Factory reset the phone (in setting menu not in recovery) and not sign in when it set the phone up initially. Then once the home screen shows up, go into settings, then add account through backup & reset. It's a pain, but for some reason when I set the phone up like that, I got the LED light to work again. :highfive:

wanted to avoid factory reset...to old for the hassle
Thanks, will try and say whether it worked for me.
Update
It worked like a charm.
thanks

This worked for me as well, was definitely a hassle to get all my apps installed again but its worth it. Kept missing important messages and emails when I left the phone inside the room.

[Q] Led notifications colors with Cyanogen

Hi XDA
I'm running Cyanogenmod Nightly, at the latest Kang but, since the official nightly of some months ago, the led started to behave differently:
Before it flashed in green for notifications, and in red when the battery was out;
now, even for notifications, it flashes always in red...it gets green only when plugged and the battery is charged, and with notifications when charged and plugged.
I tried various utilities for led configurations, but none of them fixed it..
Am I the only wanting the old led behaviour?

Try Light Flow its in the market, After setting it up and configuring your led's, reboot to see it take effect.
I'm on the latest kang as well n have been using Light Flow ever since nightlies have been pushed out.
Some of the latest official nightlies seemed to mess up the LED stuff. I use Light Flow, which works perfectly for me.
Sent from my Desire Z running CM7.
Thank you for the advices!!
Is this Light flow a program that runs in background or something?
Do i need the paid version?

Yes, it's a program that runs in the background. It also works with your Accesibilty options free vrsion works just fine.
Also, as a suggestion, tsubus, an xda user who is compiling nightlies (ILWT) has created a zip file that can be flashed via recovery that will revert led notifications back to their old behavior. The file can be found in ROM Manager or the ILWT OP here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242480 It should work with any CM7 based ROM.

This patch works like a charm!!! that's just what i wanted...i tendo to avoid programs running in BG
Big thanks to you!!!
Will i have to flash this every time i update my rom?
That patch will have to be applied everytime you wipe data. If you update your rom and just clear the caches, you will not have to reflash the patch.
Hello
I am experiencing the same issue. I tried the patch from the ILWT page but it doesn't seem to be working. I have the CM7.2.0 stable release on HTC Desire Z.

along the same lines I downloaded that program but it only shows 3 colors? I am new to the G2 from blackberry and G1 before that. Are there really only 3 colors in the G2 LED?
Thx.

Notification light

Hi Nexus 10 owners,
Love my Nexus 10 but I have an issue with the notification light under the screen.
It was working fine when I first got it on Friday, with it dimming on and off when an email is received.
But since yesterday, it hasn't light up at all, for any notifications, and I do have the "Pulse Notification Light" checked in setting.
So I was wondering if anyone else have any problems with the notification light? Could it be a bug, or perhaps my light broke after the first day?
Thanks in advance for any response.
I might suggest trying https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coolbeans.ledtester&hl=en to see if your light still works

Just tried the app and there's no light.
However, could it be that this app doesn't work on the Nexus 10 yet?

Yea it might be possible that app doesn't work; may want to see what an actual N10 owner has to report though
Works fine on my N10, only flashes white though, regardless what colour I pick.

So I guess it's really just my N10 then.
Thanks though.
No problem, try reflash with stock images and you might get lucky. My Nexus 10 is buggy as sh** and I put it down to 4.2. It'll all get sorted out soon enough, hopefully yours is just a bug too. Hope you solve it.

UPDATE
Just reset my N10 and now the notification light works again.:victory:
Guess it must have been one of the app interfering with the light.
BTW, when I tested it with a LED tester app, it can actually show green, red, blue and purple lights.:good:

If I understand right, he just flashed a factory 4.2 image from Google, without any OTA updates.
You can get the factory software from the Google developer site and you can download it to your nexus device in case anything gets messed up.
By "put it down to", I mean I blame 4.2 (Android version on the Nexus 10) for all the bugs I'm having. It's a new OS, and this multiuser stuff amongst others means some pretty major changes so I expect it to be a little unstable for a while. Still a better state than honeycomb was when I bought my XOOM on launch day, boy was that a mess.
You're right about the lights, I just got it to work with all the different colours, cyan and then purple look nice

UPDATE #2
The notification light is not working again
Reset my N10 again, then performed a LED light test each time I install a new app.
Until the last app installed, the notification light was working, then after a few minutes it stops working again.
So I guess it's not really caused by 3rd party apps.
So I ask again, has anyone had problem with their N10's notification light?
Still hoping that it's a bug instead of just me having a defective unit.
Thanks again!
I'm having the same issues. Sometimes the LED seems to be working, others it's not. I installed LED tester and again, sometimes it works fine and others not at all. I have tried to spot a pattern to see what causes it to stop and start and have drawn a blank - no idea. I have since installed light flow but this has not helped. Seems to me that there is either a software bug and we haven't yet figured what the trigger is, or there is a dodgy hardware batch (I hope it's the former!)

I think I've found the trigger. If I turn the device completely off, and turn it back on with the charger plugged in, notifications work. If I turn it back on with the charger unplugged, notifications do not work.
Other things I have tried which made no difference included factory reset and factory reflash.
Can some other folks see if their behavior matches mine? I have a replacement device being shipped to me, but if this is a software problem I'd rather not swap hardware. I'm very curious to hear if there are any devices that have a working LED under both boot up scenarios.
I think you are right. LED notifications were working ok when I had a freeze in google now. I restarted (on battery) and tested the notifications - no LED. I plugged in the charger, restarted the system and retested - LED working again. Looks like we have a workaround and a confirmed software bug rather than a hardware fault.
I'll test when I get home, but, I've only ever noticed the light when my tablet is plugged in, so it could be the same for me too. Shouldn't be a major problem, will get fixed in the next update as long as Google are aware.

Just tried this but still nothing.
Called Google today and they are sending me a replacement.
Ok, this is ridiculous.
Just unplugged my N10 and now the notification light is working.
So apparently it's working randomly.
Hopefully my replacement device works 100% of the time.
BTW, are replacement devices new, or refurbished?

Light flow not working properly after .253

Hi the pulse light now works in stamina mode but not properly with programs like light flow led control. The leds flash correctly for a couple of seconds before sonys default led notifications replace them.
Tried different programs and settings, even disabled stamina mode but nothing works.

Yes the same behavior when you run the test and the same thing happens when I tried a different led control pRogram
when the screen is on it works fine as soon as the screen is off it exhibits the same behavior. Stamina mode on or off doesn't make a difference.
worked fine in.434 or whatever the old firmware was.

Right, mine worked until I rooted my phone. How I got this to work was to delete all the lightflow folders on the internal SD, then deleted all data for the app, un-installed the app and re-installed it, now it is all working fine. I am using 3.7.0.
Done all that still not working what Rom are you on. Not rooted and it worked fine in the old Rom.
Try LedBlinker Pro app. I just bought it and it works perfect!

It worked on my FTF ROM posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2280329 non rooted, it didn't work initially when I moved to NUT's rooted ROM, that was until I did the steps I mentioned above.
strange I wonder why it doesn't work here.I'm going to try out the UK o2 Rom tomorrow.
i have the same problem mate, unfortunately it is lightflow related. I found a string on the developer site telling that lightflow can have problem with stamina mode and he suggest to disable stamina mode!
Now i will try this other app (Led Blinker) and check if it will work.
The behavior is clear: stamina mode shuts off the lightflow process.. i think the developer must fix it!
EDIT:
tried both, tried to whitelist both in stamina mode menu, tried to delete folders, app data, cache, everything. But still not working lightflow neither led blinker.
On stock ROM after few seconds Stamina shut off the LED control..

Does you LED even work .
Just out of interest do you have google backup enabled, to back up your phone to your registered email account?
Disable this and see if you still have the same problem, just putting it out there because I do not use this feature and I had read someone posting something about this along to LED issues.
This can be found under settings, Backup & reset
BTW, LEDBlinker seems to work flawless by using user-defined values for the LED off and on times!
right well led blinker works in normal mode now.
has any one got it working with stamina mode on.

No i have the function disabled! (and yes my LED works by default with all the apps)
I updated my XZ to .253 and yes it has this bug. Earlier my LED light used to work fine. I had set different colors for different applications but now after the update the light blinks to default white color for all the applications while the screen is locked. It behaves normally once the screen is unlocked. Earlier I used to know by the color of LED what is the notification for without unlocking the screen but now I have to check evrytime Hope sony fixes this bug in the next update. Anyone of u guys face this problem ??
i don't think this is a bug.. only that sony, to fix the previous issue, changed the method the LED is managed.
The developers of the applications should fix something i think!

The problem is to do with the Sony firmware, this is obviously the case and has been for a while now, because some people have this problem and some do not.
This is likely to be due to the variations of the ROM per location. For example my ROM has issues with WIFI but the europe version does not, and the list goes on for inconsistancies.
Right guys heres a update.
Had some free time so flashed the O2 (uk) .253 version and now the led magically works, even in stamina mode.
Plus the phone is back to its original smoothness.
So for me the .253 central european version wasnt as good as O2 UK's .253 version which I guess makes sense for me as its a UK phone and I live in England..

[Q] Red light - how widespread is this?

Hey everyone -
I originally posted about this in the Extreme Syndicate thread, but wanted to also ask here. I'm not sure if this is an issue wit my phone, the ROM, or the S5 in general. I'm on Extreme Syndicate L v2, and did a clean flash of it yesterday.
This morning, I noticed that placing the phone on it's back on a white surface while the screen is on caused a red light to appear. I think it's the heart rate sensor, but I'm not sure.
Is anyone else experiencing this? And could whatever-sensor-this-is-that-is-apparently-always-going be causing some people's battery drain on Lollipop?
Here's a short video.

This is not very wide spread from what i know, its not related to the ROM, i was stock unrooted android. Its an error in the Update process. Verizon is unable to fix it besides a wipe to the phone, Just factory reset the Phone and the red light will stop. Sorry I cant explain any more.

OK, I think I have it narrowed down to Google Fit. I went into the app's settings and told it to not monitor my activity. After a reset of the phone, the light isn't turning back on. I'm going to monitor it for the next hour or so to confirm that it's really off for good.
EDIT - The light is still staying off, so Google Fit appears to have been the culprit!

This Would make sense since when i would run S-health it would be off for as much as a day before returning. Google fit is a good idea, if that solves it try uninstalling the app and re installing I'm interested in know why a reset of my phone solved this.
Just as a quick heads up to anyone still watching this form, the red light error with google fit has been repaired. You can now use google fit properly and you will not get the heart rate monitor always being active.

[Android N][ZE520KL] Major Issues After Android N Update

Hi Guys,
Kindly note that everything is a big mess in my mobile phone after updating to Android N:
1- Webview is not enabled.
2- Apps are mostly blank white pages.
3- Wifi connection is at it's worst.
4- Cannot disable peek notifications.
5- Asus Share Link is not working.
6- Notification LED are only Lime and Red.
Did any of you faced the same issue after updating?
ZE520KL WW in Brazil, only problems I've seen are notification LED is Red, cannot disable Peek notification and Asus Share Link (although this one is mentioned in the file notes in the download page)
Also, I can report that the audio quality went definitely Lo-Fi. Any music, in any app, when somewhat quiet, sounds like low quality MP3 - independent of volume or Audio Wizard setting.
Not sure for the others but share link is one of the things in the release notes it said was removed.
Webview, isn't that handle by chrome now in nougat.
Nope. No issues for me. I factory reset right after updating, though. You might want to try that next.

Correct, share link has been removed
Asus log notes for android N update
4. Remove "Share Link"
Webview is now handled by chrome in nougat
As for other issues, try to clear cache. Try with one app first and if that does not work go to bootloader to clear cache
As for the other issue s like wifi. I have not experienced any issues like that because i did a clean install meaning i wiped out the phone and once updated restored via backup
After a few tweaks, apps are no longer whited out, but i have a major battery drain problem. And Heads-Up Notifications, they don't go away unless the app is totally silenced. And about the colors i guess the only LED colors supported by the device are Red and Lime!!
No issue for me as well. Everything is stock and still locked.
Asus just released a new update. I can say battery drain problem is solved and memory usage is reduced. Check for updates to receive it.
Yeah, the new update fixed 90% of issues, but the Heads-Off notification remains
I have a problem with sound, The sound hear on top of headset, instead hear the speaker bottom. After reboot it`s ok. Sorry my english, google translate.

Hi Bro,
Here's the answer
1) Android System WebView is now handled by Google Chrome. If you want to enable Android System Webview, you need to disable Chrome.
2) You can post a thread regarding this issue at ZenTalk.
3) Some users reported this on ZenTalk.
4) Some users reported this on Zentalk.
5) ASUS said that it will not work properly on the Nougat Release Notes.
6) For me, notifications such as (WhatsApp, Facebook), it will blink orange LED. For missed call/SMS notification, it blinks green LED. For low battery, it will blink red LED. On Marshmallow build, all notifications will blink green LED.
Now I'm facing heavy battery drain issue. The S.O.T is about 3 hours- 4 hours.

so should we update or hold on?
AudioWizard is a bit buggy.
If I do a call (WhatsApp, messenger, etc), the audio goes lo-fi, even after the call.
Disabling AudioWizard restores the correct behavior of making the audio high fidelity again after a call

Yeah, with Doze 2.0 ,the battery life should be very good but ASUS destroyed their Nougat Firmware which makes it super buggy.
