Hello I was wondering if a Dev could port touch wiz from the note 2 so we can get the great multitasking and the other features if thus could be possible I would be highly appreciated I don't have the money right now to donate for this but if I get extra cash I might be able to drop for cash but thank you Dev for all the hard work you do for the nexus 4 I salute u

Multitasking is made possible due to modification in touchwiz framework as well as changes to 10-12 apps that support it like browser.
TW framework hogs lots of resources. Even Note2 lags far far more than Nexus.

No. Touchwiz camera is difficult to port even for aosp roms for samsung devices.
About multi Window check cornerstone it came long before Note2 there was a time when CM considered adding it. You can check if some dev is ready to include it in their Roms

Purchase a Note 2 or SGS3 if you want those features. Those features are only for TouchWiz roms, tied with the frameworks and such. Closed drivers for the camera and what not so no this will not happen.
But the thing is I like a nexus I will not support Samsun

Source code is written in 1 or more programming languages. After it goes through a compiler it is horribly difficult to reverse engineer. Actually, horribly difficult doesn't sound hard enough.

You want Samsung features you need to support Samsung and buy their products. Getting a fully functional touchwiz ROM on a non Samsung device will most likely not happen.

Hi,
Im currently using note 2. And I'm getting tired of it I think I'm getting nexus 4 instead
Will the nexus 4 receive android 5 ?
I heard some rumours about Google making new flagship phone for Android 5.0
Thanks in advance
Nexus devices will always receive the newest android version for a while. So expect the nexus 4 to get upcoming versions. As for the x phone, its up to you. I just got my nexus last Friday and very happy with it

I believe the GNote 2 is also getting 5.0 but it's going to be much later than Nexus devices. Lol
What is it that you're tired of ? Is it the huge screen size of the GNote ? The specs on the GNote are pretty great imo.

+1 and you have the choice of touch wiz or aosp on the N4 it's just aosp... Sometimes I get bored and wish I could get a skin like sense or touch wiz they've both really improved throughout these years and they're optimizations help the android experience!

Oh hell yeah. Adding on to that statement, you also realize that Android 4.4 KitKat is supposed to be supporting older devices and be hardware friendly. Sure it'll come to the Google Nexus, probably the first devices to receive it too. It might even hit the oldest generation of the GNex as well. I have an S4, but my fav ROM is the Google Edition 4.3 which is what I'm running right now! I've been looking on various news articles about 4.4 and I'm extremely excited for it! Apparently, there's rumors that we're going to be receiving a launcher with 4.4 called "Google Experience". It's not a huge update but there are some subtle UI changes which is what I'm dying to get to use. Hopefully it's all what we're looking for!
:good:

I predict the 28th of October. The rumors I've seen suggested the 18th or 28th, but I believe it should be released on a Monday and that would suggest the 28th. Anyone else notice that in recent times Android releases have rotated between Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday? 4.3 was released on a Wednesday so 4.4 should be released on a Monday.

It is and has been a rumor as far as the release date goes. People now would like to say it'll be released on the 28th due to hints on KitKat's twitter page. Who knows. As far as that goes it's all just the media's speculation and none of it is 100% legit.

We are moving directly to 4.4. I dont like to discuss timing. It just puts a lot of stress on the team, and there is always a chance we find something which delays us a bit.
Rest assured, we are on it. You have seen the speed with which we are moving as a Google company, that shall continue.

I'm somewhat optimistic about it because they were relatively prompt in sending out an update for the camera. Not their fault that some of the carriers dragged ass.

They have broken the applications apart from the os and put them in the play store. Consistently updated their applications. Reached out to the developers in the community for suggestions. Have addressed a new concern of mine with the announcement of skipping 4.3. Saying that they haven't done anything is a bit of a stretch.

I went from an OG Droid (amazing, started my love for android), Droid 2 (meh), Droid 3 (meh), Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S4, now the Moto X. I kind of feel the way I did about the OG Droid with the Moto X. If Moto keeps pushing out quality phones like the X, with fairly timely updates, I'm going to stick with them. Hopefully Google and Motorola don't let us down
This is great news... May keep from buying a nexus 5....but I'm still gonna handle one just to see it and see how it performs and feels. I've been very pleased with my moto X though, more than I have with any other device.

i dont mind this at all.
i mean i don't get caught up in the version numbers per se, but the features.
i honestly am not really sure what is so different about 4.2 and even 4.1 other than it hink some stuff in the settings bar is slightly different. 4.3 added trim support natively but from the anandtech review i know moto backported that to their version of 4.2.2. so that doesnt matter either.
4.4 at least i figure is a big enough jump. before the moto x i was using a razr M on 4.1.2 and honestly i can barely tell the difference OS wise between any of these (and i had 4.3 on a nexus 7 for a while, honestly all the jelly bean labeled 4.1-4.3 variants are basically the same)

So we can expect 4.4 cust rom for note 2
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I remember reading on an official Samsung notice that the note2 will be updated to at least 5, which was expected to be released in October, but 4.4 arrived in its place.
4.4 is designed to work on lower spec devices, which should free up some resources to allow for the resource hungry note 3 apps to be ported over. so 4.4 certainly WILL make an appearance on the Note II. and a high probability of at least one more update to 5.0.
then we can start threads crying about the lack of ported apps from the note4 and note5....
