Well essentially I am looking at buying the Nexus 6P from the US google store and have been unsuccessful so far since its out of stock (looking at the 64 GB Graphite).
So the question is will the US model work on the LTE bands in Australia?

Hi, I was thinking about this too. Price is also a massive factor.

Thanks for that link. Its quite informative. Alas getting to order from the US is near to impossible. I have been trying to order from the Huawei site using a US postal address that i have from shopmate (https://shopmate.auspost.com.au) but the order does not process possibly because the credit card I am using is an Australia one. Don't know how to go about it.

There are services such as Shipito that do something called "assisted buying". I am not sure how the process works but they order it for you so you can bypass that.

Been looking around and I can't find any information if the Focus will be available unbranded. I live in Australia on the Telstra network who uses the same band as AT&T (850 MHz) so compatibility is not an issue.
According to Paul Thurrott in his Windows Weekly podcast this is the one to have. Amazing screen, amazingly thin and light and has expandable storage.
Now, where can us folk in the UK get hold of this handset from unlocked?
Scott Whitmore,
I would trade you a Focus for a Omnia 7. I live in the US but don't like how the focus look and would like to get the Omnia 7 instead.

Sorry, the Omnia is not available on my network. I'm thinking of just getting a Mozart and then selling it when the HD7 comes out. I've looked around and I can't find the Focus unbranded. I don't want a branded model.

I wouldn't trust this site, I've found numerous people complaining of scams that have occurred.
Anyone else know if this phone will be available unlocked for purchase?
I'm wondering if you can just buy it at full price and ask for unlock code

plenty of users on xda-developers have bought phones off negri electronics and have been very happy with the service.
I think the issue with these sellers is that there is no after sales service. In most cases you don't need one. Samsung has good QA and I have been satisfied with most of their products. But if you are unfortunate and need to exchange or return the phone, you might be out of luck.
I've ordered a number of things from Negri and never had any issues. They have always shipped fast AND they actually care about their customers. I'm curious where you saw they were a scam from?
The two things I really like about Negri is they aren't afraid to tell you straight, there is no BS with them. Also they just passed along savings on shipping to everyone because they were able to negotiate a better deal with this shipping company. How many companies can you say will do that for their customer.
I would order from them
I haven't ordered anything from Negri Electronics but, I have heard a lot of good things about them. You are definitely ordering from real people, that much I know. From what I've seen they answer loads of questions quickly on Twitter. I am getting a new phone soon and I will definitely be ordering from them.
You can easily buy an unlocked Focus from ebay (as I did) or even Amazon. Most likely it will be the AT&T version since it's the most widespread. I hated the ATT ROM and so downloaded the Rogers Canada version of the ROM from this website - which is much cleaner - and flashed my Focus.
Voila. My phone was still unlocked, no horrible ATT stuff making my Focus slow, no tacky orange ATT intro. Also, I was able to update through Zune to 8107, the latest available build (ATT blocks updates after 7720).
If you want a focus and are worried about branded phones, this might be a useful process for you like it was for me.
So according to the other thread the US version would have 850/1700/2100.
Would that work in Europe? (Netherlands/Belgium/Germany) Or just in the US?
Sorry if this has been answered before. Can't find a clear overview anywhere.
EDIT: Found out that European HSDPA is 1900/2100. (1900 being for upstream 2100 for downstream). Does that mean I can still use 3g but only downstream?
The US version has 900/1700/2100 - it can for sure be used in the UK
I don't know what bands the rest of Europe uses
The australia version is advertised as having 1900/2100

Couple of people I know are going to visit NY for 10 days starting next week.
But I just found out there's not a single Microsoft store on the East Coast
Ebay's filled with preorders unfortunately.
Bah.
If anyone has tips on getting a VP to NY so they can pick it up in the next couple of weeks, please let me know
@Peew: GSM 900 is used accross Europe, no exceptions. Phone supports it so it'll work.

Smart man will probably need a US credit card though?
Think I'm going to buy an HTC Trophy anyway, because then I can get it today, won't have to worry about minor hardware mistakes or other warranty related stuff... And I'll have it today
Just played around with it in a store and I fell in love immediately with the OS. Couldn't see the phone anymore, so I figured it's not worth the hassle.
Out of interest, why go for the Trophy over the HD7? I only ask as I've been trying to work out what benefits it would give. I'm assuming here that you're buying the phone outright and so it's not a case of it's the only model you can get from your operator.

Excellent Got a Trophy now, but the VP might make a nice present
WP7 is absolutely stunning though. Really the reviews weren't kidding! Walked by someone with an iPhone 4 yesterday, and was surprised to see the relatively jerky menus compared to the WP7's. That put a nice cherry on top for me
Hi guys,
I live in Europe and would like to get the Motorola Atrix 4g. There's still no official date on the release in Europe as far as I know and just might be released in July 2011 in UK.
Well, I don't really want to wait that long and I might get the phone from US or from Canada, where it should be released next week.
Is there something I should consider or any problems I might expect because of using the phone in Europe?
dubak
There is no problem for Atrix using on any others country. I wish it can switch 3G to 2G only to extend battery life and switch back when need.

I bought mine from the States and I'm in Australia and it works perfectly. I read up on all the frequencies around Europe as well, because I'll be there at the end of the year and most of Europe has the 2100mhz 3G frequency which is supported by the Atrix, so you should be all good.
How did you unlock?
Do you know where can you get the Atrix unlocked online? @ikenley did you get yours in the US or online, and if online, which site? I am planning to get one to replace my old Nexus One...

You can buy "unlocked" from Negri Electronics (that is where mine came from). They are a bit pricier than other offers, but they ship directly internationally. The phone ships locked, but they send you the unlock code by email. As I mentioned in another thread, it may take some time (two weeks for me) to ship out, as they do not seem to have a steady supply.
See more sources at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964641 . Most of them only ship within the US though, but if you have an address in the US that you can ship to, it should work. (As long as that address is linked with your Google Checkout / Amazon / Paypal / other account used for payment.)
There is also an unlock thread, discussing unlock sites for Atrix. It seems possible for US$ 15.
there are many offers on ebay also
And what about the laptop dock?
I'll keep this really short

The Nexus 4 has launched and will bew going on sale for $350 for the Unlocked 16GB version of the phone
What i intend on doing is order the phone off the Play Store for my Dad who is based in US so that he can then ship it to India
He is always busy at work so is there any work around on how i can make that link useable in India to the order it
Proxy maybe ?
Oh and payment for Device can be done without a Paypal ? As my dad should have a Credit card
Thanks for the help
I was thinking of using a Proxy, but is it safe for shopping ??
Oh and can someone please explain to me the means to order it, Credit card/google wallet/ payapal ?
I wouldn't order some anything with a credit card over a proxy, they're insecure.
Sorry, there really is no other way. Until and unless Google opens up the Play store and sells the Nexus in India, you cannot go through the checkout process from India. The billing and shipping address are required to be the same, in which case it needs to be based in the US.
Damn :/
Thing is i only need to do the browsing
AS iwill be using my dads credit card or any other means of payment
All i need to know is payment options
Thanks
Just have your dad set up teamviewer and send you his passcode ( 1 minute of less ).
Then when he is away from the pc for more than 5 minutes you can browse google play website and order using your dad pc through your pc with the help of teamviewer.
Ohk so you want your dad to send it to you.
What you can do is give him this link http://www.google.com/nexus/4/
and tell him to press "SHOP NOW"
hope that solved your problem
ill do the team view thing
Will a VISA Credit/ Debit card work ? Or do i need google wallet ?
Credit card must work.
Your are going to use a USA card.
The card's location of issue must be the same as the addressing location. Not sure how exactly it works or if there are any work arounds.
Use Google.com
The specs are amazing and i just love Android.Unfortunately for reasons unknown Google is not so keen on launching their Nexus phones in India . It was true for the Galaxy Nexus and i don't think that Google has any plans of launching this one in India. My brother who stays in US will be coming home for Christmas and i will ask him to get the 16 GB version which will cost just 18,500 INR (approx)...... that's almost the price i had paid to get my Motorola Defy a year ago .Are there any limitations of using this phone in India...i read somewhere that the phone will have a built in battery ? is that true ? If yes....is it possible to change the battery if i have any issues with the existing one or once the stock battery dies out.
Regardless of area availability, you linked to a discontinued product . They aren't selling the 8GB version anywhere anymore

You are totally wrong. LG has an official statement released that they will be very much launching a NX4 in India. Heck even Google said it is coming to 200 countries. So no way they have missed India.
I too am from India and am desperately waiting for it to show up on the Play Store.
It will only be available from Google in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia.
All other places will have to buy it through local retailers/phone providers, where it will probably be significantly more expensive.

It's also not 10am EST yet. May have something to do with whether or not it shows up in their system.
I'm going with this one because of the great price(64gb) and unlocked bootloader.
I cancelled my preorder with handtec, worth the extra 1 week wait.
I wish I could get this in Canada
Does anyone know about the international warranty status of the Dev Edition?
Anything different from regular warranty?
I'm really on the fence here. I love the idea of owning a limited edition dev phone from HTC, but I don't really need 64GB of storage and the price just seems unreasonable right now since there's the $100 trade in offer and free accessories form AT&T and T-Mobile when you pre-order through them.
I really need someone to clarify this for me. Does Dev phone will get HSPA+/4g and LTE or it will only get 2g and LTE in some area?
