hi guys first post here although i read alot trying to fix my n9005 problems myself.so lets start:
1_ wifi switch greyed out no option to turn it on, with 4.4.2 and lollipop although it works with cyanogenmod 11 and 12 but with a weak signal, i need to be really close for it to see my router, around 7 meters. so greyed out wifi with official samsung roms and x-note build 21 rom and a working but weak wifi with cyanogen.
2_ no 3g no h no h+ signals only edge signal or rarely g with all the roms mentioned (95% of the time E and 5% G)
3_S pen use to work perfectly but after me fiddeling with roms trying to solve connection problems i messed that up too, now my phone only shows that the spen is detatched or attached and shows the air command pop up menu but it doesnt show the pointer when i hover the spen over the screen, it recognize my finger just fine even my nails so sensitivity is fine but not the spen i cant write or select or do anything with it anymore.
now to help you guys help me let me tell you that i bought it second hand for a good price hoping that i could fix it, i bought it in tunisia with uae xsi lollipop rom installed on it, the guy who sold me the phone told me he faced 3g problems since he bought it himself from another dude but wifi use to work on kitkat but when he upgraded to lollipop no more option to to turn on wifi. i hope its a software issue not hardware. i hope it was someone who messed up some csc or efs or some other ligne on a code sonewhere and not a hardware problem that wont be fixed unless i buy a new motherboard cause its gonna be more expensive than the phone itself.
so plz ppl help me out, and whatever info u might need im ready to provide to fix my phone.
Don't think anyone can say anything for sure unless one carefully checks your phone, both hardware and software wise. If its software, then you can fix it, so lets try that first.
Install a custom recovery, TWRP for example, completely wipe your phone, TWRP's advanced wipe option and select everything (it will erase everything, so please be informed beforehand about what's going to happen). Then download a stock Lollipop ROM from sammobile.com, flash it with Odin. I recommend either OF3 or OI2 (the Nordic country ones). You will then have a ROM, freshly installed. Now check whether those problems still persist or not, if they not, good, if they do, service centre might be your option.
i allready have twrp ill erase everything and install oi2 rom like u said but i recall wiping everrthing with twrp once and odin didnt seem to recognize my phone, did i do something wrong, can u point me to the best odin version and what options to check or uncheck. and btw thanks.
thing hapened again; no wifi (greyed switch) and only E edge signal and also spen is not working.
here is odin log if it helps

Then its something up with the hardware mate. If you totally did a clean installation then WiFi should work, 3G should connect.
I don't think there will be any difference with different Odin versions, but in any case you can download it from sammobile, 3.10.7 is the latest one as far as I can remember.
One more thing you can do, just install a TouchWiz based custom ROM, try Alexandar's topic if you want as close as a stock ROM, or try Arya if you want a full featured ROM, but this is just trying your luck mate, if the stock OI2 ROM didn't solve your issues then I don't think a custom ROM will, but downloading a 1 GB file doesn't hurt anyway.
Hi, thanks for your reply and sorry I didn't get back to u sonner I was busy but can u give me a link to arya ROM. Also if its only a hardware issue then why my WiFi is working (although with weak signal) with CyanogenMod? Hope u guys can help me with my issues.
Still waiting for some help, thx.

You need a service centre .
IMEI appears to be a fake .12345678 etc is not a genuine IMEI .

Your post reads as you have bought a damaged refurbished phone that's is not fixable by software .

hello! can someone please help me with my galaxy s4 GT-i9505. I really need your help on this!
this is what happened,
a few days ago, I Got my phone unlocked from its carrier GLOBE here in Philippines.
the tech flashed it with older firmware before unlocking my phone. all went well after that.. but my phone was running an older firmware since the tech flashed it with older firmware before unlocking it.
the next day, I decided to flash it and upgrade with the firmware I9505XXUDMH8 from this website http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/504394/20130907/galaxys4-gti9505-official-android422-xxudmh8-jellybean-update.htm
all went well after that. but I encountered problems on rooting and flashing with custom kernel. I've learned that the firmware I flashed from this http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/504394/20130907/galaxys4-gti9505-official-android422-xxudmh8-jellybean-update.htm website includes Samsung KNOX which they say can cause rooting problems and etc.
knowing all that stuff, I decided again to revert to an earlier version of android 4.2.2 for gt-i9505 which is the I9505XXUBMG5 which I got from sammobile.com. hoping to stay clear of the KNOX rooting issues.
when I tried to flash the I9505XXUBMG5 firmware with odin 3.07, it said FAILED and now I can't basically use my phone. I'm stuck on "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
I tried flashing back the I9505XXUDMH8 which I got from here http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/504394/20130907/galaxys4-gti9505-official-android422-xxudmh8-jellybean-update.htm but it still fails!! why???
I've read somewhere that the latest firmware I9505XXUDMH8 that contains KNOX can cause issues when you would try to downgrade to an earlier firmware.
I've just read that thing after I flashed to an earler version. hohohoh. has anyone been in this situation?
please help! I hope someone could help me on this. all insights will be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance!
Go to recovery and factory reset, should fix it.
If not Just flash MH8 again in Odin and then factory reset.

1, Make sure u have no Kies programme running in the background kill all that and try flashing the firmware using odin
2 , if that does not wrk try flashing with "pit" file along and see the result make sure to use the correct pit file or use the link Here
Also try some different latest stock firmware u have it available
One suggestion don't panic all will be fine I have been to this situation more then 6 times using different galaxy devices all were recovered
U can also use the help thread link on my sign
Edit : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419762 one more helpful link here
I had the same issue while flashing mh1 modem. I changed to different usb port and flashed my old modem back with newer odin.

UPDATE! problem SOLVED
thank you for all your responses. I've figured out the problem and found the culprit.
It was the USB ports of the PC I was using to flash the phone.
FIX: I tried flashing the phone from my gf's laptop with the MH8 firmware and wallah!! odin did not show any fail and I was able to use my phone back..
after everything went fine, I tried flashing back the UBMG5 firmware just for the heck of it. then ODIN showed failed. so I flashed back again to MH8 firmware and everything went OK again..
FOLLOW up Questions:
1. can't we really go back to an older firmware version?
2. I wonder what was causing my phone to constantly disconnect from the USB port. but in my gf's laptop seems to be ok and working
(I have tried it from two PC's.. it disconnects on my pc at home and my work pc)

You are stuck with MH8 firmware, worse you have KNOX and can't use all those neat little apps that require system access to run.... Even if rooted...
The new bootloader that Samsung released is REALLY going to kill Samsung support in this community. Bit stupid really as most of the latest features on their new phones started out as an idea on this site by people who wanted more out of their phones and worked out how to do it....

damn. we'll i'm still hoping some developer would find a work around about this knox issue.
Same thing happened to me with MH6 (Singapore)
So here's the thing - I have a mild vision impairment and having bold fonts throughout the entire OS helps a lot. I've always used "MyFont" to change the UI font to Akzidenz Grotesk Bold (gorgeous font, really)
So anyway the MH6 update broke MyFont - something KNOX related I suppose - it couldn't apply the font changes anymore, even though it worked perfectly fine on stock unrooted MG5 firmware
So I dug up my old XXMEA firmware, Odined my phone... then I had the worst "bricking" experience I ever had
a. Couldn't make calls (black screen)
b. No sound output from speakers whatsoever (no boot sound, no touch tones, the phone doesn't "beep" when adjusting the volume, etc)
c. Erratic connectivity to H+
d. WiFi unable to turn on
e. Very unresponsive UI
So I updated to MH6 through Kies (on another PC), wiped data, and then it refused to get past the "Samsung Galaxy S4" screen - it just hung there. I flashed broodplank's vanilla 4.3 over it, and managed to at least boot up (albeit with the same issues). THEN I noticed that the baseband was still MEA - which meant that Kies kinda failed as it upgraded ONLY the main firmware but not the modem - perhaps that's why it wouldn't boot up?
After many hours of trial and error - I managed to get my phone back in working order.
1. Flashed XXUDMH6 modem
2. Downloaded XXUDMH6 (MM1, my telco) from samsung-updates.com, Odined it
3. Success
But it's kinda disheartening that Samsung "locked down" the phone with these latest updates.. what a shame. Definitely getting a Nexus when my contract is up.. even though here in Singapore they're overpriced
Hope this helps anybody stuck in the same scenario - the gist of it is.. if you want your phone to work properly, you can't downgrade your firmware. Kinda like Apple.

Thank you adrian - I had exactly the same problems after I tried to re-install an older stock rom after the Knox install.
I had no wifi, the phone dialler would show a black screen and would crash the phone, plus i no longer had any system sounds.
This was down to an incorrect baseband and firmware combination that needed to be reflashed via Odin in the order that you mention in your post.
I have a German Telekom.de SGS4 and now have the following config:
Baseband I9505XXUDMH9
Kernel 3.4.0- 1220396 [email protected] #1
Build number JDQ39.I9505XXUDMH9
SELinux status: Enforcing
Thank you!

Means u cant downgrade no more bro. Once you have updated to a newer firmware, it also means that ur bootloader has also been changed.
So when u try to downgrade, u are only downgrading the firmware. But the bootloader still stays the same which only works for the latest firmware u've flashed. This might explain why some things i ur fone doesnt work after the downgrade.
Hope this answered ur question

Hey guys
Could really appreciated some advice please?
Tried to install the Vodafone UK lollipop image I downloaded from sammobile on sat night and tried flashing it. I have the unbranded UK Note3 32gb Lte. I got Odin fail and on the screen of the phone there was a constantly repeated line of red text that said 'invalid percent of drawing download progress bar'
This is what Odin said

<ID:0/006> cache.img.ext4
<ID:0/006> hidden.img.ext4

Can anyone advise on what happened please? Do you think my vodafone uk lollipop image is broken? Would I be safe to try the Polish rom? Or is there something wrong with the phone?
I do not have root or a custom recovery on my device.
Im back on 4.4.2 and the phone is running fine - but OTA updates arnt out for the unbranded 4.4.2 uk handset.
Thank you in advance for your help
Try the Poland ONE coz your device is unbranded.
Do you think that is the reason it didnt work? Purely due to branding? Thank you for your help
Yep tried installing poland file as recommended above all back to normal now thank you Running the lovely lollipop
Hello experts,
I have the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F with the following details:

Baseband: unknown

Build number: LRX21T.G900FXXU1BOB7
SE for Android status: Enforcing SEPF_SM-G900F_5.0_0007
My problem, as in the title of this thread, is with the SIM not being recognized at all and the reboot that occurs 3 times/minute. This happened before, after 10/15 resets, the phone " got back to normal " and everything was fine, then, I tried to fix the data mobile connection and after the reboot it snapped and didnt work..
I mention that the screen was replace, dont know if it has anything to do with it but I saw some topics online and wanted to mention.
WHAT I DID SO FAR:
Tried with 2 versions of Odin to downgrade to kitkat 4.4.2 but I think I got the wrong firmware (got the Germany one instead of UK) because it failed everytime with the mention Complete(write) operation failed.
Ill keep trying to downgrade but Im not sure the software is the real problem here as there are many many topics on this subject I wanted to ask for your oppinion.
Thanks in advance,

Hey pal I hope you made a EFS backup just before you started to play with your phone as the problem mitht be in the EFS,
also try to flash the correct stock firmware the right one for your country and carreer,
if that does not work try to flash a custom rom and if that does not work check if you dont have the reactivation lock ON and if it is on you will not be able to flash ANYTHING by odin
Let me know how it goes
Hey,
I didnt made any backup as I factory reseted it several times (I cleaned it before) and I dont know what that EFS backup is...
Im trying now with the correct firmware to see if it works. The reactivation lock is disabled.

and have you tryed to flash twrp or cwm recovery than a custom rom?
Did you try getting a new SIM card from your carrier?
It's probably not a software issue, but a card one.
I had the same problem you have and the first thing I did before doing anything else was replacing my old SIM with a new one and the issue resolved itself...
Dear XDA-Developers members,
I have an issie with my Galaxy S5 900f. I have installed XtreStolite Rom for this device. But i was getting process stop errors of every applications on the phone. I though i can use wipe data option in the TWRP Recovery mode to solve this problem, but i got there an error that reactivation lock on the phone was enabled. Then i have downloaded the latest firmware on Sammobile the original one. I have flashed my device using Odin but then the phone asks me to enter the samsung account which i dont have. I havent added this phone to any samsung account. I went to Samsung Experince store to solve this problem but they said that an illegal software was installed on this phone therefore they cant solve this problem. They saw this on the Knox warranty void 0x1 (2) text which you can find in the download mode of this phone. Now i cant use my phone anymore bcz, i cant bypass the samsung account screen.
Can anyone help me with this issiue?
regards,

You're going to have to flash a Stock KitKat ROM with ODIN, from sammobile .com
Log into all accounts, and then disable reactivation lock
I've PM'd a mod about getting a warning added to that ROMs thread, as this is getting ridiculous now
I have also tiried to install the kit kat rom but when i enter download mode of the phone i see Reactivation Lock : ON and after installation the phone doesnt start anymore. It hangs on the Samsung logo but dont boot.

Sure you were in Download Mode and not Recovery?
Yes, it will say reactivation lock is enabled, because it is, and this is how to disable it
This is a tried and proven method to disable reactivation lock, keep trying, and make sure you are in the correct mode, with correct drivers, and ODINs latest version
Unless you are one of the unlucky few who can not flash stock ROMs.... which is why this custom ROM is a disgrace and should be removed
Another member had luck flashing that Xtre.... ROM again from TWRP, and disabling reactivation lock during setup of that ROM before it reaches the homescreen
I have tried a lot of times. This is the odin log :

Just a quick check, the phone says G900F in Download Mode?
As long as it does, flash this PIT file at the same time as the ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2721101&d=1399024091
Extract the PIT file to .PIT, and add to the PIT section
Flash PIT and ROM together in ODIN

If it still won't boot, try booting to recovery, and factory reset / clear caches

Great, OK, well try creating a new account, and log in with that
Make sure you're logged in with your Google account too, and update everything, maybe something the samsung account needs is out of date
Do not update the ROM yet though, it needs to stay on KK until you disable reactivation

Found this, give it a shot:
- Go to Samsung web (account.samsung.com) to login if you have an account.
- Click profile and then on the unsubscribe button after login. This will remove your login details from Samsung.
- Come back to the Galaxy settings and click accounts and sync.
-Click add account. Then click Samsung and signup again as a new user.

Great
That ROM has been removed and closed, so hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else
How did you manage to get KitKat to flash in the end? (Just for anyone else who finds this thread)
After installing the stock firmware i have wiped data using recovery. Then it goes on So if someone else hangs on the Samsung Logo, you can just wipe data and factory reset in the recovery menu, en it will work..

Thanks, Good stuff
Hi,
i have bypassed SM-G903F Google Account !!! I think its works on others too!!
you need a USB-OTG Cable , than the oldest Firmware you can found ,i used G903FXXU1AOH4_DBT1AOG4_Germany_5.1.1 this!!!
Flash it with Odin!!!!
Now Search 4 the "samsung bypass google verify.apk or Bypass any Samsung Google Account Lock.apk" its both the same!!!
now copy the apk to the USB/SD/... and when the Phone shows the Google Activation Login, plug in your USB-OTG Cable!!
Now its open the File-Explorer and you can install the apk!!!
Now you can activate the oem-unlock,...... and so you can reboot Odin and flash Root or Recovery and now its no Problem to remove the Google Activation Login via Recovery!!
PS i have tested it on newer Firmwares and its NOT Working!!!
MFG
Hello there.
I've had this problem with Odin. I have a Galaxy S4 and I've been trying to change it's baseband, however, when I try to flash a modem on Odin this is what happens:
<ID:0/003> Transmission Complete..
<ID:0/003> Now Writing..
Please wait about 2 minutes
<ID:0/003> FAIL! (Auth)
<ID:0/003>
<ID:0/003> Receive Response from boot-loader
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I've tried to flash modems with TWRP, it says success but it doesn't actually change anything. Please, is there a way to forcefully flash the modem with Odin? Am I making a mistake with the recovery and that's why nothing changes?
I'm not looking for advice about risk of bricking, this phone is already useless to me unless I change it's modem. I MUST enable GSM bands.
The model is SCH-R970. Help me out please :'(
happened with me before once
i enabled usb debugging in settings -> developer mode
it fixed the issue for me
It's already enabled. Without that I think Odin wouldn't even try.
Why do you even think that you can unlock gsm? You cannot flash modems from a different version of the s4. And on a sidenote you cannot flash modems true the recovery anymore.
I think I'll just wipe efs and see if I can do something else. If anything goes wrong I'll have to buy an I9505/6 board. But still, does anybody here know how to forcefully flash a new modem/baseband? I asume the risk of bricking, just tell me how.
I already gave you the answer. It's impossible.
If you want to enable GSM bands, you need to enter the service menu of the phone and enable them there. Search Google, because I did find a post explaining how to do it along with any pitfalls involved. But that was a year ago, and it was in the midst of searching for a solution to my issues I had with the device back then.
As @Lennyz1988 mentioned already, flashing a modem from another model will not work. Odin will always reject it.
