Hi ,I've bought these 2accessories,but I found that both not working and the reason for that, the device not sending current or any electronic voltage to make them work like other devices,so I've make researching and found ,I have to make the kernel send voltage to USB port and with that ,my items will work,so what are u saying for that,is there a way to make any custom kernel do the job?thnx

Do anyone have some schematics for universal or Level 3 service manual?
I'm interested in adding a USBhost possibility for my Universal. I think that there are 1 or 3 unused USBhost connections that are not used there and the cpu is capable of.
If I will get some schematics I'm sure I'll be able to make a simple hardware mod to use even it's original connector.
I think that USB host is not hardware implemented just because they gave more attention to differ a charger from usb charging, so they used the only "free" pin to work with charger identification.
I'm not sure if some software components missing for that, but actually I will not care, I'll try with linux and hope that kernel will give me some info if some usb device connected.
Any help and ideas will be appreciated.
thx

Ok,
If I were to make up an appropriate USB cable.....
1) Could I get my P3600 to talk to a USB control box that controls a light display which is normally driven by a Windows PC?
2) Is there any API facility in the Windows Mobile OS that allows a programmer to send and receive USB data packets or would I have to hit the PocketPC device hardware and bypass the OS?
3) Is any of the above possible?
Thank you very much
using usb it would not be posible
usb comes in 2 types masters and slaves
htc pda's are slaves they cant init comm with usb devices
much like that you cant connect an usb harddisk with an usb webcam
trinity have usb host...
you can see in samsung -
http://www.samsung.com/global/syste...roduct/2007/7/7/324600sc32442x__schamatic.pdf
in page 6 you have usb connection,
in trinity we have usb device, if you want to have usb host you will have to change the wiring inside the trinity.
for this change you will need to replace R75 from 470K to 15K, disconnect R83 and make a short from R76 to gnd with 15K(ohm), disconnect R82 and connect Vbus to 5V
(all the numbers of the resistors are for the Evaluation Board, in the trinity it will be diffrent numbers/connections)!!!!!
this will NOT work with your pc!!!! (need more modifications but can be done)
only host option!!!
you wont able to charge your trinity!!! (need more modifications but can be done)
but you can make switch like in the PDF
and then you will have usb host.
i have done some work on the sc32442 chip and it worked with usb host
(not the trinity).
no because the cpu have something dont mean that it's map'd out in the pcb of the manufacturers
and doing a hardware mod can kill the device and will 100% surely void the warrenty
and when all the hardware changes are then don then he needs to write a usb driver for wm to support the
hardware he want to talk to if non already exist
htc seem to use an external chip to do the usb stuff which is basic
only Athena and flame support it

uhm ... very nice impact!
are you know the jtag pins? must be the same like your embedded board.
This is not good...
What is the first HTC device to support USB Host?
Is it that big fat thing with a detachable keyboard (can't remember the name )?
Thanks for the replies.
PS One last question....
Does anyone make an SD or miniSD port based USB controller card?
Thanks again
Is it that big fat thing with a detachable keyboard (can't remember the name )? == Athena
and yes
This may seem like a really stupid question, but has anyone tried/succeeded in seeing if this device can charge off USB? That is really the only thing I dislike about it now that I have Dexter, I travel a lot and hauling an extra charger is just a pain.
What about charging thru the docking port if we had a usb cable to fit it?
im sure docking port would work, as it does work with folio100 as example.
but usb charge, is probably a no-go, i guess hardware needs to be redesigned to enable usb charging although kernel does allow you to enable it, but again, maybe a pin of the chip needs to attach to another location on board to enable it.
on folio100 it did not work.. and without kernel source to try changing/enabling it we dont know if it would work..
and remember the port is host/device based, so it might also be it only works when in device mode, which also means travellers would not be able to attach anything if they charge it.. so might be conflicting interests on how it should work. (if it worked)
Thanks for the reply.
I know I've seen this question asked elsewhere, but not for a while. You mentioned the docking port, have we seen ANYTHING that connects to it? even if not a full docking station, a cable to connect via USB to a computer.
Or has anyone figured out a pin map that someone could cobble together a cable

Hello,
Did u try to change sub PCB, or connect yr PBA into another good working LCD,
U should have 1 of this problems
1. PBa is faulty and need to replace OTG IC-Charger
2. SUB PBA need to be replaced.
I need to replace my charging port - one of the pins is broken, so I can charge, but I can't do data transfer (i.e. burn a rom....)
I bought a replacement port on ebay, installed it and the microphone didn't work. (USB port did...) I opened all up again, made sure all is installed right, still no go. I installed my old port, and the microphone worked (but not the USB port). So, as many reported the microphone on the board was broken. (The seller agreed to a refund :good
Does anyone know a reliable source for a replacement USB port with working microphone? Or do I need to order one after the other till I get a working one?
