Sadly there has been no official lollipop/marshmallow update for 820s model. Some devices got lollipop from start but others haven't received yet.

The battery life for me slightly improved, keyword slightly. My guess, check the battery usage and see where the battery is being drained.

Isn't it supposed to add something massive like an extra half-1 hour of on screen time?
Hummm...so, I bet there's something wrong.
I did a clean install by fastboot.....
I Don't think there are special draining app ....anyway.... have a look :

A pity that wakelock detector doesn't work for the moment.
Yesterday, 1st full day using stock rooted lollipop, i had 22hours before battery fully drained, with 2:50h screen on time,
wifi & 3g activated, auto sync too, 2 reboots and apps installations.
You'll have an idea at the end of the day.
Also, if it drains, maybe because of "gadget" apps.
i know that stock email app in previous android versions is a battery-eater app.
Also, maybe check in your account settings the syncs activated and uncheck some.
Strange....with kitkat I had the same settings...and I could use my nexus for more than a day
This lollipop is a major drainer! I'm disappointed... I'm sticking with KitKat for now till I get the Nexus 6

It socks hard
I had 4 to 5 hours of heavy use in KK. Now (clean L installation) I can't get more than 2 hours.
You guys seem to be getting the wifi "miscellaneous" drain. The stock images were supposed to fix that (hence the delay). I would try a complete reset.
Once more I've flashed lolipop.....
Fastboot method, rooting with NRT....
After 7 hours of non intensive use, 51% battery remains ....what's this S..t ?
any help please.....
I've done a complete reset and installed a factory image and I'm having severe drain...
Same here :'( . Device is active most of the time, and looses 1% per minute when screen is on and gets extreme hot.
Super heavy battery drain!
Lollipop for nexus 4 seems to have so many issues.
Random openning of recent apps, auto brightness, extreme hot while using camera, battery drain on wifi.
lollipop really actually sucks.

is it the difference due to side load and OTA?

So ?
Just got a software update notification on my G5. I don't see any version number or details, anyone else get the notification?
I just got it, did the update, and was wondering the same. I was hoping to get a surprise android 7 update. I guess it would be too much to ask for LG or any manufacturer to release an update with an android version released 6 months ago.
The one good thing I can say about apple. When they release an update it gets pushed out. They dont let the manufacture and then the carrier finger f#%^ it for a year before making it available.
AT&T update also
I also just got the update, in fact it's still installing ... Phone nows says Android Version 6.0.1, Kernel 3.18.20, Build MMB29M Software version H82011n ... no idea yet what is different
I just got the notification. I'm not installing it as long as the phone doesn't forcefeed it, that last H82011K buggered my phone pretty bad and it gives me flashbacks of bootloops and factory resets now when an update pops up.

It will force it, I had a notification that I couldn't get rid of. And since the hopes of getting root are very low I decided to just go with it.

AT&T has finally started rolling out the long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update to its variant of the LG G5.
---------- Post added at 03:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 AM ----------
Currently downloading the update now.
Yep just got the update on my phone.
It has been a week and have gotten the notification twice and been unable to download it on the Wi-Fi network I was on. Now I don't get it at home and even when I set the clock ahead it says android is up to date. What gives?
It's only too bad Nougat is so greedy for battery. Look at that - 37 minutes screen on and I'm down to 48% left. Awful.
Not worth the upgrade IMO.

1.) Return to the USA, power down your phone and insert your active AT&T Sim card.
2.) Power your phone on and then go to settings>general>about phone>software update.
3.) Press "update now" and wait for update to finish.
Since you aren't yet on the H82011N firmware, you will have to repeat step 2-3 until you are on H82011N, before you can finally update to Nougat, which is H82020J.
:good:

I've been looking for a way to capture the actual file myself. Apparently it's impossible for the AT&T G5 because the bootloader is locked and no root is possible, which would be necessary to intercept and copy the actual OTA file.
These problems directly stem from the fact that AT&T will never release a KDZ or TOT for us because they're evil, and ultimately don't want their clients to gain root and potentially extend the life of their phone hardware via 3rd party Roms like CyanogenMod.
Since I am not a developer I am curious whether you can make anything that would for us with the nougat source code for the h820?

I have the note 4 from verizon, rooted with xpossed and running JASMINE ROM 7.0 and every time I'm using my phone at ~35% it thinks it's dead n shuts it's self down without the shutdown process it just goes to a black screen. Then it attempts to reboot but gets stuck in a bootloop until I plug it in then it reads 34 or 35%. I have colaborated the battery with root essentials app from Google play store. On the other hand when I'm not using it it dies around 20% it does the same thing. Is this a hardware or software issue?

I am facing the same problem the link which was given to you won't solve the issue so i think it's a software related or it's a "bug".. mine shuts down at 15 to 10% and goes into a bootloop..
So my recommendation is do not attempt to do anything. buying a new battery or factory reseting your phone will not solve this problem i tried every method in xda
Just use it as it's hoping that next update solves this problem "fingercrossd"

I was trying out this ROM [ROM][6.0.1]Nseven [N910VVZW2CPL1][1/10/2017]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/note-4-grace-7-t3434155/page233 and in the post there's a kernel that I flashed to be able to install the ROM and after using the ROM I decided to restore my phone from a backup on TWRP and didn't re flash my boot img and my battery seems to last longer. I did have to re install supersu binary from TWRP to get it working but my phone battery seems to be working much better then before. Same bugs on clean install.
I have clean installed (full wipe in TWRP, clean install from flashtool and then a factory reset) at least 5 times and have the same mobile data issues. I turn on the phone and have no mobile data but I can fix it by going into airplane mode. I'm going back to 7.0 when I get home tonight.
So again, if you need a temporary solution to no mobile data, just flick airplane mode on and off.
Other than that I guess we're waiting for the next update ****ing sony. At least 7.0 seemed to work perfectly fine.
First time, I did OTA update, facing bugs and did clean install with flashtool(ticked everything in wipe section), and saw the same bugs.
For me, data network is fine. Although album app won't show anything, it can be easily fixed.
The most annoying thing is higher memory usage of system.
1.2gb of 2gb is used by system, leading to frequent app refreshing.
A couple of hours after fresh bootup, it gets high from 700mb to 1.2gb
Wow. How did that update pass through quality check?

Run Albums app and go to Settings > Find and fix problems
It is recommended to clear data of Media Storage, but in my case, I didn't have to do that.
If I want to install something, does not come much
don't do the OTA, I explained sort of in the guide I have, it's not clean for firmware
edit: by firmware I mean (bluetooth/wlan/nfc firmware updates)
You guys have had better luck than me, my phone is basically unusable. Battery went from 100% to 60% in an hour while it was in my pocket doing nothing but getting hot. Oh boy does it get hot doing nothing. I can't open any apps without waiting nearly a minute and that's for the apps that actually load. The phone app doesn't load instead chrome opens. Even the app drawer takes about 25 seconds to open if at all and when i press the home button i watch the icons appear one by one the a few seconds later the widgets appear. I'm in the process of DL 7.0 ftf as that worked fine. Going to fire up flashtool and reinstall this evening. I can't believe that Sony could actually roll out something this bad. What a sh*t show.

The Broadcom Bluetooth source I'm literally combing through and looking at right now, or the guide?
https://android.googlesource.com/pl...2525815fa4983d8ed5bae94/bcmdhd/dhdutil/dhdu.c
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-compact/general/recovery-nougat-7-0-android-bootable-t3609358
The guide. I don't see which section deals with this. I've already unlocked my phone and rooted with PoC.
Yes, I've been doing OTA since I got Z5C some months ago. Until 7.0.1 (or previous update) it was getting improved for me.
This latest update 7.1.1 messed up battery performance and it gets heated without any usage.
This is my today's usage. I made 4-5 calls of about 2 minutes. 15 mins data for browsing.
Also, memory usage is too high, if I return to home from Twitter or Chrome, the home screen and widgets load one by one slowly. CPU temp is >60c mostly.
Really disappointed that now I have to flash and restore. Which I've doubt will work smoothly.
What's you guys suggest? Wait for another update or use Sony's built in backup and restore option to flash previous firmware and restore from backup?
As shown in screenshot, the constant bettery use is without using any app, the phone was in my pocket all day.
