[Q] OP2 Chinese Version same as US for ROMS? - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys.
In terms of changing ROMs here on XDA, I was wondering if the Chinese version is the same as the US one and I can flash all roms from here.
Or I am way off on this.
Thanks!

You can quite easily.
Here's a link to HydrogenOS
Both devices are the same, the differences (I believe the ONLY difference) is frequency bands support between the 3 different models. Europe has different to China has different to USA. You can just install whichever ROM you want to, personally I've used OxygenOS, HydrogenOS, Exodus, stock (unofficial) CM and other iterations of CM.
Go nuts! But don't do anything stupid.

[Q] Why few ROMs ?

Hello guys!
Just a quick question, why can we saw a few number of ROM?
I mean, de don't see a lot of CM Based ROM or AOSPA Legacy ROM. Have you got an idea ? Maybe it's an hardware issue?
Thanks a lot!

Cyanogenmod is working on a rom for the G900F and maybe other Qualcomm based variants, only the camera and nfc needs some work afaik. If those issues are resoved we will have CM/AOSP roms soon. The Exynos variant will probably not be supported though. Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755697 for more info.

There are actually a large number of custom ROMs available for a new device that has only been available for a few months. Why you would expect more is a mystery. There is official CM and ASOP ROMs, as well as myriad non ASOP ROMs. And no doubt the number of ROMs will increase over time.
It's not clear if you just haven't searched to see what is available or if you perhaps have unrealistic expectations.
.
Why I expect more? It's just that when I have a new phone - for personnal or profesionnal use - I like to see every ROMs which are created or ported. Even if I install only one or two of them, I like to see every works.
After my XPERIA Z1 and my Galaxy S4, I saw an incredible number of ROMs. Slim, Carbon, Cyanogen, Paranoid, and other...
It was just a question to know "why" there is only few ROM, nothing more.
Personaly, I would like to keep my Stock I guess, but I like to test CM, AOSPA and sometimes Slim.
:highfive:
Thanks for your answer.

differences between MIUI roms?

Hello All,
I have the redmi pro Helio X25 deca-core processor with the build-in rom - MIUI global 8.0 stable (8.0.4.0 lxkcnma).
I want to update the rom but I saw few MIUI roms but I don't know where to find the differences between them all.
I saw on this thread few roms:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-pro/how-to/list-roms-redmi-pro-t3555871
1. OFFICIAL ROMS
Chinese Stable 8.1.2.0 latest
2. XIAOMI.EU ROMS
3. Multirom.me Roms
4. Mi-Globe
5. MIUI.su Roms
can someone tell me the differences between them?
which one is the fastest?
which one has longest battery life?
which one doesn't cause crash in whatsapp when you send multiple pictures?
which one use the least resources from the system and got un-necessary apps?
Thanks
Shlomi
Official chinese rom has only english and chinese languages, eu rom is multi language.
Global rom is unofficial instead eu rom, and might have problems in the future.
I suggest to switch to eu rom.

MIUI.su Roms
Im only tryin miui-hellas and eu_multi. I have read from others that this is the best roms, but you should get them one by one to see for your self what is best for you!!

Are there any AOSP ROMs available for the Korean model?

The question says it all. I'm kinda bored with stock now, and for me there aren't any ported ROMs that is worth using. Searched around but couldn't find a single AOSP ROM that is available for the Korean model (which sucks). So, if anyone here has come across an AOSP ROM compatible with the Korean model, please let me know. Thanks.

Eu 10 or MiuiMix?

Hi guys,
I'm on global 11.01.0 PFJMIXM rooted stock rom since I bought the phone (around 5 months) but I would like to try some android 10 official MIUI rom.
I doubt between Eu and MiuiMix rom...I saw positive comments for both of them...
What do you say guys? Which one is better regarding stability, functions, battery life...?
And I've never used TWRP...so, which version is suitable for flashing this roms? Official? Some other?
And what steps I need to take? What I should format? What I should wipe?
I'm asking because I saw a few different tutorials for it...
Thank you for your time

They are almost the same ROM.
The difference is MIUIMIX uses the chinese ROMs vendor (for better deep sleep)

Galaxy S8 Active rom install from the beginning

Can anyone guide me through installing a solid rom from the beginning? The last pie update was great but doesn't seem up to par any more and I'd like to enjoy my phone to its fullest.
I've searched and links no longer work and I've read through hundreds of posts without finding new ones.
My impression is CYANOGENMOD ROMS would work for me.
I also use google apps which hopefully can still be installed and used.

Thank you for any help you can offer!!

Assuming that your s8 active is snapdragon? If so. you're unlucky. There are no custom roms for snapdragon variant. However if you have an exynos version there are many custom roms for it. Cyanogenmod roms were renamed to lineage os. So I think the roms you are looking for is lineage os

I have snapdragon. Thank you for letting me know so I don't have to keep searching.
Any thoughts about using the s8 active now? It seems safe enough but I don't really know :/

Well s8 is quite a phone in 2022, if you're bored of it, you can try rooting it and customizing it
So it is possible to root it and then flash a customized rom?
Will a customized rom be faster or more secure than 9.0?

You can root it, however a room cannot be flashed, it has to be built for a specific device. Customized ROM offer more security than normal roms they can also offer an increase in Performance, since they keep up with android patches.
Thank you again for your insight and help with this
I was looking at a thread that seems to offer a custom rom for the s8 active.
