LG G2 D802 [International] NO Baseband/IMEI - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Unrooted phone fell in the water and failed to power on.
I send it to a lab (not an LG lab). Laboratory cleaned of corrosion but didn't change any part.
The phone works now, but without Baseband and IMEI.
I tried to root/flash (KDZ and TOT)/erase (data/dalvik etc) but nothing works. Obviously I don't have a backup since the phone was unrooted.
Tried with Qualcomm NV tool and EFS professional, but I'm unable to change IMEI (I know it).
Please advise.
I'm attaching some details about the file system and the mounts:

/sdcard read only filesystem?

hey everyone,
i reflashed the stock 5.1.1 image today, but after booting (in recovery it works just fine) my /sdcard is read-only:
Code:

i tried the following:
Code:
adb root
adb remount

nothing did the trick, even tried to fix permissions via twrp.
can anyone help me get this solved please without a fw reflash?

Dumping stock ROM and lost in the process.

Hello, everyone.
Since the ROM version on my OPT is not available for download (I got a phone with Oxygen 2.0.3), I decided to make a flashable image. This is the first time I do this, and I am kind of lost.
From this guide, I gathered that I need to find boot, kernel, system and misc partitions. Here are the partitions on OPT:
Code:
ls -al /dev/block/platform/f9824900.sdhci/by-name
lrwxrwxrwx root root 1970-01-24 09:32 DDR -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p6

lrwxrwxrwx root root 1970-01-24 09:32 tzbak -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p30
lrwxrwxrwx root root 1970-01-24 09:32 userdata -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p43
I see boot, system, and misc, but no kernel (there is kernel in the file system, though, I imagine it could be part of system), and I also see a bunch of strange names and a bunch of important-looking names.
Something tells me that Driver, DDR, Logo are somehow important and then there are modem and stuff, and tz looks important enough to back it up. Does anyone know what this all means? I saw links to stock Oxygen ROMs, so I imagine someone knows how to dump it.
Hey,
It's cool that you are trying to do this. Maybe try & send this guy a dm: Naman Bhalla
He's posted several other OxygenOS images, so I'm positive he can guide you in the process.
One interesting thing I noticed:
One OPT lets me connect ADB while it's in recovery rom. That is also automatically root if you do adb shell.
Another OPT does not let me connect with ADB at all. It also does not let me pick a proper ADB driver and insits on using a nexus driver instead. Very strange.

Repartitioning mmcblk0 (Parted)

Hey there people.. As the title suggests, i have a question regarding a hidden partition in mmcblk0.. I found that while the phone has a system and userdata partition that i can partition to gain size for data, they are not consecutive, there is a hidden partition roughly 210mb in between them... Any suggestions on how to treat the hidden partition when partitioning? What does it contain?
I don't have the same device as my partition layout is different, so I am not much help...
What's the name of the partition?
Why not just dd a copy of it and look inside?
I havent had any luck with dd to img or zip.. Just an empty vroken file at of=/.. I also tried adb terminal just incase it was being used while i ran dd.. Still nothing... Im looking for its purpose and files ofc...

So it seems hidden is block 26 between system and data.
This is other wise known as preload. It contains nothing but crap that samsung want to force on to the device such as apk's etc. It's totally not needed as it can be wiped with no I'll effect.

Are you resizing or attempting to delete?
It may not be possible to delete a partition as the partition structure may be set in the bootloader.
However it should be possible to resize.
Modifying the PIT should accomplish this if done correctly.
Failing that using a tool such as FDISK from a busybox shell. Partitions would need to be unmounted, so doing it from recovery would be required.

rm xx doesn't work on partitions at all.
Trying to resize with parted doesn't hapens due to ext4 format and i have yet to double check fdisk! The sdited pit wont flash with oding either....

I'm pretty sure I modified a PIT file a long time ago as an experiment and it was fine.
However I'm not sure of the details of how I accomplished it, I'm sure I used a version of PIT magic.
I think I modified the size of the cache partition and then created a resized cache image and flashed that along with the PIT and repartition option.
The block sizes also have to be consecutive in the PIT.
Things may have changed in newer firmware and the partitions may simply be locked in size and protected.
TBH it's all not worth it for what you gain and the hassle of not only creating it, but the issues it causes afterwards.
Just for info TWRP also contains a RESIZE binary. This can be accessed from the GUI, but it's use is limited to expanding unused parts of a partition.
It may be possible to resize a partition using it from the TWRP command line. I think it's called resize2fs.
EDIT:
It seems after reading the documentation below resize2fs is limited to resizing the file system only. Have a read below it explains it:
https://linux.die.net/man/8/resize2fs
I believe it is somehow locked, fdisk fails to remove or resize also...I will look into pit files a bit longer and see if I can make it work!thank you for your time and help ?️

Why do you want to repartition it? If you intend to extend the data partition this is actually a bad thing to do.
For what you'll gain it's not worth it and can cause a number of issues.

MCU dump to image file

Hello, I was trying to dump my MCU partition into img file. That way I could try to reflash it back within the update mcu settings on device. My goal was to flash it with the dmcu.ext file that controls the resolution. I read I am supposed to flash MCU with text file dmcu.ext "screen:1" in the root of where the mcu image is. When I flash the entire image it does not seem to work, thought it could be because firmware is in one large bin file that contains all of the images like system and boot. I dumped the tee1 and tee2 to image file, would that be mcu? My resolution is showing 1024x600, instead of 800x480.
no matter what mcu img I attempt to update, MCU update says failed to update file. I was reading about mismatch, but don't see that error.
If I am not on the right track here, please correct me.
