How to unlock the screen? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, my daughter has forgot her unlock pattern and can't unlock the screen. There is no such thing as a pin-code i can use to bypass this, so how can i solve this?
A total wipe would do the trick, but i have nooooo idea how to do it without going into settings...
The unit is 100% stock, NOT rooted and stock recovery.
Please, tell me there's a solution :/

HI guys I tried searching before I asked, but the just the thread from the galaxy nexus came up, and was wondering if it is the same on the nexus 7. Does unlocking the bootloader wipe the device?
It did for me when i used the 1.5.1 version of the tool.
Yes unlocking wipes the device.
Thanks mates, guess it was anomaly that the gnex from the play store didn't wipe

Factory Unlock Nexus 7

Hi, is there any way i can know if my Nexus 7 is factory unlocked!!
i don't plan to root it.. i am able to use it without any issue's..
any suggestions
As far as I know they are not unlocked from factory. Why would you worry about it being unlocked if you don't plan on rooting it?

I was considering of updating to the new OTA JB 4.1.2, it said that i dint need to root it, but i need to be sure if it was factory unlocked, so for that I was not sure.. is there any way that i could find out!!
Just start up your device. If you see a opened lock in the bottom of the screen when it shows "Google", your device is unlocked.
The update should come if you are stock. No need to worry about unlocking or root.

help bricked my nexus 7

okay here's what i did unlocked bootloader, rooted then installed twrp, installed PA then installed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel.free then rebooted after that stuck at google logo
Did u flash a kernel within the app first???
Just reinstall the ROM will probably fix it. Don't bother wiping anything since your staying on PA.

Yeah same thing happened to me except different kernel. Just reflash ROM or working kernel. Not bricked just an incorrect kernel choice.
