hello all, searching the internet there are very few custon kernel for our Tegra note 7 .
but I found a kernel custon the shield (Tegra 4) kitkat nvidia.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nvi...-shield-kernel-development-t2920725?nocache=1
my question is whether the community can create a port Tn7 for our Tn7, in theory it would not have to be as complex as they share similar hardware.
I have not enough knowledge but I want to learn
this is a good custon kernel fixes several problems as
58Hz fixed
gpu and cpu oc
AE audio shuttering games
overall performance cpu and Governors
etc ....

if they like my idea down to work
PS: sorry for my bad English

Now, after approx 1/2 year our 7.7 (I have an 6810 wifi only) get smooth.
Stock ROM: No IPad-killer. To slow.
First CM10 builds: also not fluid enough. (remember in the tablet is a 1,4 GHz dualcore and fast GPU!)
Now since the last works of loccera on CM10, the tablet is quite fast. I'm using PA 2.20 at the moment. But it is just a new "distribution" (in linux sence: a compilation of sources and patches (nevertheless thank you very much for the great work andoguide.fr!!!!!) and NOT new development "under the hood". - It seems, just loccera is the only one who is able to do the hard coding work; including the CM10 basis for PA 2.20 for our 6800/6810 tablets.
So my question is: if it would be possible to merge additional governors to the kernel?
- smartassV2 is really awesome in fast response and will reduce lags in GUI (and is battery friendly).
- other govenors are also quite worth to try. like "pegasusq" or "hyper" (from 9100 and all newer equinox samsung devices)
As I know from my experiences with kernels on the galaxy ace 1 and now on the S2 9100 the last smoothness just come from the governor. So now, CM10 for 6800/6810 is just one step away to get be one of the smoothest/fastes tablets. - Would be nice to make the final tuning of the kernel l!!!
I suggest, it is not too hard to include the governors patches into the kernel!?!
Code basis should be very similar to the kernels of other equinox ARM processors (a lot of samsung phones have the same kind of processor and also MALI GPU as our tablet.)
Can somebody help??
p.s.
I'm still not allowed to post in the developer section. Therefore I must do here. If other feels the same. Please refer to this request in the CM10 section of loccera! Thank you!

It would also be great to see overclocking added (selection for 1600MHz in the stock performance options)
So for the newbies (I have been modding Androids for a years now):
What's the set-up you have found to work best? Are there any issues with it?
Here's mine:
Cyanogen 10 (ROM)
KTManta with kttweaker app(kernel)
interactive CPU: 2100/200 GPU:720/100 (Governor)
FIOPs(scheduler)
Notes:I also gave a five volt boost to the CPU steps (but I would do this last thing and only if you need it). Advice from Omnislyfer: I would like to tell you is about the overheat of you device. Our exynos processor it's great, but it has got some problems with temp at higher frequencies. You have overclocked a lot your device, and I think it's an insane thing to do. The main goal of voltage settings are to undervolt the device at stock frequencies, in order to reduce the overheating effects. You have done exactly the opposite: you have OC your device and also you have rises the voltages. So thrust me: from Ktweaker app, load default settings (so max CPU free will be 1700, and 533 for gpu), then subtract at least -50mv to all CPU voltages and -25 gpu voltages. You will not see particular performance loss (our n10 rly doesn't need Overclock) and hoverheat problems will disappear. Thanks Omni, I currently am testing this. Edit: Tested and this is great advice for this kernel. There is still heat issues for cpu intensive apps, but they are slower to manifest. Straight GPU functions (MX player -HW+) do not seem to need the undervolting and may be able to be ramped up. I did not test with any intensive games as it is hard to seperate the processors.
Video player (this is important for Nexus 10's):
MX Player with the custom codec properly installed (it occasionally (1/100 hours) drops the app when streaming video (twitch), but re-opens easily.
Comments to the community: I agree that people should try out everything. However, I recently had to re-root an old phone and run back through a lot of threads to find a stable set-up. This was to even see if I had rooted correctly. On the Nexus 10, the base Cyanogen 10 kernel kind of blows and my device was all sorts of buggy. The purpose of this is to help new modders and share some knowledge about stable set-ups with each other.
I've ran the gambit of custom ROMs through various versions of Android swearing by one over another but in the end I returned to rooted stock, Franco kernel, XPosed framework with Gravity box. Stability is my driving force and that just seems the most stable without loosing features such as the immersion UI.
Must have apps:
SuperSU
Viper4android
LMT
Nova launcher
Neutron
MX Player
For me other apps fall off in importance but those are the ones I'm taking to a deserted Island.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
And this is my config:
-Purity ROM - - > clean, stable and fast;
-Trinity Kernel - - > extreamly fast, but it leaks some feature (there is No Undervolt);
-ART runtime! - - > you have no idea of the advantages. Everything is faster and great battery life improvements.
About the apps :
-SuperSu;
-Nova launcher;
-Trinity Kernel Toolbox;
-MusicFX
Hi,
First I think you should give a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725128. Many people are sharing their configurations there, it may help you .
For me, I'm using CM11, no additional tweaks for kernel or anything else, just CM11 was good enough for me. I can play Dead Trigger 2 without frame drops, listen to FLAC audio in Poweramp without issues and watch heavy videos on MX Player.
Also boot time is ≈20 seconds, so I found this to be my favorite setup .

Does anyone plan to built a custom kernel for our s3 neo? Would be very nice to get a performance boost especially for gaming For example GTA San andreas, i know adreno 305 is incompatible with the game but maybe it would be more playable with an overclocked GPU? Thankyou for your hard work all of you developers for this device
i think it wouldn't make a big difference...
because the game itself is laggy on most android phones (lack of optimization, for example on an iphone much better optimized) , most other games on s3 neo perform very well so it's probably the fault of rockstar games. however that's my opinion
You are right with low Ende devices but in my friends devices with snapdragon 615 it runs 100% smooth all the time on highest settings everwhere, and Here it lags still with lowest settings. I know its incompatible, but maybe an overclock can make it run with more than 10-20 fps. I think GTA SA got more stable on most devices with its last updates. Unfortunately, even GTA 3 runs "only" good , not very good on highest settings, and GTA vice City even Lage sometimes on mid settings. Maybe you are right and it is Rockstars fault, but maybe an overclock can cause a slightly Vetter performance. Other games like MC5 and dungeon hunter run very smooth. Emulators like drastic and n64 Emulators also, and Ppsspp in most cases well. But it would be nice if wie could max out the performance. I know it will cause battery darin, but when gaming at home it doesnt matter. If i had the abilty to develop a kernel or anything for this device, i would. But i dont own a PC and dont have the knowledge
I searched for that bug and found that it's an Adreno 305 problem, for example the Moto G got a GPU update and made GTA SA run better. Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721136
We just need someone to adapt it for our phone.
Yes gta san andreas that work smooth for our device...it would be a dream
Oh this would be very very nice if someone is able to port this
I'm working on a custom kernel but i need time because i'm new in android dev, till now i've worked only on linux kernel

Thats very nice take yourself as mich time as you need if i could i would offer you to be a tester but if i get into a bootloop i have got a big problem because i dont own a PC so i would be in need of a friend's help. As i got this phone New i flashed an old s3 kernel so recovery die not work which was really stupid
There is a custom Kernel for CM12.1?
Custom Kernel
hello,
i have galaxy S3 neo GT-I9300I

Use Flashify. It has a kernel backup option.
Hi evey one.. (the first thing i'm sorry for bad language)
I have proplem with my device n900 when i play game need graphics (like modern compat 5) the device heat up and start lagges some time put my device font fan becouse the device like ? ... I tried more roms and no solve i flash LineageOS 14.1 and open to app to control cpu and gpu frequency and no solved and try to less than graphic of the same game and no solved but take some preform better.. Any solved please i ask if i flash good kernal the proplem solved or not?
Please help me if u have solve.. And thanks for all
What does your rom developer say ??

@JJEgan No answer.... The orginal developr do not answer
But another user respon to me this proplem not maked to me
This proplem with stock rom and cook roms.
My question proplem heat up my device is normal or not
Resource-intensive games push the CPU and GPU to their highest frequencies. The heating is quite inevitable in this case whatever the ROM or the kernel used.
However, to reduce the heating you can under-clock your CPU but expect a performance drop in-game.
I know games is push the CPU and GPU
But asking for the best kernal and rom
If take me 50% better this is i want it
I ask for anyone know the best?
My question proplem heat up my device is normal or not
You have been answered in post four .
The overheating is absolutely normal when running modern games on a +3 years old device, especially when this device uses the "famous" Exynos 5420 SoC.
You are free to try other kernels or roms .
There is no best rom or kernel .
You would be better sticking to a stock rom in my opinion .
Thanks for answer and help
The stock rom is the same problem with heat up my phone.. I tried more than 5 roms and all the same problem with heat up my device
Hi guys. Any suggestion what would be the best kernel for playing PUBG on my redmi note 7? I would like to play with stable 60 fps on smooth-extreme settings. Any tips and tricks? Thank you in advance!
Are you sure that's even possible? What's your background on computer science? Because I highly doubt that modded kernel gives you the improvements you're looking for.
There is only so much you can so by software. If the phone's video card isn't fast enough, the kernel can't rreally do anything about it.
Or is the video driver included in the kernel partition on android devices??
