In the beginning of this year, my daughter AT&T LG g2 phone got OTA update to Lollipop. After that, phone battery did not last long and phone got hot very often. I reloaded AT&T KitKat ROM and it worked fine again until last week. Phone could not be turned on - black screen. Sometimes, it came up but reboot again randomly. She tried multiple soft reset but most of the times, phone just stuck in LG logo. I did hard reset, and it tried to came up and frozen during "new phone setup". Right before it freeze, phone speaker made a loud noise.
I replaced battery and same thing (random reboot, frozen screen) happened. I then tried reload the AT&T KitKat ROM again. That did not fix the problem.
My question is that is this a hardware issue or ROM issue ? Phone could go into download mode, and Hard reset mode, but not recovery mode. I could never get it into recovery mode - phone off; holding Down Vol and Power buttons; when LG logo appeared, let go both buttons and press/hold them again until recovery menu appeared. I could not see any recovery menu All I saw was the LG logo again.
Thanks.,

guys yesterday i started to flash the smartphone because i was fed up with the stock rom, after a bit of advice i opted for the clougy g3! starting by rootting the phone and install a recovery (which, however, could start only by phone on) I installed this rom which at first look is great for customization and style and also for speed.
today after making a backup of data of the phone whit titan backup fails to come into the gallery and do not make me choose the settings how to change the soft keys of the home, in both cases, says it has stopped working or something like that so I decided to do a soft reset by wipe date cache and devil in recovery and reboot the phone that it stops on the lg logo and does not go forward! Now I no longer get into recovery because I cant do that by turned off phone and then I'm stuck at the lg logo and I do not know what to do!
looking on the internet I read that to get into recovery I have to hold the power button + down button longer until you will see lg logo and then release them and push again, but doing so takes me to a wild white screen "hard factory reset" plz help fast
The hard reset screen is correct, it won't actually reset the phone but it will send you into recovery. Get to that screen and press the power button a few times to go through it and it should take you into TWRP

Dear friends of xda,
let me say something first. i'm a possessor of a brand new zuk z1 since a week. from day 1 i've rooted it with kingroot and then switched to SuperSu because i didn't succed installing adb drivers on my laptop.
so i'm stock. no custom recovery no unblocked bootloader, just root permissions.
a week went by with no problem. just a couple of freeze here and there. nothing much.
today i was playing on my bed and suddenly the phone got really really hot. everything is frozen. i can only drag down the status bar. but if i press some icon or button nothing happpen. Ok i'm like well another freeze. i press and hold power button. screen get black. phone vibrate. aaaaaaaand i'm stuck at zuk screen. really?
after searching the web i tried to enter in recovery mode. after many tries i succed. so i tried to do a factory reset. it asked me if i'm sure, as i press yes the screen goes black for a while and then the phone reboot in recovery again. mmm strange. so i tried to wipe cache. it happen the same as before. it did not even asked me if i was sure. so i pressed 'power off' thinking that a real boot would repair the situation but no. my phone decided to self brick. ok. i throw in the towel.
so i decided to plug the charger in and went to do stuff.
when i come back home 3 hours later. i softly press the power button and the phone says it is at 99% . i tried to boot it up. and guess what? it boots normally. like nothing never happened.
so. what do you think is happened? i've some background but i've never seen something like this.
could be a problem of overheating? what should i do now? and what if it happens again?
sorry for the wall of text.
tl;dr: rooted phone get really hot. freeze. and after powering it off went in bootloop. nothing could be done in stock recovery. after some hour it booted up normally. what to do now?
So basically this rom is awesome but it had only one problem. When I plugged my phone in the charger while it was turned off, it bootlooped until I restarted with the cable off. It was no big deal and nothing bad ever came out of it.
Yesterday my batter ran out while I was asleep and when I woke up it was already turned off. I, absentmindly, tried to turn it on, LG Logo, off again. Did it one more time, nothing happened, realized it's out of battery. Plugged in charger, try to turn it off/on, usual bootloop happens. Say ok and proceed with what I always did, phone gets past LG Logo, goes into SlimLP boot animation and for the first it has just stayed there. No restarts, just endless loading. Longest i Left it on to load was about 45 minutes. Never got back on.
Apart from that, I think that for some reason my recovery got uninstalled somehow, by itself, a few weeks ago. I only noticed this because before, when I wanted to get into recovery, I pressed the usual buttons and it went straight into TWRP. Now the same buttons take me to the "Factory reset screen". I know that everyone says to just go ahead and press power, but I am afraid, since I am not sure if TWRP is still functioning. This happened to me another time on the same phone, and when I confirmed the factory reset, it factory resetted.
My problem here is that I want to get my music and photos. I'm only able to enter that factory reset screen and download mode. Can I "flash" twrp safely from download mode? Should I use Flash Tool 2014 and Normal flash(which says it keeps the data) a stock g2 rom? Can I mount my phone to the computer in download mode to copy my files? I want the most risk-free approach.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, first If you can enter download mode I think you can flash kdz (Kitkat) file to stock using Flash Tool 2014. But I had this problem once and the keep data flashing didn't work (stucked at 50%), I ended up flashed it with other option (erased all data).
2. You can try the "Factory reset" nice and easy.
I think you can't see files on the device unless you enter Twrp.
It's wise to backup your phone on the computer montly or so, thank you.
I went ahead and nuked my download mode using the SRK tools. Then got access to fastboot, through which I booted to twrp and then I could move my files. All's fine, flashed my ROM again and it's going better than ever.
Hey,
I have D802 16GB with pre-last CM version. Wanted to restart the phone (no mods nor installing apps before, just a normal restart) and the trouble started:
-it was stucking on LG logo and then screen turning off; sometimes it came to CM boot animation followed by turned off screen
-managed to boot the phone in safe mode in order to backup files from the phone, it freezed and turned off. Booted in safe mode few times again, the freeze was coming faster and faster
-once or twice phone booted up normally, freezed very soon
-booted to safe mode couple of more times. I noticed the phone was freezing shortly after releasing the volume buttons.
-booted up in normal mode, was holding the volume up button during the boot. The phone worked normally, after couple of mins released the volume button. Few mins after the phone freezed.
-LG logo was shown few more times out of dozens of attempts with different power button and volume buttons combinations
-LG logo showed for a short moment after pluging the charger
-now nothing happens at all, even when connected to charger or PC. The computer doesn't detect any device.
I really want to get the data that are in internal memory of the phone. What should I do? What happened with my phone?
Found this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404
but will the internal memory data be affected? Moreover, there is written:
12 After attaching buttons plate, check your device going into download mode, and use flash tool to flash stock rom.

On the phone is CM which is not stock ROM, can I proceed?
Each advice will be much appreciated
Im so lost with this, im all stock but one day my phone just freezes then bootloop, I would be able to get it work by just leaving it and let it drain itself since it will be boot looping and lock me out completely, like the power button + low volume button would not work even after 10 minutes of holding it, would not boot to download or recovery mode, just the soft touch keys light on and the blue LED.
I reflashed my ROM from sammobile yesterday but did it half-effort, just dirty flashed it but it seemed to reformatted my phone anyway, after reflashing it, everything seemed to work properly for 20 hours and then now im back to this piece of ********* boot looping...
S7 Edge
running the Australia unbranded XSA-G935FXXS1DQG4 from the branded G935FXXS1DQG5,
would flashing de-branded affect this? or this is hardware?, one thing I did that I think was a mistake is that I chose to restore from old device, can apps cause this?
the very first time this happened, I plugged it in to charge then crash and bootloop.
UPDATE:
Things I've tried,
-Booting with NO sim card and SD Card
-Wiping cache and partition then reflashing stock XSA and OPS firmwares
im convinced that this is a hardware issue and will go to Samsung.
mine does this too. crashes then gets into a bootloop at the Samsung logo. I usually try holding the lock and volume down button. I factory reset the phone once but it still keeps happening, this started happening around 4 weeks ago
Guys your Main/Mother-boards are broken.. u need to replace it, or send back to Samsung..
Damn! Crash reboot samsung logo
Damn you say broken mother board...
did this. Press vol down, power button and home key...hmmm... i think...pressed so many combos hard to tell themapart
