Android 5.1.1 Lollipop final over-the-air (OTA) upgrade will be rolled out to Samsung Galaxy S2 handsets. It will arrive this year with security patches and performance enhancements.
Samsung Galaxy S2 devices, both under the mobile carriers and unlocked version, are expected to get the final OTA report on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrade in December or October. While it may appear unlikely for a few that a device run presently Jelly Bean will receive the upgrade, a lot of analysts are convinced of the likelihood as a few Samsung mid-range and older devices have been getting Lollipop's official software edition by a string of upgrades in September, iUSB Preface reported.

Maybe. I have CM 12.1 nightly and it is mostly OK, except that Bluetooth is still broken, like it has been in 5.x all the time. The last stable CM that has working Bluetooth is SlimSaber 4.4.4.
Will it be available for S2 HD? (SGH-i757M)
It would be cool becouse there is no lolipop ROM for our devise and all KitKats lag pretty much. Despite the devise has faster hardware than original S2. It's just lacks good software development, unfortunately.

Sammy has not released 5.1.1 update for the previous "flashship" Galaxy S5, not corrected stagefright, and don't care about i9100 since several years...
Of course it is fake... They skipped 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 5.0
Why would they release 5.1.1???

Yes, we have, but unfortunately it does not quite work. Bluetooth is broken and phone runs out of memory in day or two.

Mine works without reboots. I use greenify and xposed framework.. 400mb free ran on idle

Is not even get official 5.1.1 ... the support for this devices ended up before 2-3 years.. so no official
but guys.. touchwiz Lollipop for old device like s2 is like the expensive car without the wheels.... But custom roms for s2 is pretty good.

my S2 works fine, including the bluetooth and all.
now i'm on the latest CM and it's all goooood

Hey guys, i've called Samsung Brasil and they told me that our S3 Mini will get the 4.2.2 update in the upcoming weeks, they are planning to make it before december 20th. Great news for us!!! They complete it with what's new: Some apps will have the s4 look, lockscreen with camera widget... So, let's wait.
This is NOT a joke, i've really talked to Samsung Brasil, try calling yours country's Samsung.

Did they finally updated drivers
WHile the other deviced got directly 4.3 we will have 4.2.2? At least something.
4.2.2 ...? i dont want to be negative but... 4.2.2 is already old, now we have 4.4 wating for OEMs to update his own skins... :silly:
At least samsung should update our device to 4.3 since they skipped the 4.2.2 as the normal S3, plus, our device have never received an android update beyond android 4.1.x.
Every update is cool, I know, but come on, other samsung devices are getting 4.3, why ours not?

Yes but it's bearable. In cm there are variate bugs as random reboots etc. Also stock ROM has Samsung apps and Touchwiz which I personally like it. I will probably go back to stock update if it comes and when cm 4.4 kitkat is released by maclaw I will return to it...
I really doubt they are going to release a update to our phone... But obviously I would love that to happen

Samsung refuses to give even a clue about a Rom release. If you ask they give the old response that the firmware is in testing and may be released at any time...
Well as Exynos devices (however only for Russia) have got the official update I don't think ours will be much further from release. Now whether I will upgrade to it or not is an entirely different question. I think the update should be available within one month from now.

When Samsung update the freakin' Note 4 to 5.1.1 we may end up getting the new TouchWix UX or whatever it's called, but in all honesty I don't think that's going to happen (just my opinion)- we'll probably get the new TouchWiz with Android M.

The American variants have 5.1.1 and don't have the new tw and theme engine.
When we do get 5.1.1 it will make it a lot easier to port s6 and n5 features though so you will see lots of custom roms with the new launcher

I hope so....when i bought this smansug I said that the development will be good.....But as Fo now....NO miui NO decent porting NO flyme (like g2 that I owned ) only 2 3 reliable rom and nothing else....I m very disappointed with Samsung update method and the development. ....I only wait u to see if there will be a good porting of note 5 cause I keep my eyes on everything u post ....u are great man!

Got to be honest I agree. Apart from the cm roms for the 910f development has just about stopped. I've tried miui on my old n2 but never tried porting it.
Hopefully now we have the n5 system development should start to pick up

My last phone was an LG, but was also an ATT phone. Updates took around 1-2 months to receive after other variants of my phone got their updates. But LG released their updates at about the same speed at Samsung IMO. However, I think they at least kept people up to date with ETAs.

No, because was Samsung that certified the device, because every official system update needs to be wifi requirements compliant

But the release can be very slow, just like the Lollipop update for the S5 mini
Official support ends this year July. If they intend on releasing it'll be before then.
very lucky in compare to the s3/s4 users. so we got our last update 2015 and now another one. great! cant take a long time to get it
I hope it arrives faster than lollipop because I am still waiting on that upgrade on my unbranded s5 mini.

GUys in the argentina page of samsung there is a user manual that says Marshmallow, it doesn't contain any info about marshmallow it just says marshmallow, let's hope we get marshmallow soon.

Just to support nico_vo and dars2 statement. There are certifications for F/M/Y-Variants and they are all from 05/05/16. Sadly there is nothing about the H-Version.

Have used @Androidwizzard's release as a daily driver for quite some time now. Been bouncing among a few kernels such as Xtreme Kernel V3 and Nemesis but am currently back on stock kernel to reassess battery life, which also seems to be the most stable and long lasting.

depends on the variant I think. Some 920C got UX updates as well as 9208 versions on Taiwan.
And some reported that Korean Versions got updated today to nougat.
