way). Is there any other option that easily let me just connect the htc to my pc and just drag and drop files?
b) I was reading a lot of post here and in others forums and I am really concerned about the video playback performance...I am not very demanding regarding video quality, just want to see a movie or clip just fine, with no video audio synchronization problems.
c) Is the gps useless if I can't pay for any service? (This is my first gps device)
d) The htc that probably I will buy will have the rom in english; Is it possible to install it in spanish? or at least, any other option to change the dialogs and menues in spanish?
e)What is the experience with streaming radio? Can you play any internet radio stream or is there problems with some of them?...What about Youtube video playback?
Thanks in advance, I really will appreciate your time if you can answer my questions.
If somebody want to know something about the N800/N810, I have a year of "experience" using it, and I can give an honest, non very techy opinion, just as normal user. Thanks again.
Music: You can sync with Activesync... Windows Media play lists and libraries can be transferred automatically. Drag and drop works fine too and is enabled using Activesync.
Video: Video is adequate for playback. People are whining because they didn't implement advanced features of the chipset.
GPS: GPS signals are available globally free of charge. People pay for advance map services. Google and Microsoft both provide excellent mapping tools at no charge. They lack the voice prompts and some of the other bells and whistles of the purchased apps, but work quite well.
Language: Localized languages are available but I have not messed with this.
Streaming media: Internet radio and Youtube work fine with the correct apps installed.
I've owned a few HTC products and have been very happy with them. Good luck!
Thanks for the info . I guess with more search on forums I will discover the codecs collection that are a must have.
I quite often just transfer cabs, movies, pics and other files from my host pc
to the 7501 via bluetooth, host pc uses usb plug-in bluetooth unit.
Video playback via native or Coreplayer is adjustable mine works great.
GPS free programs are a dime a dozen and if you can pickup an older
(2003-2006) Microsoft street/trips or MapPoint they come with pocket
pc apps and work with the onboard GPS receiver.Satellite use is free.
Youtube is viewable with right apps, check here on xda.
The phone works well although it sometimes proves cumbersome
when compared to some of the small cellphones.
The camera is ok but nothing to write home about, takes a fair pic
under the right conditions and is quite adjustable.
Many apps that run on 2003ce and WM5 run just fine
on 7501 under WM6 Pro.
Thanks bigtsr! You can't imagine how helpful are your comments.
I can assure that browsing thru differents forums, reviews, etc etc is an stressful task. I am almost decided to buy the Advantage, I felt in love with that gorgeous screen, and as times goes my eyes are demanding big screens (that was another problem with my N800).
Are you happy with the Advantage overall? I read a lot of people telling how much they are enjoying their units and how productive tool on the road it could be.
The software offer for the wm platform is incredible huge, what apps do you consider as "should have"?
You're right about the wide choice of software available on WM platform. These are some of my top picks :
- wktask (for task switching and a battary indicator)
- realVGA (must have)
- Tengo 2.1 keyboard or Tengo Thumb, depending on whether you're a stylus or thumb man.
- Softmaker office 2008 (gives you desktop functionalities in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation)
- SPB phone suite (a today plugin that allows you to change phone profile, a comm manager, photo dialing, mail/text/phone notification)
- SPB time (a today plugin that gives you a big digital clock, time for multiple city, alarm clock, stop watches, etc)
- SBSH Pocke Weather (puts a multiday weather forecast on your today screen. I like this particular weather program because it has weather stations of not just major cities but also lesser known towns. Also, it takes up very little space on the today screen)
- iLauncher (program launcher that provides SAFE mode reset. Get you out of trouble at times when the option would otherwise be a hard reset)
- Total Commander - file manager
- Cash Organiser premium (expense tracking, budgeting)
- HiCalc (multifunction calculator)
- Netfront 3.5 and Opera 9.5405 are the two top browsers at the moment.
- Resco Photo Viewer
- TCPMP with all the codecs
- iGO is the favourite GPS software
- Agendus Professional is my favourite software for calendar functions.
- VITO SMS-Chat is what I use for sending SMS
- VITO Contacts is my replacement for contact applications.
- For VOIP, I use SJPhone.
- I use WMWifiRouter to make my Athena a wifi access point for my notebook occassionally.
- GoogleMap is a cool GPS application that is free and gives you basic navigational capabilities.
- I use IM+ for internet chat.
- I use Sprite backup 6.1 and schedule my backup everyday with it.
- SKtools is a useful tools for tweaking your device.
- My favourite dictionary is Lexisgoo english dictionary
- For investement and trading, try MetaTrader 4 mobile
- Resco Keyboard works in all three DPI and does not invade your screen too much.
- SIP change is a utility that allows you to change your input method easily
- WM5torage lets you copy files high speed to and from your PC.
These are not all, but the main ones that you might want to take a look.
Cheers.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to why you think it is difficult to transfer files from your PC. With ActiveSDync on XP or WMDC on Vista, when you plug your phone in it just shows up as another drive and you can drag and drop to your hearts content.
Music can be synced directly from WMP including playlists and your contacts and outlook details sync automatically to Outlook.
WM5Storage is only needed for PCs that don't have WMDC or Activesync or for high speed transfer.
If you're loking for a PIM addition to Outlook then try Pocket Informant which is one of the many beniffits you get for free if you head over to www.modaco.com and pay to be a Plus member (the fee will be saved many times over in the free benefits)
Good luck
PS I prefer CoPilot 7 to iGo for GPS navigation
@eaglesteve: thanks for such a list of must have apps! I can assure that the lack of productive, professional developed apps on the Maemo platform used by the N8X0 is frustrating for those like me who want to do more than listen music, see a video or surf the web; and after a time since the N800 was released, no much changes about. There are people running kde on their tablets but I found it not very handy at all. It's a shame because the N8X0 series has the potential, but Nokia IMHO has left the whole tablet project kinda abandoned.I know beforehand that WM has the positive side of lots of apps out there, also the negative , is not a great platform regarding speed and optimal processor's use. I think also, only people involved in servers maintenance or technical work related with computers are really being productive with the soft available for the Nseries. The rest of us are suffering that poor software offer; and I should tell you, only for browsing and multimedia there are better options you can go (ipod touch may be the choice).
If I can get decent (just decent) browsing with the Advantage, decent (just decent) music and video playback and decent radio streamings capability, I will be ok. I don't really care about the phone aspects, I not intend to use it as a phone, and regarding the size, I will be ok with that. Maybe you can think "if this guy don't use the Advantage as a phone, why are he thinking in buy it; maybe he can go for the new ipaq 211"..simply because the Advantage's screen size and the keyboard, which is not great but is a keyboard anyway. And the gps is a nice extra too!!
@ Confucious: It will be my first experience with WM devices. My only pda ever was a palm like 15 years ago, and a hp lx95 or something like that (can't remember exactly the model), so I was scared about the activesync because never used it before
Thank you friends for your time to coming back for me!
Remember, some other features are "hideen" but are important too.
4 in 1 cable means you have your desktop PC everywere you have a monitor!
Connect TV or VGA out, bring a "mini mouse" with retractable cable...
Having a big 5' screen and using logmein.com (free) and a good data plan you are connected with YOUR home or office PC and you can work with youy XP or Vista
standard 3.5 earphone plug means for me... BOSE
DOUBLE storage (SD an Microdrive) is important in some condtions (if you have to remove your SD you can move the data on your microdrive) and using USB HOST you can copy from and to USB storage
Big means big battery, no problems in a long day using it, comparing with all other WM phones
and many others...

Thanks for the info! I am almost decided to buy the Advantage! $650 for a new unit is a good price? It comes with a freebie, a 2gb mini sdcard.
As per the cards, is there any not recommended brand? (I've read that sandisk is the better option...not kingston). The unit only takes minisd or microsd with the minisd adaptor, that's correct?
And finally, the vga output for external monitor connection is included from factory right? The 4 in 1 cable is the only option to have usb host mode?
Thanks all you folks for waste your time on me and my questions
I think I've started to feel like one Advantage owner, so....
Hi,
I am a (proud and) satisfied owner of a used with warranty (got it for ~530) X7501 since 2 weeks.
So your price for a new one is good I think.
My 2 cents after 2 weeks usage and tweaking (unlocked, using right now PK 3 dual rom)(moved up from HTC Wizard) what I don't like until now and need to tweak more (everything else is fantastic):
- Video performance
- Find a smaller case just for the unit
- Syncing via different connections to different PCs
- battery live (will get a spare and additional charger)
Otherwise with the level of tweaking and thanks to the great folks here it is much more flexible than the IPhone.

I don't know in US, but here with 430€ (650 USD) you can buy HALF Advantage!
Yes, mini or micro +adapter
Yes, VGA is included, Yes,4-1 to have USB
Ok, thanks again for the feedback. I will be in contact as soon as I can get the HTC on my hands.
Final question by now: as I've read, the realvga soft let's you change the language interface, is that correct? (Because the htc I'm going to get is from USA and I am spanish speaker). (If yes, that would be great, instead of put another rom)

Saludos y buena suerte.
Sorry to the rest of the people for writing in spanish but I could'n resist to do it.
Perhaps you ought to be asking more about battery life and weight/size of X7500
N800 is *much* better in both areas
Also web browsing on the N800 is much "snappier", WM6 device will feel slower/not as nice.
I had one, sold it, and now I want it back badly.
would definitely recommend it as the best WM device I've had. I havent playes on an n800, but i heard its very very fast. but i guess its designed to be a net tablet so it should be.
and defnintely install all the software eaglesteve suggested, even though its a long list, it will still easily fit on your rom, you wont even need to use the MD.
Have fun with your advantage, i wish I was buying one
Rory
Eh guys, thanks a lot for your useful comments...
I tell you I've made a decission, so the Advantage is coming to my house (maybe it will be here by the next week )
@rorydaredkign: hope you have one again soon!
@mardibloke: As I told in my first post, the N800 Nokia tablet was my previous "gadget" and I sold it, mainly because it was unable to give me productivity on the go; the lack of real pim soft plus no ms office at all (despite some attemps to get gnumeric and abiword work on it) was killer for me. I am a CPA, so, in my "working world" office is a major need. I don't think the battery life of the N8X0 series would be greater than the Advantage, and regarding the size, I was playing with a hard cardboard replica of the Advantage and feels fine, and because I should have with me an attache all day long is not a major problem in that area. I know beforehand that browsing experience could be worst with a WM device, but again, I need to trade off some things to gain some others, and the huge soft offer for WM devices, plus ms office compatibility is in my particular case a big plus. I have owned lots of mini pcs, subnotebooks or whatever you want to call it (to name a few vaio picturebook, fujitsu p1120, casiopea fiva, sony pcg-u1 (oh that sloooow crusoe´s) libretto's (100 and L1) eee pc (just hold it a month) Kohjinsha SA1 (Very nice mini laptop, but with a terrible keyboard!!)and so...yes, I know, I'm nuts, I'm an incurable ..always looking for the perfect portable, no full satisfaction but have had good times using and selling them...I was keeping my eye on the Flipstart too (after price was reduced to $700), but mainly because of the screen resolution I dismissed it (my eyes are not so good at my 40´s). I don't believe tha Advantage will be the one, but just want to give it a try...so funny times are coming, and only the time can tell..I should tell you that I've found that, in my case, I need to own a full laptop (already own one 14") and complement it with other that provides me instant access and portability..and again, maybe the Advantage can fill that gap. Ah, sorry for my english, poor Shakespeare!
A new beta of Opera 9.5 has just gone up today on the Opera website -
http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/products/
Opera MobileOverviewFeaturesDownloadOpera Mini or MobileOpera Mobile 9.5 beta 2
Windows Mobile 5/6 Pocket PC, version 9.51b2
(Touchscreen-based devices only - Last updated: 20.10.2008)
Known issues
ActiveX is disabled - Flash plugins and embedded video streaming do not work.
Custom software keyboards (IME) will be buggy at best, not working at worst.
No multilingual build - Only English is supported. Problems with other languages (and input methods) are not unexpected.
Installation on memory cards may cause problems.
Text wraps in overview mode.
Main testing has been done on English HTC devices (Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, Touch, Touch Dual, Touch Cruise, TyTN and Wizard) and Samsung i900.
Landscape mode does not take keyboard position into consideration.
Devices with low memory might get Out Of Memory (OOM) messages.
Opera is always running when the Widgets Manager is running.
On devices with hight DPI some of the pre-installed widgets look small.
When an URL is opened from a widget, there will be an extra browser window opened in the background that's not working properly.
What is the build of this version??
What the heck is going on?
So does anyone get the game they seem to be playing. The build we have her on XDA (2392) doesnt have most of these problems. It's almost like two completely different companies are working on similar products. I don't get it. I really like 2392 (and some earlier ones) I use it almost exclusively. (no IE) I think 2392 is closer to being a RC than the public beta the are putting out.

i am pleased with this new beta. its a little faster than the 2300 build. the zoom is much quicker and more smooth. i did notice some tearing in the graphics when it first starts up....but nothing crazy.
I don't like the new color scheme ... I hope there will be a way to have the old black color scheme with this version...

ActiveX is disabled - Flash plugins and embedded video streaming do not work.
For English people:
Nothing interesting, trust me...just a noob question about something already explained in the first post of this thread.
