[Q] Galaxy S4 (GT-i9500) Official Lollipop update on Indian Version, any bad ?

Hello there,
I have downloaded the official version of GT-i9500 Lollipop 5.0.1 ROM , Russia release , from Sammobile. Its a typical odin version single tar file. If I have install this on my Indian Galaxy S4 (GT-i9500) , by pointing the Odin (3.09) AP/PDA to the corresponding tar file alone , will it succeed ?
I have seen a couple of threads showing installation of russian version on other phones, but in that all, the zip file contains , 4 tar file for each section , pda, ser and so on. So I doubted if I proceed with only pointing the PDA and rest 3 section as blank on my Indian versino of S4, will there be any problem ? As I am using it as a daily driver, I dont want to experiment and see the result.

Instructions
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
BACKUP before you do anything , EFS included

Hey ya... Alright, so you mean to say not to bother about the other 3 columns only to fill with AP/PDA with the downloaded tar file, So have you tried this before ? I know it works for same country ROMs , but not sure about a different country, so wanted the confirmation. If someone tried and found it working then I will go for it.

Hey Folks, I tried myself upgrading my GS4 with the official lollipop 5.0.1 Russia release on my India Phone, and it works fine. Just need to download the tar file from sammobile and point that in AP/PDA section of Odin 3.09, and start it off, Done ! It feel refreshing the new look and performance after the upgrade

Can this rom N915FY be flashed on a N915F

The roms for N915F can be flashed on N915FY, so i think that it's possible.

NO! You cannot because there is difference in modem. Different WCDMA and LTE bands!

It's done. But i don't like the new camera app. I found it very slow.

Hey, has anyone noticed any differences/ improvements over the previously released BOC6 update for Russia and CIS?

I bought my phone form amazon Germany

Running with BOC3 for 4 days, comming from BOC6, haven't noticed any difference.

No, you can use N915FYXXU1BOC3 ( BTU/XEF/XEO) or N915FXXU1BOC6 (SER)

today Lollipop 5.0.1 has arrived to Poland

hi guy.
This firmware and BOC6 (Russia) are exactly the same (changelist same) just CSC change and bootloader.If you flash this rom,you cant revert back to BOC6 without flash bootloader of BOC6 .

Go with _alexndr repacked firmware. Download and flash the COH4 version.

I flashed alexndr repack stock Rom(multi CSC) a few days ago
No issues so far,

Yep. Just extract the .7z file using 7zip and flash the tar.md5 file via odin

does that rom, have lock screen and action memo issues? like freezing when on fingerprint lock?

I have sm-p602, too. and I wondered this question. What should we do?
anndd, Is gear manager run clearly on sm-p602 / 5.1.1 ? because it doesnt work on 4.4.2 If anyone know these fix pls contact with me.

My game obb files are missing! What more is internal space used up by them are still used up! It happened after restarting the tab. I flashed Russia version. Factory reset didn't recover the used spaced. I hard reset the tab and the used space was recovered. But I am afraid that it will happen again. Can someone give me some advice?

yes can be rooted just use kingroot. its my choice of rooting software/method.

I use the canadian rom on my Galaxy Tab S2 (T810) and it works fine. You can choose different languages (german, english, french, etc.). Further it is possible to root your tablet. My prefered way is to flash TWRP 3.0.2 with ODIN 3 (PC). Then you copy the SuperSu zip-root-file to the internal memory. Start your tablet and boot into recovery mode. There you can install the zip-file to get root access. It is perfect.
