So i just flashed a CM 12.1 nightly via TWRP .... All running fine and smooth but the audio seems really low compared to the CloudyG2 3.3 ROM i just came from, Is this normal? Also is there a way to increase the volume?
Thanks.
This is a known issue. Solution:

scroll down to the CM12.1 volume booster.
Wow thank you, that worked!
Well flashed the 75 version and its really loud, Down side is on full volume its a little distorted. Tried the 68 one but after boot had no volume at all, Flashed back to 75 and volume is back, Ive just manually turned all the volume down slightly, Still very loud and no distortion. Thanks again.

Hi I have the latest cm11 M8 build. My earpiece is a little quiet, esp when there's background noise around me (at six flags and barely could hear earpiece on the phone).
Is there a setting to boost earpiece volume? Or a root app?
Thanks guys!
BUMP.
Also I did a clean flash of M10 build, and still the highest volume of in-call volume is about 1/2 of what it should be (in my opinion, and no I'm not deaf, lol)
In my first phone (galaxy s) in the cm9 ROM there was a hidden menu that could boost the volume, does anyone know if it's in CM10 for the Sprint S4? Thanks
When you're on a call turn the volume all the way down then turn it back up. I had the same problem and that solved it.
Hi,
I purchased a used D802 International. The earpiece volume during phone calls is very low, even when I turn the volume to its maximum level. In a noisey environment, I have to keep the phone very close to my ear. I have seen volume mods but they seem to be for the internal speaker and headphones. In my case, the volume from the built-in earpiece is very low.
I flashed the volume mod via TWRP and the volume level is still very low.
Anyone have a possible solution? Is it possible the internal earpiece needs to be replaced?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks.
@audit13 if the problem occurs on both stock roms with everything clean wiped then I think that the earpiece might have to be replaced BUT
BUT.
The earspeaker is hidden above the screen behind those small holes. I suggest to try to clean those small holes as they might be filled with dirt which causes the soundwaves to not go through.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just finished cleaning the grill and the earspeaker volume is still low.
Do you think it will be different with a custom ROM?

if you're on stock based rom - you can try dorimanx' custom kernel... you have it for both KK (latest v10.8) and LP (v4.5 latest)
with the kernel - there comes a dorimanx settings app which has an option to increase the earpiece, headphones and speaker volumes...
before trying the kernel - just make sure you backup everything through TWRP - better safe than sorry...
I installed the latest Dorimanx LP kernel and the volume is better. I had to set the gain to 6 but it wounds fine without distorting. Thank you.

i'm glad you solved it :good:
I decided to flash a custom LP ROM just to see how it runs on my D802 and the earpiece volume will go a lot louder than it did on thee stock LG KK and LP ROM. I flashed the latest Cloudy and the max volume dropped again. This leads me to believe that the volume has something to do with the LG software.

if you're on cloudy rom, you must try "true stereo mod"... (you can find it in lg g2 forums)
it makes the earpiece play right channel and normal speaker plays left channel (or vice versa)
very good when watching a video, especially in landscape mode... sound is much better... (and you can tune the volumes in dorimanx settings app so both " speakers" play at equal levels - since the regular speaker is much louder than earpiece)
@60nine, thanks for the suggestion. I just loaded cloudy and played with it a bit. I'll try your suggestion when I get a chance, although I am the type of person that just uses their phone for text, surfing, email, and calls.
I put it away for now while I wait for my glass screen protector and TPU case from ebay. Shipping from China to Canada takes about 3 to 4 weeks!
The phone was used and had some scratches on the screen in one spot. The scratches are not noticeable unless you view it from an oblique angle or the image has a pure white background. I can't really complain given how little I paid for it
I installed cm 13 snapshot 20160418 recently on my d802 and I noticed the volume is really low (about half than what i had in the latest stock version)
Any way to fix this?

Hey Thanks,
but the problem is that the volume is really low before , for example in 50% i barley hear a thing.. there any solution for that?
I have the Sony MDR-XB950N1 and they sound awesome on an iphone and ipad. But they sound like crap on my android device. I've tried both NucleaROM 7.2.1 and Bliss 6.4, and the sound is too low on both ROMs. Kernel Auditor's sound setting doesn't help at all. I would like to stay away from Viper4Android. I don't need to enhance the sound. I need to be able to adjust the gain or amplify the sound.
I don't get android at all as this has happened to some Bluetooth headphone I've used in the past. But for a USD$300.00 pair otf over-the-ear headphones, this should not happen! It sounds like a pair of headphones you buy at your local 7-eleven. Maybe I should go back to the official firmware?
Interestingly.. i installed CM13 6.01 (Dec 2016) and BT volume is 100x better than the ROMs I mentioned above. This is without the kernel auditor sound mod. I DON'T GET IT.. But at least my earlobes, eardrums, and headphone are vibrating at max volume again. I still would like a solution for Nougat ROM.

You can have a look at here https://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/themes-apps/apps-to-gain-microphone-volume-t3450390 it's not only for microphone problems
Yea enabling volume level works great with my daily driver, NulceaROM 7.1.x. Thanks for the heads up! Its on par with CM13 and iDevices. I'm not convinced that this issue only happens to our device. I used to have a MI phone and BT volume with nougat was abysmal also.
Hi there,
I did a fresh install of the latest Lineage 16 on my one plus 2. Everything's fine besides the call volume is way too loud and putting volume up and down has no effect at all. I've tried setting RX1-8 Digital Volume in /vendor/etc/mixer_path.xml from 84 to but this also had no effect. I wonder since I never read that the adjusting the volume doesn't work at all. On Lineage 15.1 everything was fine.
Does anybody have an idea?
