Hey everyone, let me start off that I love XDA and I have been using this site for years! So let me give you a little history. I am still on 4.4.4. Recently I finally updated it to 5.0 and retained root, sweet! I also had a custom lollipop recovery that allowed me to go back to 4.4.x. However, I needed the wireless tether function and I could not find a way to get it unlocked without flashing some mod (which would brick my phone) so I used ODIN to flash back to a rootable tar image that I have always used. It was 4.4.2 on NI2 Kernal. Now normally, no matter how many times I ODIN'ed it, flashed it, restore a backup, everything would be up and running in no time. However, lately my phone has not been able to connect to the network completely for some reason. I can make/receive calls and texts. Anything using data though would not work. I called Verizon to see if they could reset something from the back end and they saw me and connected and running. Needless to say, their help ended almost immediately. I am currently running Ricks ROM v19.2 G900VVRU1ANI2 and was only able to connect to data one time a couple of days ago. I had to restart though and when it booted back up, it lost the data again. It does show that I am connected to 4G LTE, strong signal. I have tried the stock ROM 4.4.2, fresh install of Ricks ROM, restore my backup of Ricks Rom (maybe two weeks old), tried Eclipse ROM, nothing seems to be working. I've never submitted anything on here asking for help so this is a first for me cause normally I can fix any problems I create, however, I cannot figure this out for the life of me. Does anyone have any suggestions that I can try? Thanks in advance!

Hi all,
I recently installed the newest build of Slimbean. I am having a few issues: I am unable to play any media... Music, videos (youtube). My phone app does not work. I cannot receive nor send any calls. And my phone produces no sounds at all.
I tried installing build 7 to see if it was an issue with the build I was using... didn't help.
Internet and wifi work without any problems.
Galaxy S4 i337m
Baseband: I337MUMUAMDL
Version: Slim-4.2.2.build.7-OFFICIAL
Build #: slim_jfltecan-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39E eng.blk_jack.20130706.15730 test-keys
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Update: Any ROM I install... Phone and sounds do not work.

I'd Odin back to stock and see if you still have the issue. If you do it's a hardware issue.

I did just that... But it's a bit of a story.
I had just fixed another problem I was having yesterday. Was getting stuck at the S4 splash screen right after powering on the phone. The problem was caused by TWRP 2.6 and formatting /data partition. Long story short, I installed CWM and used it to do a full wipe/format of partitions and then was able to install ROMs, restore backups without issue.
So today, since everything was working, I decided to flash a new custom ROM (which I installed) and the MG1 radio. Wasn't having any luck with the radio. Finally, I was able to flash a radio via mobile odin, but then I soft bricked my phone. Got stuck at the S4 splash screen (same issue I had yesterday, but this time, a different cause). So was troubleshooting it all day. Tried to go back to stock, no luck. Tried to restore the stock backup I had, no luck. Only thing I could do was install custom ROMs at this point to get into my phone (i.e. Slimbean, FoxHound, etc...). But, at this point, although I could boot into Android, I had no sound at all and couldn't play video. So after hours of trial and error, I installed CWM again (replacing TWRP 2.5.0.2), did a full wipe/format and tried to install a stock ROM. No luck. Still was hanging at the S4 splash screen. Then I tried to install this ROM again which I had luck with in the past; |ROM| |★VLUAMG1★| |CANADIAN||i337M||STOCK||ROOTED||July.26.13|. But his instructions said to install a wifi fix or fear soft bricking my phone. So I installed the wifi fix, but selected the wrong file (I know, stupid. Done a lot of stupid **** in the past couple days with this phone). Now, after the phone rebooted, I would see the S4 splash screen for a split second, and it would auto load into download (odin) mode. Couldn't get into recovery at all. So then I decided to flash one of the stock ROMs I tried earlier that didn't work, but this time, SUCCESS!!!!! Phone was booting and all sounds worked. I could make/receive phone calls as well... Everything seems to be working fine now. I find it funny that flashing a wifi fix that I shouldn't have seems to have fixed my issue in a sense. Since it allowed me to successfully flash a stock ROM. So I am making a backup of the stock ROM and will decide what I'm going to do from here.
Holy goalie!!! It's been a very vexing couple of days.
Nice that you got it all worked out, I've found out that if your "status" is custom, it will sometimes give you problems when flashing a "stock" rom via odin.
So what I always do when reverting back to the stock rom, I use triangle away to clear the flash count and make my phone back to "Official". If you want the steps to do this, let me know, it's not hard, but there are crucial steps to get this right!

I've searched and searched here and everywhere and do not have a clue how to get mobile data back after a bad flash of a custom Lollipop ROM. I have the Verizon G2 and would appreciate any suggestions. I've been working on this all day and haven't found any answers that worked.
I keep trying to go back to the ROM I was on before, but I stupidly deleted the files and the 1.3GB download keeps failing after an hour or so. Tried to install it via computer, but apparently it is too big to move via cable.
I did install a different KitKat ROM, but still didn't have mobile data (only wifi).
The computers I have access to have real trouble recognizing and acknowledging my phone, so I can't (yet) go back to stock.
I'm at a loss.
This is somewhat urgent because I am leaving the country for two weeks on Friday, and need a working phone. I am not sure what happened today, but my Sprint Galaxy S4 (SPHL720TBK) wouldn't connect to WIFI at my house. My tablet would, so I know it was a phone issue. I rebooted then was going through settings, and just checking things. The phone rebooted itself, and when it came back up, it went through a couple of screens, one of which asked about activation. It seemed like it was installing an update from Sprint, which it had been trying to do for a week or so. But it kept failing, saying it didn't have enough space for the download, despite there being several GB free internally and on the SD card. (I figured it must be because it was rooted). After a couple of additional screens on which I could only answer OK, the phone rebooted again, and that was it. It would not boot again. I decided to power off the phone and deal with it tonight. I can boot into recovery, and connect with Odin. I can boot to recovery and connect with ADB (in sideload mode). I know I could just do a factory reset, but unfortunately, I do not have a full backup since the end of January, and I would rather not lose everything. The phone was running v 4.4.2. I had rooted the phone several months ago with CF Auto Root using CF-Auto-Root-jfltespr-jfltespr-sphl720.tar.md5, so it was essentially stock, but rooted. Is there anything I can do to get the phone back on its feet that will not lose everything? Or anyway to copy data from the phone with it in this state? Any assistance will be VERY much appreciated! Thanks!
Fixed it myself

Since I didn't spark enough interest for anyone to offer advice, had to spend most of the afternoon/evening fixing these problems myself. Everything seems to be working, so I thought I would pass along key parts of this hard-learned lesson in case anyone else finds himself in such a situation.
First I booted into adb sideload mode, which is all I could do anyway. I installed philz_touch_6.23.9-jflte.zip and the aromafm.zip. I was then able to boot into a "normal" recovery mode. Aromafm was troublesome, and I eventually had to manually put the zip into place for it to work consistently. These are both WONDERFUL , and I highly recommend them both. Thanks very much to the creators! I used the file manager to find the files that I didn't want to lose, and used ADB to pull the files over to my PC. (ADB pull <source> <target>) Then I did a full wipe and factory reset. That did little other than delete all my data, which I had already copied anyway. The phone still would not boot past recovery.
I tried to use ADB to install a new ROM, but got a variety of errors. My phone being an L720T, there are not many ROM's available, at least not for which I could find functioning links. I finally found a TAR, L720TVPUBNG5_L720TSPTBNG5_L720TVPUBNG5_HOME.tar.md5, and used ODIN v3.09 to install that.
I still need to go back and re-root the phone, and install lots of APPS and restore data, but at least I have a functioning phone, and I can do the rest on my plane ride tomorrow.
I found the information I needed in a variety of posts here on xda developers, and would not have been able to get through this without all the helpful advice posted to other threads. So thanks to all of you for the wealth of information available here!
I had been running CM12.1 for about six months now, but during that time I went from having 4G failing to switch to 3G and vice versa to 4G no longer working at all, and considering the CM13 unofficial rom floating around here I decided to give it a shot.
Before then, I wanted to do PRL / Profile update, so I flashed the beloated OD2 rom rather than downloading the 1.4GB official roms. Booted it, yada yada, 4g was working immediately but wifi would not turn on. Strange. I did my prl / profile update, rebooted, wiped system / data again, and installed CM13. Of course, cellular did not work at all, so I tried falling back to 12.1 again thinking a fresh install might restore cellular data. Wrong, this morning my CM12.1 install had working 3G, now nothing is working.
So I go and grab OK3 from sammobile since its the latest and flashing that does not work either. Recovery should have nothing to do with it, but I've been bouncing between latest TWRP and stock recovery from OK3, and of particular note all the stock recovery refuses to flash any stock roms, as does heimdall. Only way to flash any of these roms reliably is with TWRP at the moment.
So pretty much the issue is that cdma works on stock and wifi works on CM, but I kind of need both working on either rom to actually use my phone, and I'll take either at this point. I mean, why in the world does wifi work in Cyanogenmod but I cannot turn it on on any version of stock?
Unrelated, but I got this strange bug where the bootloader is insta-powering off the first time I do power + volup into recovery, so I have to hold the combo through two power cycles to actually get it to start recovery.
Update: I repeated the process and now have working wifi on OK3. So thats a thing. Now I'm just hoping CM13 will work with Freedompop one day so I can merge my data + sd card and finally install some apps on my phone.
I have a LG G2 Verizon Factory Unlocked VS980.... For service I have Straight Talk on a Verizon CDMA BYOD sim. It worked great stock. I never had a problem at all. 4G LTE all night and day, as soon as i put the sim in for the first time and turned it on the first time. Well i then used iroot, and AutoRec to flash TWRP. Stock it was on 24a 4.2.2. I like KitKat more then LP alot so I didnt really want to go to LP. I first Flashed a VS980 boot variant mod CM11 and it worked great. It kept my Data straight through the Flash. It held data for weeks no problem. Well at home I use WIFI and dont every try Data so one day I have no idea Data quit working until i went out, All mobile Data just quit working and i cant even use GPS, only calls and Text, no MMS either. I came home, searched up some APNs and edited it and it came back instantly. I thought that was pretty easy. Then I wanted to test the xdabbeb 2.3.0 because i liked the stock LG KK more then a CM Rom. Data again held through the Flash and for about the same time, 2 weeks, then suddenly one day i go out, goto pull up my broswer for internet and NO DATA. So I went home and couldnt edit a APN on this ROM, Every time i set it to the APN i found i hit SAVE and it just vanished, about 30 times i typed it in over and over. So I factory reset, didnt work, Flashed to 39A and tried LP Roms, Didnt work, Changed APNs on LP roms, Didnt work. Wiped it clean, flashed BACK to Stock 26a via KDZ, Didnt work. Changed APNs on stock, and wouldnt save again like before, It would save until i changed a certian field in the APN. So i went back to CM11 and set the APN, different APNs, Variations, still wouldnt work, So I went back to 28a Baseband, and flashed Xdabbebs KK rom again and again didnt work, but I loaded a Nandroid backup of that rom from the very first time i flashed it when it did work, and that brought my data back! So i sailed smooth on it for about about a week and BOOM, gone again!! I goto the Mobile Network settings and it shows 4G and 1X almost full signals, and LTE on the status bar still, when last time it didnt show LTE or the 4G's.
So, Im going to load this Nandroid again i suppose and see how it works, But what could be the problem? What is Changing settings wise or whatever and how? I am confused as hell on this! Can someone please help me out? I hate resetting my phone all the time, and dont want to make sure i have an OTG and my flash drive with me at all times and all my .apk's on my incase i need a weekly emergency Nandroid restore.
