Did you just ask whether to switch to G3 from N9005?

Yep that's what I did lol.... I probably had my G3 for 3 months and got bored..... So I got note 3 even though it was slightly 'older'.
G3's advantages over note 3 was the camera and 4k screen. but devices always overheat and too slow.

i thinks my note 3 won't receive upgrade to Marshmallow.:crying:

Based on Samsung's past experience, there wont be 6.0 for Note 3 / S4.

I wouldn't change a working Note 3 for a G3, they are fairly similar but the Note has bigger screen and better battery life the only downside imo is the resolution. The hardware doesn't really offer a meaningful difference.

I wish they release 4.2.2 for us also because I don't think they would release 5 before December. Because they would bloat it by q4 and note 3 would be released by then. So we'll get this in probably December or January.

yeah.... and this will kill whatever little battery life the limping Note2 has now

Not surprise given the specs of Note 2, it will last a long while. Skeptical S3 would have the power to run 5.0 smoothly though.

Lol. As far as Android phones the Note 2 has one of the best, perhaps even the best battery life.

Note 2 will it's still the reigning king. S4 is just octa and 1080p so nothing super serious because note 2 is super fast and I can't really differentiate between iPhone and note 2 screen.

What does that mean? Are you having battery life problems? Limping Note 2? Maybe something got lost in translation here cause this statement makes no since...
With 4.1.2 ubdll3 I can have 10+ hours of screen on (no game, no 3g only wifi) and I don't think I will move to another version if I can't have something comparable in term of battery life.

Google wont even announce android 5 until May, so MAYBE our Note 2's will get it by the end of summer... major updates like this don't come quick on non-nexus devices.

Remember this is an pre-list. (Samsung could still change devices!)
Do not ask for other devices, if we know more we will tell you.
* List is not complete yet!
reading that made me sad for bit hope they don't remove note 2
Th3KiNG - that doesnt mean Note 2 ill be wiped from the list...it means more devices will get Android 5...

TouchWiz 5.0

A very nice article about TouchWiz 5.0 Lollipop on Note 3.

Given the fact that Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 LTE has similar specs to Galaxy Note 3 N9005 LTE (the same SoC) the Lollipop update for our device may not be too far and it would be a great update.

Doesn't really look much different than current touch wiz or touch wiz on the note 4. Hopefully when it gets to our pro 12.2 it isn't a lag fest.
So long after lollipop 5.0 release and until now nothing official from Samsung about note pro update...
What a shame!
Considering Samsung rarely updates their tablets, I'm not at all surprised that we haven't heard anything.
Due to the numerous issues with Lollipop, that's probably a good thing. 5.0.1 is already officially out, so Samsung may very well be skipping 5.0 for not-yet-updated devices.
The Note 4 is going directly to 5.0.1 (possibly 5.0.2), with the Note 3 N9005 suspected to go that route as well.
The Note 3 N9005/N900 with identical hardware to the P905/P900 doesn't have Lollipop. Until that does, we won't be seeing it on our tablets.

Am eager to see LP roll out for our tablets.. however, per what we know about Samsung.. I don't have pretty sure about how fast it gonna happen.. but hopefully, in some point, it gonna happen.

Actually, there is a "forecast" where our P905 gonna reach an update to LP. Probably after LP goes out for Note 3, 4, S 4 and 5 completely. I had read somewhere something about this.

[Q] Note 3 marshmallow update?

is there any chances to get marshmallow update for Note 3 (Snapdragon)
No one knows. But let the Note 5 selling start, and within a month of that Samsung will announce whether to update our device or not, that is if Note 5 doesn't sell well they will be angry (like anyone cares about that after releasing a phone like Note 5) and will say no, no Marshmallow for Note 3. But if Note 5 sells well then they will give us the update. I am positive about the update though.
Probably we may get an unofficial version.

The latest galaxy range of the s6 and the note 5 are the 'disappointment devices' .... I recon peoplewont buy them because of the important features they took out like Micro Sd slot...removable battery and the phone being made from pure glass and metal theyr basing it more on iphones... COMON SAMSUNG FIX UP.
When we see the Samsung's support's histroy there are no device that it support more than 24 month

I want to buy a note 3 now because it is a great device, screen size and resolution, battery life, etc... But I want to know if CM or and other custom rom will be available for marshmallow. The hardware should be able to handle it, right?
More likely there won't be an official Marshmellow update, because Note 3 is already old, despite the hardware being more than enough to handle it. It's not a hardware limitation but rather Samsung pulling to plug, plus, by now if you are carrier locked, no carrier will push an update for a phone which is over 24 months old.
Probably we will see a Marshmellow update, but it'll be unofficial. If you ask me, that's more than enough.
right! who likes touchwiz? hehe
Bump!
I'm just wondering, since the marshmallow leak for the Note 5.... if anyone is working on it. I've combed the forums but can't find any chatter.

I think it will be shown5
unofficial ported rom by developers
I got tired of waiting for my note 3 to get updated, that's why I started flashing ROM's.
Currently using temaseks Rom (CM 13) and loving it. Will never use Samsungs Touch wiz ever again.
Note 3 abandoned. I paid 800 for this. At least Microsoft will push updates till the pc crashes. Last Samsung cell phone I'll ever purchase.

Well goodluck with your purchase. I have replaced 7 note 4s.....2 snapdragon n 5 exynos.....all had some kind of fault....common problem #1 camera focus issues....weak gps.....bluetooth audio skipping....
No problem here on camera, gps, and bluetooth audio. Best phone compared to my previous phones S1, S3, and Note 2.

Advice please- Is the Note 4 still worth buying now at end of 2016?

Hi there
I am currently on a Galaxy S4 running a stable version of Nougat - CM14, however I am looking to upgrade to a phone that has much custom ROM support- especially CyanogenMod.
Because I will only get a phone that has CyanogenMod support, I assume the Exynos variant will not be viable. Will the Note 4 have official CM14 support? When did the Note 4 receive CM13?
I am looking to buy a phone around £300 and the screen has to be at least 5.7inches. Would the Note 4 still be a good option now?
Or should I go with another phone?
All advice is welcomed... Thanks

Well it's a very hard choice i feel you.. note 4 is a great phone with a v.good development support but for me i am a bit scared for loosing my warranty knox is 0x0. lots of people are facing emmc failure "means" you phone will lag, freeze till the motherboard dies. So no one knows what is causing this problem. So my recommendation for you is to go for another phone manufacturer.. cheers

The Nexus 6p is a great phone however I don't think I am able to get it in the UK for under £300.
I am also a little reluctant to get a phone without Wireless Charging...
Anyway thanks for the suggestion, do you have other suggestions as well?

Buy one plus 3 its an amazing device with 6gb ram and latest snapdragon 820 octa core processor and wide range of custom roms and yes one+3 users allready enjoying cm14 nougat roms with everything working. And of course its under 300$ off contract.

Has anyone been able to confirm if the N910C (Exynos) is affected by the emmc failure? From what I have read it always seems to be Snapdragon versions that are hit by it.

I have N910C (Exynos) since 2014 and flash custom roms frequently and have no issue with it
I have had a Snapdragon N910F from Launch Week, haven't had a single problem.
The eMMC failure seems to affect mostly Note4s bought in 2015, from what I have seen.

Very likely. As much as I thoroughly enjoy mine, you may be better off with something newer.
Maybe look at a used Nexus 6? Otherwise LG G4 and LG V10 may be your best bet.

It seems it is really difficult to find a well rounded phone of this price-£300.
Not many phones have Amoled Screens at 5.7inch+....
Some won't have software updates but that's fine as long as there is strong developer support..

On Amazon the cheapest I've seen is about £418 and eBay the cheapest seen was about the same.
Maybe I will wait until Black Friday for some deals on some phones such as the OnePlus 3.
I will comment back when I get a new phone, if I do.
Thinking about it I might get the XA Ultra: 6inch edge to edge screen. No custom ROM support though...

Here's another vote for the Note 4. As far as features go, it's pretty loaded. AFAIK it's the only phone with QHD, IR blaster, expandable storage, 5.5+ inches. Granted its finger print sensor is pretty useless.
Also, I haven't had the problems mentioned above in this thread.
No no, simply NO. Unless you are getting it for like half price of a new OnePlus 3, absolutely not.
