I have a SM-900V from Verizon and am wondering if:
I can root it
I can install a custom rom, and if so, some ideas on good roms
If the answer to 1 or 2 is yes, please post instructions or links as I have never rooted or installed a custom rom. I am running Android 5.0 and am tired of the bloatware and inability to use external sd card. I keep running out of space on my internal ~10GB storage.
Thanks.

I have been reading the articles to get ROOT OR CWM 7.014.2_COM_GEN2 but everybody says it can't be done. However I have seen roms pop up. Guys I just purchased this tablet 2 days ago. I thought it would had been easy to root and install cwm. However I let the updates install one after another. ANYONE PLEASE provide me with some instructions on getting cwm or root on here and I can take care of the other. Thanks guys for your help

Thanks. Worked great for me no issues
hey, so I got this phone out of a trade and I just want to sell it, so I'm thinking of installing a newer rom to make the phone stand out a bit more
right now it has android 1.6 on it
what I'm wondering is, if it's possible to install a new rom on the internal memory, as it doesn't have a memory card
If anyone's willing to post the necessary links, I can take it over from there, it's just that I don't have much time for research these days as I'm busy with work
I've seen JB roms, so if their stable, I would like those, however I don't think it's possible to install them without memory card, is it?
You need a SD card as recoveries scan through SD card for ROMs to be flashed..
Its possible to move a file in the root directory , using root file explorers , uhhm but using it as storing space for a ROM sounds a bit..uhhmm..awkward :/

i'm not sure, but if you find some rom that has fasboot img-s available then you can do it without sdcad.
but first, if you have stock 1.6, then you'll need to upgrade your firmware + unlock bootloader ( 2.1 + fastboot) with kdz updater.

edit
sorry, I missed your link, was tired, thank you!
I have no idea if its MF3 or anything,I don't even know how to find that out!
I had my SII X and Galaxy Ace rooted,so I know a bit. I already have Rom Manager installed but I don't wanna **** my phone up. I only wnana root it to put apps on the sd card and maybe delete some useless apps. But I don't plan on adding a ROM im extremely happy with the Samsung Firmware and all. Is it even worth rooting? I mean I can live without it lol....I just wanna use my sd card more cause I don'T wanna overload my internal storage.
SO how do I root it? I did teh update that they suggested me,its on 4.2.2
Thanks!
Questions go in Q&A. I know you have prior rooting knowledge and mean well in your post but you really do need to do a bunch of reading up before you continue. Cheers

Hello, I just rooted my phone through chainfirez method and made a backup with clockworkmod and backed up the efs files. I saved both of them to my desktop, sd card, and uploaded it to dropbox. I can't seem to find any good instructions on how to install a custom rom or the pros/cons of them. Does anyone know a guide for beginners on selecting and installing roms? Thanks for any help. My phone is the S4 i337m from Fido (Rogers).
Basically, find any Canadian S4 compatible ROM, read the OP. Any ROM thread will have instructions on how to install it correctly. With today's phones, there is no one good source for instructions on installing all ROMs. Each ROM will vary. Just pick a ROM and do what the OP tells you.

Just find the trends that have the info you need and have some patience and read read read. What i like about this forum is that everything is so detailed and easy to understand. Sometimes you have to do trial and error and you learn from the result and apply the knowledge for future reference.
Like the others said, it depends highly on the rom you want to install and you should always follow the steps in the thread of the rom. For your peace though look at the CyanogenMod site.
I'm on 98.15.66 i have root and UL b/loader. I have tried cyanogenmod11 and i couldn't get any radio signal whatsoever. So i went back to stock. I now want to try mhous33's DST Odexed 98.30.1 ROM, as it has been recommended by several people here.
I am not a dev and a bit of a noob at android i just got my M a few weeks ago. I don't know very much but am keen to learn. I don't like how manufacturers set up the device that i paid for and wish to take back control. I understand most of the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442384&nocache=1 on how to install the ROM except for the instruction "3/ Mount System". Could someone please explain to me what this means? And any other advice or help for a naive noob would be very much appreciated.
[I tried to post over at the thread concerning the ROM in question but am not allowed to]
When someone says to "mount system"or data or something similar it means to look for an option in your custom recovery generally called "mounts and storage" once semester you'll see a submenu with options such as mounting storage and firmware and recovery etc. Hope this helps.

There are more goodies on the Telstra JB rom & if you go to DST first the Telstra is a direct flash NO data wipe. The prep flash neither.
Thanks again, ROM flash worked fine. No bugs or problems so far...
