Announced herehttp://androidcommunity.com/motorola-schedules-a-press-event-on-february-25-at-mwc-2014-20140205/ I'm just hoping it's the successor for the Moto x. What do you guys think? It coincides with the announcement of the new galaxy.

Highly doubt a successor so early but won't complain if they do. Higher res and snapdragon 800 with bigger battery won't hurt.

My guess is something in the "wearables" department... smart watch? Pendant? Eye wear?
Sent from my XT1053 using Tapatalk 2
It could be
A) An explanation of the direction Motorola will be going with their brand [Very likely]
or
B) Based on the image with the towels, they will announce patterns as a new way to customize your Moto X. Did you want a floral pattern for your back cover? Well.....come Feb 25, YOU CAN! (Not very likely......or maybe :silly
Well, they just got bought by Lenovo... it's normal a press conference to tell public the company perspectives...
hope they didnt change too much on Moto x lines
i mean that will always have fast update, motorola logo, exclusive apps and awesome design
A new watch would be nice. Still waiting for someone to release the must have watch.
I'd rather they announce further support for the Moto X and introduce new features. Some reassurance the design philosophies of the Moto X won't be abandoned for rejoining the spec wars. The guy above me who suggested a higher resolution should be ashamed of himself.

Yes I suspect its this as well.
The deal probably isn't completely finalized yet; i mean this just happened like a week ago. How did they already figure what they gonna do with Motorola. I am not a business person but it just seems kinda too early for that kind of event. My guess would be that they ll talk little bit about lenovo and then announce some new product. Hopefully Moto x 2

Most companies know what they intend to do with an acquisition long before it's final. I agree that it will be a meeting discussing the direction of the company. However it might also be used to unveil future products

I'd kill if it was the new moto x or that phablet that was rumored earlier. I've got a sprint and Verizon upgrade to burn and I'm waiting for something worth it!

I hope it's not the next generation moto x. I just ordered mine yesterday and always like to have the latest version of my hardware. That being said I highly doubt it's a next gen phone. I agree with the above - it's probably to discuss the direction of the company.

I'm searching for many forum and blog official or non official but no one confirm for sure moto g getting 4.4.4 update. But only officially announced update of 4.4.3. Is Google forgetting this device for ever? if this happen than it is bad because when we purchased it, the only reason for it is a Google company.
Okay, if Google run away, I'm going for cm11 for sure. I love to be updated.

Hrazib, Don't worry at all, i think Moto G and also other motorola phones will continue to get the major updates. No need to panic Well you know i am very impatient so i am already on 4.4.4 But don't worry the official update will come soon!

Considering that google will most likely unveil 4.5 in two days at their I/O conference - we might just jump ship straight to 4.5, skipping 4.4.4.
guess we'll find out soon enough
Calm freakin' down. We have 4.4.3!!!

We do not need a 4.4.4 update....
Most OEM's would skip this update and jump to the 4.5 Lollipop
Although I wouldn't be surprised if Motorola releases it on a later date

4.4.4 is a serious security update. Motorola is certainly pushing the update through the channels now. It is less than 3mb on the Nexus devices so it is a very small update. It has only been out a few days. Motorola had lots of time to prepare for 4.4.3. That is why it was pushed so quick.
Use more exclamation marks please. Also make a new discussion thread every time you get mad too.
Go scrub your lolindian or lolbr with CM11 and don't bother us with useless and meaningless threads.

Hey guys. I am rooted and currently running the 6.0.1 Asia release image. Just wondering if anyone knows why there's been such a delay in getting the OTA for the US variant? I've really enjoyed using the Moto X and with the Moto Credit i opened it would have been easy for me to justify upgrading to the 2016 version when it is announced. But being as OCD as i am about timely OS updates, going back to the nexus line is looking like a better option as the days go by. I get that 6.0.1 is just an incremental update, but that makes me wonder even more why it hasn't been rolled out. I'm hoping that this just means we'll receive Android N as quickly as possible, but i wont hold my breath. Thoughts?

Moto X Pure edition says goodbye - RIP. The 3rd paragraph in this article reads: "well, according to renowned leak artists Evan Blas's, the Moto X line up is no more. His tweet in the matter simply read "goodbye, moto X. details tomorrow. Which could mean a lot of things, but it's the goodbye part that is the most scary.
I hope they still plan on supporting this phone, not going to hold my breath.

Just because they're discontinuing one line and starting another is no reason to stop updating the previous line. The device is not even one year old. It'd be a terrible (and BS) decision to just drop support for it like it never happened. Especially with them discounting the device so much lately, they'd have a lot of new pissed off users on their hands.
Thinking on it, I honestly think the release of 6.0.1 to a limited number of handsets may specifically be targeted to see what problems will arise. Not the first time a manufacturer has done this. But informing customers would be a good move when doing this.

Wow, Moto does it once, while Samsung has changed theirs 7 times (first was the 1, then 2 then 3 ...... now 7!!!) Must be a VERY slow news day, and he needed something to post.
The life of a report must be VERY hard.
I know Android 7.0 Nougat just came out, but I'm not really familiar with how quickly Motorola and Lenovo update their devices. I know Verizon slows things down quite a bit, but when do you guys think we'll see N come to the Z Force?

When Motorola was owned by Google...the Droid phones were some of the quickest to receive updates, VZW was not a problem at all...
Since Lenovo has taken over, updates have come at a rate that would make a snail look like an Olympic sprinter...

The turbo 2 took forever. So long that I sold it and picked up a 6p. So I don't think it would be any worse under Lenovo. Took months for the Turbo 2 to get it so if we get it in a few months that's fine. I'm just glad the z rubs as good as it does.

7 days should of not really mattered. As the other moto's got 6.0 before it. Before the release google should of been working on the update.
No excuse for google. They have been dropping the ball. 7.0 and no new Nexus yet. Then the word that the LG V20 will be the first with 7.0. They are dropping the ball

The fact that it is nearly the end of August and we are still on the May security update should give some indication that an Android 7.0 is not forthcoming in the very near future.

I think it will get 7.0 by the end of the year. It got 6.0 pretty fast, and is still pretty much the flagship of Motorola. People just lost hope because of the ignored 6.0.1 update. I'm hoping to switch back to a Nexus anyway so I don't have to worry about updates anymore.

But is it still a flagship with the new Moto Z's coming out? Way things have gone with Lenovo I'd not put money on it BUT never say never.
Well, if they abandon any real support for this phone in one year, I won't be coming back to Lenovo/Motorola. I'll just have to decide if expandable memory is still a deal maker/breaker with the next gen and go Nexus or something else.

Agreed!
Android 7 will be there!!!
With X-Style there aren't any technical/hardware issue or even a minor reason for not supporting the Android 7. So with this the liability of providing or not providing Android 7 will be with Motorola (Lenovo). Providing with Latest Android version being a USP of Moto phones, there is very chance that they will not risk reputation with this phone by excluding the update.
In-case this is not done for some reason then my steps would be:
1) Root and install Android 7 rom.
2) Buy a new Nexus phone.
3) Collect Invoice of all my Moto phone (Namely: Moto G (8gb), Moto G (16gb), Moto E (4gb), Moto G3, Moto G Turbo, Moto X Style).
4) Submit the collected Invoice plus the nexus invoice to Motorola with update as why they lost a loyal customer.
*Infact I was planing this for the delayed patch, and made my disappointment by tweeting the same to motorola. Were they assured me of early notification of update.*
[rant] motorola sucks/how to kill a perfectly good device
Motorola/Lenovo service has been horrible both in replacing defective hardware and with software updates even though they committed to timely release! They will probably at some point release Nougat on this device but really how long will it take (see where we are with MM updates!!) ? And as far as custom roms are concerned we're seeing so little developper activity for this device that I think everyone has already moved on! This was my first non-Nexus device in a long while and I'm not eager to duplicate the experience. It's really too bad as I really liked the Moto X pure. :crying:
Ffs these threads need to stop. Yes the Moto x pure 2015 will get 7. IT WILL TAKE TIME release of n is rolling out give it a few months
