I have tried to compile all useful guides/information available for our Note across the Note section.
You will find everything from official firmware update to custom firmware flashing.
Again, none of this is my work, I have just compiled it together for easy access.

Hi Team,
I on a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT i9400 running on (Hassan Version V6.0) 4.4.2 .
I installed a custom ROM (Hassan Version V6.0) and i a few issue and i am not sure how to fix this.
1) The mute switch when on call is missing "Should i try installing a new customer ROM for it or can i fix it ?"
2) My battery life is really bad on the device "Not even a hour i understand the team worked hard for developing the ROM, but it would really nice if someone comes up with a fix for it"
3) I also want to know what are the different types of ROM i read on some forum there different types of ROM i.e, Milestone, Stable etc. "Can i also know the their spec too so it would be easier for me to download the best one i want/like"
4) if i on a customer ROM 4.4.2/4.4.3 without Gapps. Should i install Gapps 4.4.2/4.4.3 on it or is it really not important.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Tarun.
@Tarun.B
1) try another ROM if it's that important to you
2) it depends on how you use it and what processes are running in the background : try greenify
3)
a) I refer you to the CM teams about page http://www.cyanogenmod.org/about
b)what do you mean by spec? and if you're talking about the features please Read the details of the ROM yourself
(there are important details about installation ... bugs .....etc)
4)it depends on the ROM if it's a stock TW ROM then you really don't need to flash a seperate Gapps package (unless stated) as they come packaged with the ROM or if on AOSP(PA,CM,AOKP) most of the time you need to download a seperate gapps package I.E. Play Store,Maps.... etc (basically if you like to install applications and/or like to use your android phone then yes it is necessary)
note: snapshots have replaced Stable and RC and M builds so snapshots and nightly builds are what you should look for...... :good:
P.S. if I helped you hit the :good: button on the bottom left

@nick123ablxx32,
Thank you for you reply.
1) try another ROM if it's that important to you---- I am actually working in company, too many Conference calls which would really need a mute switch for me.
2) it depends on how you use it and what processes are running in the background : try greenify ----------------(I will try this thnx )
3.b) what do you mean by spec?-------------- i am sorry if you got me wrong i meant if the ROM say Stable/Nite___ what does that mean so that i learn about ROMs
4) Arrow ROM v13.0.0 | Fast | Stable | Smooth | Best Battery Life | Custom Settings will this be compatible for my device-- If you don't mind can you give me download link for V13.0.0 because i am really not sure were the download link is on the page.

Hi,
I'll get that you typed wrong in the OP and your device isn't i9400 but i9500 .
1 - Well then, the best would be check for other ROM indeed, I never used it so I don't really know any that have this feature.
2 - Another thing you should try doing is turning off sync, 3G/WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, sensors (eye tracking, etc) when possible, and if you're on a Touchwiz based ROM, enable power saving mode. Don't forget to also charge your device correctly, using the factory charger and always when possible full charging it!
3 - Stable: The ROM shows no bugs at all, and is usable as daily driver without any issues.
Release Candidate (RC): The ROM is a possible stable version.
Snapshot: This usually built once every month and is more stable than Nightly. Has latest features.
Nightlies: Are the first ROMs to have the features, but may be unstable and might lead to a brick.
In stability order:
Stable >= RC > Snapshot > Nightly.
Recently Snapshots are considered the most updated and also stable, due to others almost not being released anymore. So if you want the best I'd recommend a Snapshot.
4 - The download links are in the second post. Make sure you read the ENTIRE OP!!! (Here's it anyway: http://sh.st/eHFAb)

Edit :
+ => very fast , smooth and light (something like 10 apps and no gapps) / cool bootanim and fonts / close to the slimroms / free ram and omniswitch
- => miss some tweaks and translations (of course) / ad blocking / apn (data) / 2 or 3 more little things
Good work ! for a first release , it's very impressive and interresting !
Keeping an eye on it !

I don't know about a thread in development yet since i don't have the device.
Going to see after 6.2 is released.
p.s. Could you give @Wim N a hand, this is the first time he flashed a rom on his device, and the baseband seems to have gone missing.
Maybe something is wrong in the rooting/recovery....

Hi,
I installed the rom and it works fine. But what can I do to get a faster GPS Fix. I navigate a lot with this rom and some times it takes some minutes to get a GPS Fix. Is this a known bug, so I have to wait for a bug fix ?

I try the new build and everything worked well so far but I don't see a big difference to aosp / cm12 builds. Where do you see the advantage / special feature in the ROM? I just test it for a half day so maybe I miss something and I bet this dev crew has reason to do this ROM. Please give us more details.

Screenshot would be good for sure to attract more people. Also differences to cm12.1 and aosp. For now I can say it was smooth and stable which is much more then nothing

New build Metallium
Hello new build is up: see op download link to basketbuild or normal way: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347817647
Cheers
Here comes the feedback:
- Autorotation doesnt work. Maybe kernel related.
- Some lag and instability but this could very (most definitely) well be the bidji kernel. (Havent tested on stock kernel)
- Everything else works fine.
- Betterylife is fine, nothing crazy.
- Botton backlight works
Will test tomorrow with stock kernel a few minutes to confirm sone issues maybe. But I like the battery life of bidji kernel too much to not use it.
What does this rom do different compared to other cm like roms? I couldnt really find any major pros or cons. Just very cm like but not from cm I guess. I really hate that they have edited the default launcher with their own ugly app drawer icon and removed the launcher options. Luckily we have an appstore with other launchers. I will change rom to DU again probably because of the auto rotate (but button backlight doesnt work there if i recall correctly).
Still really loving all your builds to test compare and tinker with. And the new bidji kernel makes the tinkering and fiddling even more interesting . Hope this feedback helps.

Ik dank je voor uw feedback!
Autorotation: well still a mistery only DU is working, kernel is the same, so frameworks must be the culprit.
For the rest, I just jump into this project cause I found it interesting and different from others but i'm slowly think I was wrong.
Anyway, yes it not cm but device trees are so, bugs will remain mainly the same .
To be honest, not sure I'll keep on long time with this one except if users are happy
At least om my AFH I have some 30 downloads, in their basketbuild, 0...
Een prettige end of weekend!

(I lolled a bit because of you typing Dutch )
Tested again on stock kernel, same issues as before with auto rotate. Something to add why this is different compared to other roms: it is not so much in options but everything that is there is done well. Like all icons and stuff are all good and done and there are no wierd looking menus. So it is a very slick experience IMHO (except the boot logo ugh).
Cheers
Hello Guys,
With Metallium team members, we decided to make those builds "unofficials". This won't change anything for you, builds with remain the same with same quality and improve progressively.
This is a good team and i'm proud to build for them, last post from my dutch mate proves it.
Reasons why this change: i prefer to keep my liberty, to build myself, to post my builds where i used to post it, and so on. Furthermore, i'm official member of crDroid team and it takes me lot of time, and i want to keep the same quality for them too.
So expect new Metallium build at least weekly.
I wish you a nice evening.
Cheers,
Any signs of lvm support on the ROM?

Thanks mate, appreciated, i will try a build today, hope you'll test it, don't worry i'll test it first
Cheers
The TWRP works fine and can unify the storage. The CM build posted on the oppo forums seems to work no worse than any other CM-derived rom. An LVM aware build of Dirty Unicorns would be awesome. I'm happy to test things because my Find 5 isn't my primary device anymore so I don't rely on it.

I am already running a CM version having LVM and its good apart from Auto rotate which seems to be a bug in CM12.
But another ROM with proper support would be awesome and feel free to get back to me to test the same
P.S: enabling selinux enforce by default seems to be a but flaky

Unfortunately, CM12 has the autorotate issue in all my builds except DU. So what i propose is, first make a test on metallium to see if LVM works then try to adapt to DU, new DU version should come within one day or two.
Thanks for your support.
Cheers
