Normally on nexus devices you press volume down and the power to take a screenshot if that is what you mean?

is there anyother method to do this because i was using samsung note-II and that was too easy while you are working.
you can install an app but this is normal android behavior. it's possible samsung has their own method due to their UI changes.
That was part of samsung note features.
The device is specifically designed for that so you can screen write.
I am going to miss it too

Why is no one calling him out for not actually having this phone, since it has not been released yet?
Also when android doesn't have a physical home button, it's hold the power button and the down volume button.

his UID is miditechindia.. i'm assuming he's Indian. based on the number of YT videos currently out, those posters have been saying that the 6P was released to India first.

So many people/blogs all keep saying its just a copy of Siri or that voice command is useless. But what's new is that this is active all the time. E.g. You can answer a call, snooze alarm etc with just voice and no need to start an app.
AFAIK this is a first. So many things can be done and it will only get better.
Is it really completely handsfree???
Thats what I also thought when samsung described the S-voice.
But then after watching all the videos, I reckon its not completely handsfree.
For example for the lock screen, you need to first press the power button or home button to get the screen on, and then say the command to unlock it.
Correct me if I am wrong.

i was wondering this and they made it sound like its completely hands free but that would be too good to be true probably unless it affects battery...

fair enough. but this is funny because reminds me a bit of apple - and how they said siri will only be on the 4S because the artificial intelligence algorithm requires at least a dual-core processor and what not. next thing you know it gets hacked and runs flawlessly on an iphone 2g
i would say, it's good, that the device has a lock-screen mode too, because when i have it in my pocket, i'm not interrested in starting programs or calls
but the S Voice will be for sure an awesome feature - i hope it will work for all languages fine
and about using it on different devices - i would imagine, that it could end in a developer <-> producer ping-pong same like siri?!

This would also explain why it Says something about network and not doing anything on the wifes Nexus, as I was sure it was working before
Has anyone tried to change their build prop to mirror GSIII ? and see if it works then, I would but the wife would have fit if I messed with her's
it is a shame it doesn't work anymore on my One X, but I don't blame Samsung for disabling it. I'm about to throw down $700 on this phone so I want it to keep its exclusives as much as possible haha.
Other than that, I would feel bad for all those people that worked together to integrated it only for it to get pirated.
not sure if this has been discussed yet (could not find much in net either) but some say that the ok google voice commands is not available on the htc one m8. i got mine yesterday through telstra (australia) and have everything stock. today by pure accident i discovered that if you hold the home button down an option to swipe up to google appears. also when in lock screen there is a arrow below the lock symbol that does the same thing. it doesnt seem to be always active like other phones but at least it is there and it works.
ps. absolutely love this phone. upgraded from htc one xl (australian 4g one x) and have to say what a massively huge improvement.
You need to say "ok google" from within Google Search/Now then it works, but that also depends on your local language.
The chipset is very capable of running in a low power mode and waking to voice commands "alright m8" would be awesome, but HTC have chosen not to add it or not add it yet.
There doesn't seem to be stock way of customising the swipe up to get to Google now as there was with the One but HTC are very open to feature suggestions!

So I take it the search widget doesn't work like the Nexus 5 homescreen? The S5 does...
Maybe, I did see someone demonstrate it very quickly but its not a widget I use and did feel inconsistant!
It won't wake up the device as we see on the Moto X at least.
Theres an app called open mic in the app store that lets you wake up pretty much any phone on jb+ via voice command to google search ill text people by talking to my pocket if i put the sensitivity to max but it wakes up to alot no matter what your wakeup phrase is "you can change it.".
You'll be able to activate it from your homescreen if you were to install the GEL launcher. If, however, you wish to keep Sense then you'll either need to do without it or use one of the apps like Open Mic (mentioned above) to do so

Widgets are still avaliable.
What is different is with the M7 with physical buttons, you could swipe up from the home button, or long press depending on your settings.
With the M8 with virtual buttons you just swipe up from the home button just like you do on the nexus devices.
Basically the buttons and google now behave like they do on a nexus.
It's works great haha, I was wondering what can google now do, now it's useful:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
I found this by accident too. I was happy about it.
You can also install the google now launcher if you want it to always be active. The search widget doesn't listen unless yo tap the mike icon.
So how can the S5 have hotword detection active on the touchwiz launcher ? Can that functionality be brought to Sense?

It's up to the OEM to include that. Samsung decided to make that part of the SOC active for listening while HTC did not, probably out of battery concerns.

It seems that Samsung got rid of the Action Memo since the Note 4. Yes, we do have the Screen Off Memo, but it's not the same as Action Memo, which allowed you to minimize the memo and basically pin it to your screen in order to add on to it, or recall it later.
What's the best replacement without completely replacing the built-in note program? In other words, a program.

I tried his file and it worked, but then updated via the app store and then it stopped working. If you look at the reviews on the S Note app page though, you'll already see some Note7 users complaining about the lack of Action/Quick Memo. Maybe Samsung will make it work. Maybe it's currently not working because the app just needs updating? Who knows.

The best way is to get samsung to see the error in the change, and do something about it. Head over to the playstore and destroy them in a review of the POS Samsung Notes. The ratings are low and falling, but we need to have the ratings really crash. Maybe then they will listen and fix this thing.

That's a bit shallow considering what site we are on here. No proposed allusion towards possible Rooting of said device? Isn't that the route many of us are hoping to achieve? Then we can totally eliminate Bixby all together.

Not that I know. I know that good Lock adds functionality to edge lighting but not that function in particular. Maybe someone else could chime in. On a brighter note I saw in a Samsung forum that Samsung was working on giving the lights around the camera some of those led functions. It didn't come from Samsung officially so who knows. That being said RIP phisical LED!

Well that's normal behavior. The only progress bar you'll see is in the app store itself and if you happen to be using one of the apps being updated it might force close. I'm not sure sure what the question is. Maybe a bit more details in regards to what you're trying to accomplish might help. ?

Hi All
Im experiencing a drop in data connectivity once in a while, be it with browser, fb, ig, youtube etc. BUT my 4G icon is still available and present at the navigation bar with full service reception.
I called my provider if there is any issues on their end but they said all is fine up and running.
Anybody having this issues or isit my baseband faulty or some kind? Snapdragon hardware btw. I have hard reset it by using the buttons but still no use.
Im an avid android geek having 3 4 phone changed in a year but this is by far the most frustrated device yet
Please help do i need to turn off some settings or what not?
Hopefully its just a software glitch or something it would be a hassle to send in for investigation.
Did you try a "Reset network settings"? That would probably be my first step in troubleshooting.
