Somedays ago, i use CM12.1 10xx build and experience a battery problem, i though it was only me who had this problem.
But guess what, it's actaully from CM build problem.
And after the days, people says that they fix it which having a 6 hours of SOT and AMAZING things.
ANd right now i am suing 10192015 build which still suffering Battery Drain.
I mean, 44% for 1h and 15min.
I was like WTF?
So, guys, please, help me out, gimme ur review on CM12.1 that have the most stabil battery life.
Otherwise, i should go back to Cloudy ROM again which giving me 5h of SOT. :/
I use this phone for works, so of course battery life is damn important for me. :silly:
The only reason that i switch from Cloudy to CM is rotation got some bug. But that's another story.
anyway, dont forget to answer my question.
A clean flash of cm12.1 may resolve the battery issue.
I'm using Inazuma 2.8c and the battery life seems to be quite good, although I am not a heavy user.
A clean flash does not solve anything because i already did.
Anyway, i appreciate ur reply.
i have the same problem on note 4 with zero lemon10,000 battery. Let me know if you find a answer
Try going into privacy guard and setting location to ignored or always off (I did this to the built in apps as well).
Where is privacy guard?

Should a new thread be made for Darkyy's rom battery drain discussion?
Would it be of any benefit?
Would it help keep the Darkyy rom thread cleaner for actual glitches / problems, and stop posts getting lost in a mine filed of battery trolling?
Darkyy would love to hear what you think mate .
There are plenty of battery drain threads out there but because people are using Darkyy's rom they feel they should post about it in the rom thread, instead of using the already available battery drain threads.
Vote and discuss please.
yes i think it should be investigated seperately from the rom thread , i dont think its the common battery issues people have . i think its a bug it the rom . take my experience with it for example
flashed from darky 8.0 to 9.0
did a wipe beforehand
within less than 12 hours the phone would not boot due to battery flat .
this was from a fully charged battery , with maybe 30 mins use at most .
went back to v 8.0 np at all
Those said said no, can we know why you disagree?
Flashed darkyy 9, I can go 3 days without charging ... tho I will admit i'm not a overly heavy user, and the phone is on wifi the entire time.. at the end of the 3 days i'm around 20% battery, so I find no drain problem here.

I personally don't believe its a problem with the rom at all other wise EVERYONE would have it which they don't. I can get about 3 days out of v9.1.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I get 1day and a few hours from it. 3 days if i dont use the phone at all

Are you using speedmod or voodoo?
Have you wiped the battery stats?
Did you do a wipe when you flashed to 9.1?
V9.1 carries over the battery stats from which ever rom you was using before i believe so there should be absoloutley no difference to your battery.
Theres an infinate amount of anomolies it could be theres no way to pin point the exact problem people have.
I have yeat to calibrate my battery, but indeed there is some kind of battery drain - no sync / no wifi and my battery goes down in around 12 hours. Still dont blame the ROM though, until I invesitigate and find the root cause for certain.
the battery jus drains quick in all darkys rom..the rom is gud but battry is a big issue.galaxy is kool wiv its color display but wats the fun wen u make a rom thts blacky jus to juice battry.but those who want snappy fast rom the darky is best.ive tested almost all diff roms an som r gud.everyone has a own choice.....

LOL yeah im waiting for that too mate.
At the end of the day though it would be better left here to stop flooding the rom thread.
People wont go to 2 different forums for one problem.
They will just keep flooding the rom thread...
Did you vote btw Darkyy? XD
actually with a fresh flash of 2.2 followed by 9.1 i see 3 times better battery
normal 2.2 lasted 3/4 a day
now 9.1+SO4_7_4 tests showing huge battery savings
will need a few days to give a detailed feedback on batt

that's a good idea..
think i'll try it too..
i said no because i get very good battery life with normal use - about 20-30 hours before it goes to 0.
9.1 with speedmod here, 1 day at most, no matter if I use or don't use the phone. Battery drain approx. 12% per hour, no matter if wifi is on or off...
Tried clearing battery stats, flashed wifi fix, removed self-updating widgets, no effect...
No offence but, dont we have enough Battery Drain threads around here? Im pretty sure we dont need rom/kernel specific battery drain threads, main thread will be spammed with it regardless of having this one (most of people around here are lazy to even read first post in the thread).
i was on darkys 9.1 and i found my battery drained quick, where as 8.0 was good
i dont use my phone much, i only use wifi when i need it, i only use gsm no 3g ever. everytime my phone goes back into my pocket i close all my apps thru task manager. bluetooth never gets used. i dont watch movies or play music. the only thing i do is play angry birds (that hammers my battery)
i still feel my battery life is poor and i have done all the methods to save its life like automatic brightness and NoLed ect.
shedding some light on this matter would be great... i think samsung should do something more about this... they can cram all this stuff into a tiny device, but yet they cant make a battery last more than 1-2days.
we can put a man on the moon... but an increased battery life is mind boggling ????
Should a Darkky battery drain thread be made?

Too many variables. Everyone sets their phone up differently. I have been having pretty good battery life on 9.1 but I installed DU meter & I lost 40% in 3hrs. Its all dependant on whats running.
I dont see this as a ROM problem personally.
howdy ya'll
Like most people I've been here a few years lurkin, but now have a problem I can't fix and so signed up for some help
I've installed vrtoxin rom 3.0 (android 6.0 marshmellow) and I am getting appauling battery life
I've done a complete wipe and just installed the ROM itself (no Gapps) for troubleshooting.
I'l get about 5 hours of battery life (not screen time, actuall just sitting there going flat battery life) a quick look into the battery stats and it says the "android system" is keeping it awake
here have some screen shots for references... I've done some searching on the vrtoxin page but no one else seems to be having this problem (or my searching skills are sub par)
any help will be apreciated and thank you in advance for your time, I really really REALLY love this rom, but I want to figure out what wakelock is stopping it from going to sleep.
sorry according to xda, im not allowed to share external photo links as I havent done 10 posts or something....... soooo thats helpfull. I will post them up after I have donme 10 posts I guess.......
hmmmmm interesting,
Ive installed AICP (android 5.1.1) and it seems to be doing the same thing, could this be a hardware issue?
before installation I did a full wipe (data, system , cache)
and its doing the same thing, battery is going down at an alarming rate (about 30% and hour with no on screen time)
these both use different kernels but I might try flash a custom kernel and see what happens
Anyone got any suggestions?
Try an app like this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector&hl=en_GB
CM13 is a nice MM ROM too with good battery life as an alternative ROM
If Android system is the problem and not an app, it's likely the ROM itself, custom ROMs often have worse battery life
Check the CPU is throttling down, and the governor is not set to performance where it keeps the CPU @ max clocks all the time
Hello everyone , hope y'all doin good.
I got a question. I got my 6p a new rom , purenexus... Flashed a new kernel (elementalx). I did it yesterday , but today morning , I woke up , on 100% , unplug my phone , put it on my pocket and 2 hours latter , I had like 96%. This is a massive decrease over stock Android when it came outta the box. Can someone tell me if this is normal or not , or what shall I do to get the impressive 1 month on stand by that I had (phone was on 70% , broke the screen , didn't touch it , repaired it , when I turned it back on , it was on 37% , for a whole month+). What shall I do to get the best outta stand by time ?
Get pure nexus Jan 21st build flash Franco then apply wingoku profile 2.1 with ex kernel manager and you'll be flying with the best battery life

Check your battery capacity with Accubattery. Run it a few times. Your battery may be degraded like many other ppl out there. To rule out the ROM itself, flash stock and compare.

Everything with the battery is ok , just got to get a good standby time , does anyone has any tips ?
Well, how many apps have you installed I the last 24 hours? Maybe all your apps are optimizing possibly?
What do you have running?
Any chance you were playing music?
Did the phone have a y heat to it when you took it out your pocket?
Also... I always felt that the first 1-5% goes really fast.

Ha Ha, what is your measured capacity with Accubattery? Probably thousands of ppl are having degraded battery problems. If you are looking for a limited PN fanboy response, why not just post in the dedicated PN sub-forum? You have a battery drain problem but apparently don't want to run a battery diagnostic to find out where the problem really lies, or flash to stock and find out if your custom ROM is the cause. A "tip" is not going to cure your problem. It requires homework.
Edit: Another issue is that the 6P is inaccurate at reporting 100% charging. Your device may charge for up to an hour longer to actually be full on the stock charger after showing 100%. What you see as fully charged may not be.
I left Pure Nexus because battery life was very poor compared to stock and Cortex. I thought it might stabilize after a couple days but the poor battery life was a constant and I was not the only person having that issue. I was running PN with Flash Kernel and Flash's profile. You will get better battery life with Franco Kernel but with noticable negative effect on the performance of your phone. You could always try Francos Naptime app which puts your phone into deep doze as soon as the screen goes off but I didn't personally care for the app. You might want to consider a different Rom if battery life is very concerning to you. I'm currently on Dirty Unicorns with Flash Kernel and I'm getting better battery life than Pure Nexus but not as good as Cortex. The problem with Cortex is that you have to use Flash Kernel to get good battery life and there is no OMS support. When Substratum stopped working in Legacy Mode (again) I decided to switch to a Rom with OMS support.
Hello, so okay I agree the title is a bit too dramatic but I'm veryyy frustrated, so basically I've owned three android smartphones so far:
Samsung galaxy grand prime ve
OnePlus X
OnePlus 5
(a steady increase in specs)
And I have a question: why can I not get reasonable battery performance on any phone? On my oneplus X when I bought it, for the first few months I used to get 2.5 SOT and then months later I started getting barely an hour (45mins). No matter which roms or kernels I flashed, it made no difference. Battery saver on? No difference Greenify on? A small negligible amount saved...
Infuriated by this I finally came to buy a OnePlus 5 which I thought would put an end to this. However here I am, full of my battery saving habits still in me (which I have done so much research on to make sure they don't make it worse, trust me, I could write a battery saving wiki) and with a draining oneplus 5 in my hands. I've tried different roms and different kernels but still the same bad problem : a DRAINING BATTERY... I can get through a day with 3hrs SOT if battery saving mode is turned on but with a normal stock OOS I could never. I don't understand... I've tried BBS and GSam to try and find the source of this and still nothing. So I have resorted to the unofficial RR which comes with Lighting kernel which I have underclocked and use with battery saving mode on (not android's, ex kernel manager's one). So I have finally turned to xda so someone may be able to help me.
Cheers
Ps: I don't believe I am a target of the NSA and I have a special phone that is customized to track me...
I'd be looking at the apps you haveinstalled... Sounds like there's something running in background eating away at your battery life...
Or it's an energy vampire living in your home....
I am getting radically different battery performance with this phone day to day. One day it'll get a solids like 6.5 hours SoT and others I'll get like 4. Various issues it seems. Shouldnt be that hard to get consistent battery life.
Agree with above. Only common denominator here is you / your apps. But, stock+magisk with franco kernel and the app naptime is enough for me to get 5-7h sot out a full battery, but usually it's half full when I go to bed
You've mentioned that you tried many things to resolve this but I'll go ahead and tell you the things I use to make my battery last a little longer (hopefully there is something useful for you)
- Greenify with Magisk Module
- ForceDoze
- Location almost always on battery saving mode
- Force Doze for Google Play Services Magisk Module
- if WiFi is on, data will be off, and if data is on, then WiFi is off
- Bluetooth is always off if nothing is connected to it
- brightness is kept relatively low/halfway at most, the majority of the time
Running unofficial RR with Lightning Kernel v11 (1000hz version)
All this combined gives me roughly 9-9.5 SOT (about 140 apps installed)
If I forgot to mention anything, I'll edit it in here!
I've been very careful with my apps and I can't see what could be causing, I've tried third party Facebook apps instead of the official one for example and there's nothing strange installed.

Try with basic steps. Factory reset then:
1) Have totally stock OP5 - no "battery saving tricks", no apps. Run a bit. What is SOT? If less then average of 5-6 hours - either you have a "curse"/NSA tracking you or defective hardware.
2) Install your "battery saving trick" one by one testing after now and then. Are there any improvements in SOT? If yes, then write your wiki page, share your findings . If not, write your wiki page and tell us what application is a culprit.
3) Rinse and repeat until no more application left to install or you got bored.
I'm getting incredibly poor battery life after the latest update. I haven't let it fully deplete yet so maybe it just needs recalibrated?

There`s alot of sstuff activated on your 1+5. Try turning it off and check the SoT afterwards. Also some people were complaining because their Android-System was consuming way too much energy.
