I can give everything you need for further research to find a root option for this phone. Thanks in advance to everyone who help.
Hey guys, i found a way to root Galaxy Express I8730. Here is the method:
1. Download the file at the bottom of this post.
2. On your phone, go to Settings -> Developer Options and make sure USB debugging is checked.
3. Extract the file from step 1 You should have couple of files there Find the one that says run.bat and right click and choose Run as administrator
4. You'll see a cmd window. Then a text appears in it and when you see "Press any key to continue..." hit enter.
5. When everything is ready, a message will tell you to press any key again, hit enter and your phone will reboot. Congratulations, you are now rooted.
Nice thank you very much

Hi, just to be clear: we install motochopper to the root directory of the external SD card, then after making sure USB debugging is enabled, extract the file from Recovery?
Or do we do Steps 3-5 from a PC connected to the phone?

You do the exploit from a PC. Make sure USB debugging is ON and that ADB detects your phone before proceeding.
P.S. You don't install motochopper. It's ready to be executed right out of the ZIP file.

hi i am just wondering why I follow all the step and cannot root successful. can anyone help me out please?
THank you .....
IT WORKS PERFECTLY ON GT-I8730 Galaxy Express :laugh:
Anyone some information if the i8730 will be included in the xda forum? Currently there are no other ROMs available concerning this smartphone :/
Heads Up Info for Express 8730!
Hey, source codes is available... Just for a heads up for interested devs!
I had browse the web and found that the source codes for i8730 for various models of i8730. These are all available on Samsung open code release center (OSRC) at opensource(dot)samsung(dot)com. They are as follows:
Classification Model Version Source Code
Mobile Phone GT-I8730 GT-I8730_JB_Opensource.zip
Mobile Phone GT-I8730T AMD2 GT-I8730T_JB_Opensource.zip
Mobile Phone GT-I8730_HK GT-I8730_HK_JB_Opensource.zip
Mobile Phone GT-I8730_LA GT-I8730_LATIN_JB_Opensource.zip
Mobile Phone GT-I8730_SEA GT-I8730_SEA_JB_Opensource.zip
Me am not developer but a user and owner of this model! As a user, there are just much restrictions from stock OS such as carriers limitations, limited features, and all official roms available are according to respective countries carrier and lack of lots of great tweaks and apps. Although root is available, but its limited as few tweaks that I can play with like V6 Supercharger, link2sd etc. That's why I'm always looking forward to customs! They are great! I know that why me nv grab hold of one that can be customized is due to of course simple, cost restriction. This is jus a great, budgeted, with potential (underclocked), fast, 4G device available in market.
Pls just look a little in this device DEVs, and if customized eg, roms, kernels, I believe that other models with the same chipset and GPU can benefit as well! Models like the new Mega 6.3 and also unreleased S4 Mini! They are all using the same Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400!!!
Yeah! Go mid-range devices!!! :victory:

I really don't know what we can do with the ffu yet. I can get the phone into the qualcomm msm mode and install the winusb driver, but a hardware developer will need to create an application to interface to it, or someone leak an app that does that from the OEMs. I would like to see whats in it though, I might be able to search for strings relating to the hidden Tier3 app.

Not yet. Nokia hasn't updated their Access Point app yet to support the 928. It will install, but the internet and mms settings are still fixed on Verizon. I also noticed that there isn't a lib version number underneath it either, but there is one for the app version and database version; it won't be too long before it will change though.

The repository isn't locked out, it is though for Navifirm. It works for Nokia Data Package Manager 2012.18.0 and Nokia Care Suite Phone Support Tools for Store 5.0 - 2013.20.5.3. It just needs this:
usergroupsconfiguration.cfg stored in Nokia Care Suite for Store 5.0
Code:
<configuration>
<user_groups default="CareSuite External">
<user_group
name="CareSuite External"
nol="https://www.caresuite.nokia.com/caresuite/get_params.do?application_id=2"
posti="https://www.caresuite.nokia.com/caresuite/CareSuite"
authentication_needed="0"/>
<user_group
name="Care Pro"
nol="https://www.care.update.nokia.com/caresuite/get_params.do?application_id=2"
posti="https://www.care.update.nokia.com/caresuite/CareSuite"
authentication_needed="1"/>
</user_groups>
</configuration>
I got them from http://www.winphoneviet.com/forum/index.php?threads/38088/
They are links to the files on the Nokia server. The ffu is 4.01 gigs.
I also finally used ffutool from the dev forum on this rom. I'm trying to find a place to upload the VHD file compiled. There are some carrier specific xaps in there.
Awesome, thanks for the help. What exactly is the change you've seen in it?

I meant which registry file contained that setting.
This app is an instruction to Interop unlock your Samsung WP8 phone. Of course, it must have DevUnlock already.
This method doesn't work on GDR3 (8.0.10512.xxx) and later FW! Registry editor was removed from Diagnosis.
Use MBN Creator to unlock recent versions.
Or special W10M version if you have W10M.
Sorry @GoodDayToDie , but I'm author of this unlock method too

Registry page has no code. It can only be accessed with a native toast API. URI:

How do you go about Dev Unlocking your Windows Phone 8? I have just bought a Samsung Ativ S having used Nokia Lumia's for my last two phones - only thing I was really missing since I bought the Ativ was the Nokia apps, but if there's a chance to sideload them that could make the Ativ S really awesome!!!
This doesn't work on the Sprint Ativ S Neo.
There is a "Diagnosis App", but there is not a ##MFG# code. You have to use #DATA# or other code to install it. Then within the Cronus_0711 App, ##MFG# still does not work. Some of the menus do and can be unlocked with the MSL. There is a ##DEBUG# menu that requires a "service code" to access and does not unlock with the PRL.
Your toast pops up, but it does not bring up the Diagnosis app when you click the toast.
Any ideas on how to do this on the Ativ S Neo?

I pulls up a number pad that is titled "Cronus_0711" and ##MFG# does nothing. ##PRL#, ##MSL#, ##DATA# all work with the MSL. ##DEBUG# does work, but asks for a "Service Code" which does not work the the MSL.

maybe http://www.surecall.com/PhoneTestModepdf/Samsung.pdf will help? the service code is normally 6 zeroes or 6 ones.

Browse (on your PC) to http://192.168.0.15:9999/Filesystem?path=\Windows\System32 (replace the IP address with whatever your phone's IP is). Look for a file called "WP8Diag.xap" or anything like that. Download the XAP and post it here. Thanks!
Hey WOLF, nice job editing the native toast launcher app to include a full tutorial. Looks really slick!
Only (minor) caveats: the 10003 value is arbitrary, just something I tried. "Traditionally" we've used 2147483647 (0x7FFFFFFF) but any value of at least 300 should work. Also, at least on my phone, it reports "Failed!" when you try to write (but the write wroks anyhow). You may want to mention that in your instructions (I see you do recommend hitting Read to double-check). Or maybe my phone is just being weird.
By the way, for those who have been asking, here is the WP8Diag.xap file right off System32 in my phone.

You don't need unlock to do this. Read the PROXY thread there.

What PROXY thread? I don't know what you mean, unless that was meant to be a link.
@scrumpypaul: It's a very complex process.
1) Go to the forum page on which this thread is located.
2) Hit Ctrl+F.
3) Type "proxy" without the quotes.
4) Click on the highlighted link.
5) Read the resulting page and follow its instructions.
Seriously people, please make at least a *minimal* effort before posting! That wasn't even a search, properly speaking, it's like the sixth thread on the first page of this very forum!
Okay, sorry - I found it just as you were posting though I do feel I did ask a valid question because it sounded in the response like I was being directed to a link.
this is so exciting and I have an ativ s too I feel lucky that this was the device I chose for windows phone 8

Here's the build.prop file supplied by @thurask. You will need to work off that to get the info.
As far as I know, there's supposed to be 6 Priv variants out there, STV100-(1 through 6). Only the -1 (AT&T, factory), -3 (Canada) and the -4 (EMEA) have been released so far.
The -3, what I have, is the veniceapac. That I know.
I'm guessing codenames will be something like this[1]:
VeniceATT STV100-1
VeniceVZW STV100-2
VeniceAPAC STV100-3
VeniceEMEA STV100-4
VeniceSprint STV100-5
VeniceNA STV100-6
As for GSF ID, I know the -3's GSF ID is 359D84F6FC0A26B4[2], but apparently the Google account used has to have a Priv associated with it or something.

Does anyone have an update yet for how to download the apk directly from the play store?

Hi Guys,
After many days of search and trials I have managed to enable VoLTE in Xperia Z2 & Z3 in Android 6.0.1.
But this Method should work on Newer Z & X series models(till 2018).
Only For Xperia Z & X series
Your carrier must support VoLTE service and it should not be locked to certain devices by your carrier.
This method Only works on stock roms.
Tested and working !
Operator- Idea, Reliance Jio [India]
Thanks to @jitz975 @Dilesh Perera @kevev @tititoto
Try at your own risk.
Always make a backup of system and data before doing this in case anything goes wrong
Follow these steps,
1. Root Access and Recovery are mandatory.
2. Download & flash VoLTE .zip via recovery(only for Xperia Z2 & Z3).
3. Find this line in /system/build.prop [ro.build.type=user] & change it to [ro.build.type=userdebug] then restart phone.
4. Then u have to find the modem switcher.
its in system/priv-app and its called CustomizationSelector.apk
> download Quick shortcut maker from play store
> open Quick shortcut maker to make a shortcut using the app then go to customisation Selector \ modem switcher
> open Customization Selector app and select modem according to your network operator.
> if u dont find your operator just select volte_base_operator_trials_tar.
> try other ims modems if any of these wont work.
> if it wont work even after then try another stock Android rom from xperifirm flashtool.
5.. After selecting modem, phone will restart and you are good to go.

Did u change overlay apps and set app permission to rwrr ??
Did u add line lines in build.prop ?
Try to switch another modem and then again switch to VoLTE modem. It works.

Now agin switch back to VoLTE based trial modem.
If it wont work then your carrier doesnt support VoLTE..
VoLTE is a Carrier dependent service. if ur carrier not supports u wont get anything other than the toggle in settings
VoLTE is one of the coolest services comes with 4G
im waiting with the toggle until my carrier launch the service Lol
I did all, and started launching the customization settings app but it opens and close right after and can enter to the modem settings somehow

It seems not to work for me too. All settings are made exactly like in the description. Modem selected and use volte option is enabled in settings too. Carrier is Telekom_de which supports volte also volte option is enabled in contract.
Best

Your carrier locked VoLTE to certain xperia model.
Cant help with that.
In your case VoLTE access is restricted from network side.
Remaining settings are correct by these method
Thanks for the info. Very disappointed ?

If in your contact VoLTE enabled then do these steps again
1. Select any other modem
2. then again select VoLTE base trial modem.
