My Verizon GS7 on another carrier (GSM) won't dial numbers starting with * and can't reach the carrier's voicemail because I can't change voicemail number from *86 to any other. Any * number dialing results an error message "Connection problem or invalid MMI code."
Anyone knows how to fix that Verizon leftover?
This is disabled on the firmware level for the Verizon variant. One thing you can do is flash the U firmware which is not carrier specific. You can download it from updato.com or sammobile I believe.
Edit: Forgot to mention you can flash the carrier specific firmware for the carrier you are using if you want to also. Just check the bootloader version.

I've got another advise: to use + instead of *, and it works.

-never got root on stock because I went straight to Nougat

-couldn't get LTE and learned that I needed to flash a N firmware (which is the same as a N radio from what I understand?)

-still couldn't get LTE to work
flashed up to my current set up and still can't get LTE to work.

I dont have a preference if I go back to Nougat or stay on MM (get to use xposed) I just want LTE to work.

Strange, i have exact the same setup as you right now. M modem (or radio or baseband, it's the same) and as rom RR M. I have no problem at all.

What are your settings of you are on Verizon? If not where could I find them? I have 2 options for APNs which I am assuming is for the dual sim g4+. Which one would I pick for the single sim? Will it choose the APN I want every time?

I am outside US mate, so i can't tell you that but maybe you can call Verizon and ask them if the issue is on there side? Did LTE work in stock 7.0 that you flashed? Are both your sims LTE? Pick the one which is In slot 1 as the slot 1 sim will support LTE. Have you checked your preferred sim for data connection? What is your preferred network settings?? Have you manually tried registering on your network in slot 1?

I compared my APN settings on my LG G2 and they are the same as in the G4+. Although I am unable to edit my settings in the G4+ like I am in the G2. Also, my G4+ only has one Sim slot but two APN options in settings.

I went to Verizon to activate a new sim card with no luck. Still no LTE. I've tried different radios, different ROMs with no success.
What should I do at this point?
How do I completely start over from the way I got it?

Have you tried the hidden menu code: *#*#4636#*#* Open the dialer and enter that code, you will get a hidden menu called "Phone info". About half way down there is a drop down menu, change that setting to LTE only. See if your LTE works then. If it does, change it to LTE/CDMA auto (PRL) (This is assuming you are on Verizon or Sprint or another CDMA MVNO)
If your phone has only one sim slot it should be talking about settings for 2 sim. In the flashable zip thread you will find MPJ24.139-64. Afaik that is a US build only. Also the radio is different it seems (athene_MPJ24.139-64_radio_M8952_70009.08.03.45R+FSG-8952-03.68.zip) Maybe you can try the non-Amazon version? You said you are not in the US but it's a US model, right?

Thanks guys I figured it out(but not really). I started over from the beginning and redownloaded everything and tried again and it took this time. Not sure what I did differently but I have LTE now.
However I am now having a problem with accessing Dialer/calls/settings when trying to set up Google voice. Dialer app crashes and sim reboots. Ugh...
I'm in US with US phone on Verizon and one sim card slot.
I am in the US, mine is the xt1644, is model. The OP is having problems with LTE. I was having problems with LTE - CDMA.
Are you sure the radio you're referring to is a US radio?

I am also having that problem with call settings. You just have to set up call forwarding no answer to go to your Google voice number. I know also the Lineage and or the latest jp25 radio thinks I have two sims.

Google voice is all set up as I've used it for years. I simply cannot get into the settings to change it over from provider to Google voice. Frustrating...
Not sure who your provider is, I think you said you're cdma. I think all cdma provider's use *71{plus your 10 digit google voice phone number} to forward voicemail to google voice.
Here is a link to Verizon's instructions.
I have never been able to set up google voicemail through call settings on any phone on verizon anyway, it just gives you a link to the instructions.
By setting it up with the above method, it will automatically forward all busy-missed calls to your Gvoice number. It will never go to voicemail in the first place.

I do can tell you that EU went from .63 M to Nougat and that there never was a .64 here so i started asking people. From what they told .64 (and .64 amazon) are US builds. Still i cannot find any official info, sorry.

i have a p9 lite L21. I bought it with a simlock i think because the bootanimation was the logo from my provider.
I flashed a newer firmware (emui 5) and then the "simlock" with the bootanimation was away. And my sim also works perfectly.
But then i flashed some other Roms like lineage, cm13, aosp.. But then my simcard isnt working anymore. Always no service.
Now i'am on lineage 14.1 (7.1.2) and i still have this Problem that my sim isnt working. I can answer calls and receive sms but i cant call someone or activate mobile data. Does anybody have/had the Problem ?

So I got my Airtel number ported to a Jio sim card. Put it on sim slot 1. I'm getting to use data services but cannot seem to activate volte/enhanced 4g mode to make calls at all. The option isn't even visible in the mobile networks menu.
I also checked my sim info and it says 'volte provisioned' but there's volte option in the settings.
Since I'm not able to activate volte, each time I try to call from the Jio sim, it fails.
Also, I'm running the stock debloated ROM from Sandy and I'm rooted.
I've used V1 of this ROM before and volte was working fine. I just wasn't rooted at the time. Can root be a problem? Please help guys.

I have an unlocked S10+, there is no video calling in the stock phone dialer like there is for the carrier version of the phone. Is there a setting I need to change to enable this? Or can someone with the T-mobile s10+ upload a stock copy of the phone dialer apk from their device?

The carrier version has additional software for video calling since each carrier implements it slightly differently. Since your phone is factory unlocked, you will most likely be locked out of that feature. You can try flashing the carrier version firmware to your phone but I doubt it will add that feature. I think it's tide to the phones IMEI.
