Why are we forgotten about and don't have access to kernel source yet?
I think it may benefit our devs who are bringing CM 12 to our device. I'm using it as a daily now and its great but I know the GPS bug could be a deal breaker for some people.
So how is it best we proceed with requesting it? Ideas?
Do we spam their twitter accounts? Maybe not spam as such but flood with requests so we are heard.
Is there an email to request?
I can't find anything on Motorola dev website.
Their github has Peregrine, Clark, Osprey and Victara sources for 5.1.1... Why are we made to wait?
Peregrine = G 4G
Clark = Style
Osprey = G 2015
Victara = X 2014

Yup we have to write to them... Everyone here shud write a mail to them

It's entirely possible that they're working on M and consider that a priority. I'd rather they did that and give us M kernel source quickly.
M sources will take a long time, lollipop source they will have it already they should have released it by now. When nexus releases within few days they will release all their sources. But moto i never expected this coz of which development is dam slow and ppl r working more for providing us stable custom rom/kernel.

According to the blog, it is stated that these upgrades are not set in stone yet, and they may change the list of devices that will get the upgrade.
We can still hope.

Since the internals of the Moto G 2014 is very similar to the Moto G 2013, I am hoping that they might roll out 6.0 to our devices also.
Fingers crossed.
I think I'll just wait for the AOSP build from Alberto97.
Same here Buddy @moralesnery
The good news is that Google released the Nexus Android 6.0 images. The bad is that the AOSP isn't updated

some days will pass before wee see the release of the 6.0 code to AOSP.
Bad news, Motorola support page says this about the Moto G (2013)
MOTO G
This device will remain on Android 5.1 (Lollipop)
Do you have the latest Motorola software? Find out.
Shock horror, 2 year old hardware no longer getting updated... Long live custom ROMs.
Having owned a Desire HD and a Sensation which got only one major version upgrade, I'd say the 2013 G had a great run.
Sent from my XT1572 using Tapatalk
It's funny that the 2014 G is exactly the same hardware apart from the camera module and bigger screen (yet same resolution), and is getting the M update.
But yeah, there has to be a cutoff point somewhere even if it's the same product after all. 4.3 -> 4.4.2 -> 4.4.4 -> 5.0.2 -> 5.1, not bad at all! Alberto's AOSP will be excellent as usual.
Oh, well.
We can always count on a great dev to treat us crack-flashers and root junkies with some custom-ROM love.
Thanks XDA DEVs!
I dont think falcon will get it.

It seems that it will keep its outstanding status for quite some time as the entire Moto G series, including the 2013 releases, is reported eligible for an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

it this speech even come from Moto IT speak-person?
Don't believe anything unless you see it published in an Official Motorola account (G+,Twitter, Fb) or a serious tech Blog (or here in the news section).
Dont play with my heart
it is sad it wont get official 6.0 since android one phones will get it, also moto e, moto g 2014, etc
it is not about specs, it it just about age
but yes, compared to samsung, and other motorola did a good job, not perfect
i believe nexus 4 should get it too
Hey there Moto G Users! I'll be doing a custom Rom for the Moto G using Marshmallow and Lollipop... MarshPop is what it's going to be called... It maybe released as soon as I work all the bugs out of it... Expect it in the near future though! Since Marshmallow is basically Lollipop with Added features I maybe able to work all the issues out!
Cheers to all of the Developers! P.S. I've worked on the Transform Ultra from Samsung!
Thanks for Participation in reading!

Here we are with our Moto X Style/Pure Edition way after it has been released. We have been given no confirmation by cyanogen that it will ever officialy support our phones. Their is a semi-working version of cyanogen if you build it yourself... What a chicks me is that the Moto e and g 2015 both run cyanogen 13 (albeit unofficial) and officially support cyanogen 12.1 so I'm just kinda curious if anyone else is slightly annoyed?
No, it'll be here when its ready.
I'm happy enough using Xposed.
AICP is pretty sweet.
Here's a good way to stop development dead in its tracks...

Yeah, AICP is CM based so it has all CM features.
In addition, CM will be officially supported for this device when all the tiny bugs we have left are fixed. (Mainly the Sprint bugs)
Take your time Hash. I'd rather it take longer and be right than quick and super buggy.

No, it doesn't slightly annoy me. But you making a thread like this may slightly annoy those who are in the process of developing an official CM build. Want one quicker? Learn Java, Android development, and help them out!

If you want a job doing, do it yourself. Otherwise, buy a phone that is already supported, or sit tight and wait in the hope that it will get CM (quite likely it will arrive sooner or later).

Just another noob. Gots to get his post count up. I really suggest you rethink your current position. Only 3 posts and this is what you come up with. WTF is wrong with people like you. Why must there always be that one post that pisses me off and I am not a Dev. I support what there doing with donations when I can. I suggest you do the same, then sit back and watch the magic happen. Patience is a virtue. Thanks devs for all your hard work the majority of us appreciate it.
To answer your question, no. Not even slightly annoyed...
The only thing annoying is the OP's impatience. How completely ungrateful.
And .... 3,2,1 closed.

So are we ever going to get official CM support for the Pure/Style? I really would love to use CM on this phone and I don't want to use unofficial ports. Are we waiting until 6.0 lands on our devices from Moto?
Cm13 official is out for other MOTO devices. But not for the pure. Haven't seen any news CM will officially support MOTO X Pure. Maybe they will support it once 6.0 is out? But not looking good imo. Might trade MOTO for my old OnePlus if non development continues. I am flasholic. This device isn't living up to the hype.

I'm the same way man. When I had my g3 I was flashing roms left and right it just feels weird to me now because all that I want is a good CM rom.
Please discuss, post support and spread news about this petition: https://www.change.org/p/motorola-please-include-moto-g-3rd-gen-for-android-nougat-update
Motorola, please include Moto G (3rd Gen) for Android Nougat UpdateOn 4th October 2016 you announced on your official blog which handsets would be getting the Android 7.0 (Nougat) update.
Absent from the list was the Moto G 3rd Gen (Osprey) and Moto G Turbo Edition (Merlin) - making them historically the first Moto G phones to receive only one major Android update. Both Moto G 1st Gen (Falcon) and 2nd Gen (Titan) where given two Android updates - KitKat and Lollipop in the case of 'Falcon,' and Lollipop and Marshmallow for 'Titan.'
The abandoning of support for both 'Osprey' after 8 months (Android 6.0.1 was released in March 2016) and 'Merlin' after only 3 months shows that the Moto brand now will no longer respect the previous practise of providing ‘18 months of update support.’
Included on the current official Nougat update device list is the Moto G Play (4th Gen) - a handset with weaker specifications than both 'Osprey' and 'Merlin.'
The issue is not technical limitation. You appear to have simply decided your last generation Moto G handsets are no longer important.
The Moto G Play uses the exact same chipset and GPU as 'Osprey,' but runs at a lower CPU clock-speed. This profound hardware similarity suggests that in the process of making the update for Moto G Play; much of the work needed to produce a Nougat update for 'Osprey' would be completed.
Moto X Play (also on the Nougat update list) uses the exact same chipset and GPU as Moto G Turbo Edition - making both devices Vulkan compatible.
Moto G is a mid-range device, but your update support for it shrinks with each year. Why should people have confidence in your products when you so casually drop support for your best-selling phone?

To play the devil's advocate, why does anyone care about Motorola updating the G3 to Nougat when it 1) has an unlockable bootloader and 2) is on the list for official CM14? This isn't an iPhone. You don't have to depend on the manufacturer for updates. Honestly I think Motorola was counting on G3 users flashing CM14.
Personally, I don't care if any phone I own has OTA updates as long as I have glorious CM.

@argentwarrior20 - We still need fresh kernel sources, at least we *should* get them. And fresh proprietary blobs too.
There are a lot of users who want to stay stock or doesn't know about community development. They should get official updates too, we can't forget about them this easy [emoji106]

correct. and volte is only available in stock. so most people dont use cm14 or anyother custom roms now. coz of jio volte .. people still needs stock update
i'm in ... there is no true reason for motorola to drop Osprey or Merlin from N update when the play is included
@argentwarrior20 - You are assuming battery-life and performance is just as good in CM/AOSP, as on a Motorola developed Stock ROM. No disrespect to the XDA Devs, but Motorola can optimize and tweak for a superior experience. Also as already mentioned, specific features may only be supported on Stock. If it is at all possible, you should want the option of Stock Android 7.0 to be available.
Im in,
although I seriously doubt that g3 and g power wont get the update.I mean, they arent even old, plus they are compatible,if they dont get the update the one to blame is totally the crappy lenovo which provides just 1 major update(for example, lenovo a6000 and tab 2 series but pretty much almost every their device can be here) and that update is so buggy that it either takes them 1 year to fix the bugs and optimise it or they dont fix them at all.
I'm in!
I too will join with all you guys... Signed the petition..

I'm pretty sure a few ROMs will appear for potter.
I own a Moto G 2014 (yes, 2014 is the year of release) and there are several Pie ROMs for it.
As it's much older why shouldn't 10 appear for potter? Both devices are very well developed on XDA.

You never know when Android will break major compatibility with the blobs. It's supposed to have gotten better since Project Treble, but time will bear that out. After having tried to build 10.0 for Potter, there are definitely a lot of quirks that have to be worked out in regards to the camera and and other vendor stuff. At some point it may require too much effort for the reward. We're lucky because this phone still has a decently large user base due to its popularity on Amazon. I know that at least the ArrowOS guys are currently working on it so the chances are good that we'll get some 10.0 ROMs.
