It wont bootloop or anything like that? Will i lose twrp?
I'd update via ODIN, then flash CF Auto Root and TWRP again afterwards
Flashing stock firmware will remove root and twrp

Ok,thanks,so no need for backup personal data.
You *should* back it up even if you don't have to.......
If you get the "worst case scenario" and you don't manage to get a successful flash (it can happen), you might need to wipe data before or after a second (or third) attempt to flash.......
Not worth the risk of NOT backing up imo......
Always good practice to make backups.....

Yes, your flash count will increase, and factory resetting is likely to delete all your 'user installed' apps and passwords etc, but shouldn't cause any problems for the device firmware.....

hi all. need help
i've been playing with different roms for couple of years now on different phones and did not have any problems.
till now that is ....
i have installed Omega 21.1, but from time to time phone would lose gsm data connection so i decided to flash something else.
installed [ROM]KOT49H【4.4.2】AOSP official Google Edition and it was good.
for some, God knows what reason, wanted to try Omega19 (4.3). installed fine but sound was broken. when ever phone used any kind of sound it would start flashing or would freeze or something. Flasing any other rom did not help. and for some reason it does not let me change modem with odin.
Last modem i have installed is XXUEMJ5.
tried to do restore using [GUIDE] Unroot/Unbrick, Flash official stock firmware on Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 & I9505 but Odin would fail with Auth error
tried with Odin 3.47, and 3.07
now i still can install rom but stops in logo loop. tried both Omega and google edition.
pls help

Hi,
Once you have installed a TW 4.4.2 ROM , it installs the latest knox bootloader.
At that point , you cannot downgrade your firmware.
You said you installed [ROM]KOT49H【4.4.2】AOSP official Google Edition and it was good.
Your best bet is to re-install that.
As for the modem , there is a technique which you have to try:
Look HERE
That should help.
BTW , I edited your title
thx. will try that and report back.
nope, still stuck @ logo loop
not sure what more combination to test
tried Omega 21.1 with
Bootloader -> BL_I9505XXUFNA5_373648_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_C ERT.tar.md5 and
Modems -> CP_I9505XXUFNA5_373648_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_C ERT.tar.md5
but now it does not get to the logo. shows samsung logo and than screen goes blank.

Hi,
You said you tried the [ROM]KOT49H【4.4.2】AOSP official Google Edition ,and it worked .
So I figured to try and re-install that one.
The other thing you must do between flashing different ROMS is a full wipe (Cache and data)
yes. that was first thing i tested. at best i get the logo loop.
and yes, i do full data wipe before and after reinstallation of the new rom.
cache wipe only whe requested but in this case done that to.
is there a way to see a boot log or something to see where and why booting stops?

The best thing you can do is flash the entire 4.4.2 stock rom via odin. And start from scratch(Recovery/Custom rom) Since you already flashed the newestbootloader (from OMEGA file) .This mean your knox is now triggered and your warranty is now void 0x01.

Hi,
Perhaps you should try to find the latest test stock 4.4.2 firmware ( I9505XXUFNA1) and flash it in odin.
Wipe data and cache before and after flashing.
And then wait for the official update.
At least you should have a phone you can use.
following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
i've found that there is 4.3 stock image I9505XXUEMKF. downloaded it and tried to install but that did not work.
now this is a noob question but is there a speciffic bootloader, modem or something else i need to flash before flashing this image?
or should i search for 4.4.2 version?
thx
flashing stock 4.3 on current bootloader/modem combination gives me Fail from Odin and Sw. Rev. Check Fail error on the phone.

I believe malybru already answer that for you .Thread and Stop experimenting with your Phone because there's a chance that you might bricked your Device or end up with no IMEI.. and Your asking for help/Solution mate so follow their instruction . If you already flash the Bootloader from Omega then you can no longer downgrade to 4.3 stock , that's why your Getting Fail (Auth) in Odin Flash the 4.4.2 stock Leak rom for now then if you consider flashing a Custom Rom then ,flash the philz recovery 6.09.2 or TWRP (Dont forget to Nandroid backup EFS and such and then DO A CLEAN WIPE by Wiping cache, dalvik cache data and system) and From recovery flash any Custom rom you like. (no need to root your phone, Your phone will be rooted after flashing any custom rom . So goodluck

Don`t think you need a unlocked bootloader to use Odin but check it out to be 100% sure, Odin does not trip KNOX if you flash official firmware so it will remain to 0x0. BTW most models like the G900F have a unlocked boorloader allready.

No, a data factory reset doesn`t wipe root if you convert superSU to a system app in the superSU app/settings.

Hey guys,
I've searched many times before creating that thread, but found nothing about my question
A while ago, i've rooted my G900F with build number LRX21T.G900FXX1BOB7 .. Now i want to un-root it to be able to get OTA updates, cuz now whenever i try to update, it tells me that the OS on my device has been modified in an unauthorized way.
So, can anyone provide me with the stock kernel for my build? or maybe tell me how to extract it from a stock rom?
Just flash the same stock ROM from sammobile over the top with ODIN
You won't lose anything, but it will return the phone to Official status and allow OTA

Obviously back up anything important before doing anything like this, but yea, it's how I update OTA after rooting / TWRP
I flash the same ROM over the top, boot into Android, update OTA, then root and TWRP again

hello everyone
3 days ago I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F and the pre-installed OS was Android 5.0 Lollipop
I wanted to downgrade to KitKat 4.4.2 but when I flashed the 4.4.2 firmware at the end of The Flash the phone Rebooted but but there was nothing on the screen and the phone was stuck on a boot loop so I reflashed the lollipop firmware and everything worked
The question is it possible to downgrade to kitkat 4.4.2 knowing that the preinstalled firmware was Android lollipop 5.0 for rooting purposes to keep knox 0x0
thank you very much
The problem with using Odin to downgrade is that it doesn't fully erase what was on there before, it just overwrites it......
Did you try to wipe data in recovery after the flash? Sometimes this is all that is needed.
If you did, and it didn't help, then it may be necessary to flash a pit file at the same time as the firmware.
Before you flash anything with Odin, go to download mode to double check which model you have.....There have been a number of cases recently where devices have been 'rebadged' so that what is displayed on the sticker under the battery does not match what is displayed in download mode (download mode is correct).......

Is there any risk on flashing the pit file
I just want to know before I proceed
Thank you very much for your help
There's a risk to any flash, but as long as your device matches the pit file you flash, you should be ok.....having said that, flashing a pit file carries a potentially greater risk than flashing a firmware/rom as it 're-maps' the data partitions.....In the case of a pit flash, if the flash is interrupted because of a power cut off or a premature device disconnection, the phone will be absolutely irrecoverably bricked......

When I downgraded from LP to KK, the first attempt was unsuccessful, the phone wouldn't boot at all
I did nothing else apart from flash it again exactly the same way, the next boot was fine and I was back on KK
You might need to factory reset after flashing, it's possible some apps are causing problems with the boot if they are not compatible from LP > KK

Nothing, I tripped mine ages back, everything still works
I read it might affect joining enterprise networks/domains, but never tried and don't use them
Try a different KK ROM, I assume you're trying the latest version atm?
It *might* affect OTA.....Some people say it does, others say it doesn't.....
But knox's main function is to prevent insecure devices from connecting to secure 'enterprise' business servers/networks.....basically if your employer expects you to be able to bring your device to work, and connect it as a business tool, you will no longer be able to do so.....*and* if the device was supplied by your employer, you could end up in all sorts of s**t with them too.....
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
Doesn't affect OTA, only custom (Root/Recovery) breaks OTA
Anyone saying tripped KNOX breaks OTA hasn't flashed back to 100% stock before trying to update OTA, unrooting doesn't reverse the custom status
Thank you very much for your help
I gave up I installed TWRP and flashed a custom rom
I couldn't resist any longer
I don't care about KNOX nor the warrenty anymore
Poeple are very kind in this forum
much appreciated for all your effort
Curious, why were you trying to downgrade to KK when Android 6 is available for g900f? I downgraded once myself (without pit file) to KK early on when LP was new, but Android 6 is a nice improvement over both imo. KK4.4.2 still has security issues, namely stagefright. If you're happy with custom rom, so be it, just curious if you were (or not) aware of Android 6 availability for your device, incl debloated, stock based knox-free ROMs.

Sorry, I know it is too late, but search is always your friend You would've had to follow these steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57321061&postcount=1629
I have a AT&T Samsung S4 that I would like to give to my daughter. Unfortunately, the S4 is out of whack. First, I keep receiving the message "The device has detected an application attempting to perform actions that are not permitted. These actions have been blocked. It is recommended that you restart your device." Second, Wi-Fi will not turn on. When I try to activate Wi-Fi from the pull down screen, it blinks green and then goes back to gray. Third, I cannot delete any of Knox apps. There is no option that allows me to delete the Know apps, just the option to force stop. Considering that I don't have cellular service (because the purpose of the S4 is just to use on Wi-Fi and download apps for my daughter), I can't really download apps without Wi-Fi.
Is there any way I can get my S4 to function properly again, such as reinstalling software? I'm not tech savvy, so I apologize. A lot of the threads I've come across only address one of the issues. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
The wi-fi chip could be defective. I also have an i337 sitting in my desk that has no wifi.

You can root the device. But you need to be in stable condition first, like working everything fine and no system message popping up.

It appears that your are on Jellybean 4.3 OS with Kit-kat NC1 modem.
You have several choices.
Like audit13 said you try smartswitch or Kies to perform a factory restore .
If that is not solved your problem you can flash the firmware via odin.
If you are not familiar with using odin this guide explain about the odin.
In that guide you will find the sections about how to get back to MK2 stock and links for the necessary files.
Once you were back on the MK2 stock see whether your wifi is working. If you want to stay on MK2 and root the phone you can use saferoot to root the phone. Here is the link for root.
You could also upgrade your android OS to NC1 Kitkat too. Then you could use Towel root to root the phone.
Thanks for all your help. Unfortunately, I tried the Odin method and during the process i received the Failed message in Odin. I suppose I'm SOL.

If you download roms from sammobile.com, only unzip the file once and flash in ap.
Since it is stopping at the aboot.mbn file, either the rom you are flashing has an outdated bootloader or the rom is not for your phone.

Yes I tried the latest stock firmware today and same problem...received Odin message "failed." Given that I cant seem to get back to stock via Odin, I'll probably trash the phone. Thanks for everyone's patience and help.
Dont' give up yet. You could install safestrap to get close to stock.

Maybe take it to a cell repair shop to see how much it would cost to force flash the firmware via jtag cable.
