I am running stock and its rooted.
I have no clue on how to check the firmware without the settings application...feels sort of hopeless haha.
Do you think if I flash a new rom everything will work?
I don't have a recovery installed and everytime I try installing one I get the "seandroid enforcing" bit with it boot looping.

You can dirty flash the rom you are on without wiping and all should be restored, just reflash the custom recovery and reroot afterwards.

Uninstall rom manager ad never use it again mate, it used to be bad but lately its awfull. Just flash the CWM .tar file with Odin and you`re set. Link CWM recovery by Chenglu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454079. Pick the right .tar file and its done in a jiffy.

Yeah I just realized its pretty awful. I never personally used Odin before- do you know a step by step post that could get me familiar with flashing the tar file with Odin?
Thank you for you information thus far!

TWRP is not compatible with our devices, you need to use SafeStrap. Here is a link to the files you'll need.

Yes, it will wipe everything. If you're soft bricked it's going to be the only way to recover from it.

I'm not 100% sure on that.
Edit: Pull the recovery.img and convert it to a .tar.md5 file then you can flash it.

Need A little Help Please

ok so my kid was using my rooted (TWRP) TM350N and
had some problems playing a game. one of his friends
suggested a factory reset which he did and now all it
does it boot the the TWRP menu.
i downloaded and installed (using TWRP) the
JazzROM-SM-T350_7.1.1_v2.01.zip and it seemed
to install with no errors however it will still only
boot to the TWRP menu and i'm lost
any ideas ?
additionally holding down power-volume up-home or power-volume down-home
does nothing, it still boots to the TWRP menu every time.
hopefully it's not ruined

edit: You might as well upgrade to nougat at the same time. Because your son reset the tablet, you are going to have to re-install everything anyway.

With the latest Odin, you need to extract the files from the zip and flash each of them. I'd try first with just the AP and BL files.

Just boot into twrp and wipe everything. Done.
If you want to factory reset your phone, download a stock firmware from updato.com.
Download the latest Odin.
Flash the stock firmware & profit.
