Phone changed to t mobile from unlocked original samsung sm-n910f - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

original purchase unlocked direct from samsung, decided to have a look at the 5.1.1 stock rom (was on [5.1.1_r6][N910F/G/T/P][ROM] [Unofficial] AICP) flashed via odin.
Tried to change to a different rom after installing twrp (openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-trltexx) on 5.1.1 stock and flashing the kernel with Emotion-TW-nightly-r19-RC1-SM-N910F.
from phone info:
device info trlte
product name trltexx
product code sm-n910f
The question is how do I restore the phone correctly?
thanks

Not sure if i understand you right but if i do then just go to samsung firmware website and download the firmware for your device and flash it via odin and that will restore your phone to normal.

Thanks, I will try this and come back with an update.

1. You can download the latest firmware for your device: HERE. Follow the pics attached (The download is slow like a turtle but be patient).
2. These firmware package is one package. Download, unzip it and flash it then using odin tool to brush into the radio PDA. Lil GUIDE: HERE.

Same problem with me.I have the same korean varient with LG u+ logo. I am using it in Pakistan. Read almost every thread regarding korean variants but there is'nt any method specific for SM-N900L.
So are you wanting to flash a custom recovery e.g. twrp and then install a custom rom?
Sorry if I misunderstood your question.

Hello Hokage-Sama,
i think the custom recovery installed is TWRP
did some further searching online and i was able to restore the firmware from lollipop down to kitkat, from there i was able to download a md5 file which i ran from Odin and i was able to root the phone however, its based on kitkat and im still searching if there are any for lollipop and the only one i see if the 1 poser who asks for a $25 payment to update a N900L to N9005.
... was hoping if i can use Aryamod custom rom but i think my phone should be on a rooted lollipop under N9005 model only.
hope this made sense
thank you
Root is not required to install a custom rom.
If your phone can run 9005 ROMs, you could try editing the updater script to include your phone.

hi, thanks for the reply
apologies i dont know what you meant to edit hte updater script.
Sorry i have a N900L and based on reading some other threads only
DarkLord Note 5 RC2.1 or Phronesis v5.1 will work on my unit.
before installing the rom i should have a custom recovery right? but to get a custom recovery my bootloader needs to be unlocked first.
i am currently stuck on unlocking my bootloader, i downloaded samsung usb drivers, go to recovery mode, then insert the usb on the phone, i hear a sound when you connect a device on the pc and saying that the device is ready to use but i am unable to see the contents of my phone.
am i doing it correctly?
thank you once again
Are you sure the phone's bootloader is locked? If the bootloader is not locked, do not use any unlocking apps because this will proably brick the phone.
Just install TWRP from Odin. I don't recommend Philz Touch or CWM as I don't they have been updated for a while.

i tried the twrp custom recovery based on the link you sent above thru Odin, it messed up my custom recovery, when i tried to go there it said something like unable to load recovery and goes to download mode and the phone wont startup normally.
is that a sign that my bootloader is locked since i cant install the custom recovery?
used my standard backup recovery to bring back the phone.
i wonder how other SM-N900L users installed their roms.
any other help would be greatly appreciated
thanks a lot
When you flashed twrp, did Odin say the installation was successful?
Download the tar version of twrp for your device from here: twrp.me .
In Odin, do not check anything except f.reset time. Flash twrp and, when you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, wait 5 seconds, replace battery, now use button combination to boot into recovery.
thanks for the help, was finally able to install twrp custom recovery. the latest version wont work on SM-N900L, i used TWRP-2.8.6.0-N900S version and it worked! im now running on Darklord N5 custom rom for Note3 and loving it!!!

How can I return to stock firmware from CM 12.1 (Android 5.1)

Hi,
My Device is:
SM-N9005 LTE (32GB)
It was running 4.4. Kitkat and I tried to flash Android 5.0 via Odin. Everything went fine except wifi which did not turn on at all. While searching I found out that many users faced this and there isn't a best fix available yet. Probably I flashed a wrong firmware which may have caused some csc mismatch or kernel issue. I definitely needed the wifi back so i went on to try and experiment more on the device which brought me to CM 12.1 and I flashed it via TWRP. It brought back my wifi but now i miss some of my staple apps on this device especially S Pen Stylus & S health. I tried the simple method - downloading a firmware from sammobile and flashing it through Odin but it failed in Odin. Is there any way I can go back to to Stock firmware? My knox is at 0x1 but it doesn't matter much.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,
I already tried that but it gives this error.
Maybe you have updated your bootloader that's why you can't downgrade. Try lollipop roms. Or try a tw based custom rom with twrp.
What is the baseband and bootloader on your phone?
Match the last 4 characters to firmware here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/
I'm sorry for hijacking this post, but something fairly similar happened to me.
I've got an SM-N900, decided to update to Lollipop but despite all my efforts I've been getting awful battery life so I'd like to go back to KK.
Right now I'm using
Bootloader & PDA: N900UBUEBOF1
CSC: N900PGUEBOF2
Baseband: N900UBUEBOC3
and would like to go back to
PDA: N900UBUDND1
CSC: N900UWADND3
I've been reading and found that you need to flash this if your bootloader is on Lollipop, this is where my doubts begin. How do I know if my bootloader has been updated to Lollipop? If my BL is on Lollipop and I flash that file, can I install any KK rom?
Thank you for reading this, and I apologize for hijacking this thread.

Trying to revert back to stock rom N910F

Hey guys,
I'm trying to revert back to the stock rom on my N910F (UK purchase - unlocked) but no matter which firmware I download via Sammobile, it just isn't working! It says "FAILED" on Odin when flashing. The only firmware that seems to work is N910FXXU1COH4_DevBase_alexndr - but this version has constant knox notifications and I'm giving my phone to a family member who doesn't want root or anything because she's not very good with phones, she also wants the stock rom installed only.
Can anybody advise me on where I'm going wrong or the firmware I need to install? Should I attempt 5.0 instead of 5.1? Thanks in advance!

Make absolutely sure you have the proper firmware, (correct country code) and so on..
Also..do you have a custom recovery installed.? IF so, you'll probably need to flash the stock recovery from the OS your needing to revert..after stock recovery is working, then flash the firmware..
sent by my: SM-531M-57 Grand Prime (or) my: SM-N910C Note 4 (Lollipop 5.1.1)
Make shure to use the genuine USB cable and don't use USB 3 port

Not able to install anything on my SM-G530H, it's frustrating.

Hi guys,
I've been trying to install all the latest ROM using TWRP without success. I can't even find the original rom for my exact model and I don't know what to do anymore. The only thing that I need is to install a ROM with Android 5.0 and above.
I've tried:
- LineageOs 15.0 (black screen flickering) fortuna3g
- LineageOS 14.1 (black screen) fortuna3g
- LineageOS 13 (black screen) for this I've tried the fortuna3g and the fortunave3g
My phone data:
Baseband version: G530HXXU2AOE5
Kernel version: 3.10.28-613519
Android version: 4.4.4
TWRP version: 3.2.1-0
When I start the phone in recovery mode I get a message: Set warranty bit: recovery
I searched on Sammobile for an original update but I don't have the code for the country of the phone (the three letter code).
I'd be happy if I can find either a LineageOs or Cyanogenmod that is working on this phone, with Android 5, 6 or 7.

If twrp 3.2.1 is not working then try twrp 2.7.0 and use odin to flash twrp and keep in mind to enable usb debuging by going to developer option. And is your device updated to lolipop or you are still in kitkat version
LineageOS 15 should not work. But 13 and and 14 should be working on your device. Try flashing the latest Russian firmware from SamMobile using Odin. Most of the custom ROMs are based of Russian firmware. After that flash latest TWRP 3.2.x.x and flash the ROM again making sure that you got the correct XXU (fortuna3g) firmware. Try the steps and check it out @overkill22

Looks like I might found out the issue. You first need to upgrade to stock Samsung 5.0 lollipop ROM using Odin.
I don't know about any alternative to odin for Linux. You can maybe install Windows on VM or dual boot it, or use someone else's PC.
First install the correct version of firmware from SamMobile for your phone. Then install it using odin. Afterwards if you want you can install TWRP and then install LineageOS.

I actually need only a ROM with Android 5.0 or above, it the stock update is above 5.0 I don't need Lineage at the moment (though it would be nice to try it out).
The problem is the windows pc, and a fast solution. I just need to install one app on the phone for a couple of weeks, that's all. But this app needs Android 5.0 or above.

I tried with the russian version found here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-grand-prime/SM-G530H/ with
PDA: G530HXCS1BQD3
CSC: G530HSER1B
but the operation failed.
I can't find anything with my baseband version.
My phone data:
Baseband version: G530HXXU2AOE5
Kernel version: 3.10.28-613519
I finally managed to install. The version I used is any of teh matching: G530HXX.
The G530HXC won't work.

32GB TGY Motherboard and custom ROMs

I have a question regarding a motherboard I bought. I used Phone Info and I get the following information:
Phone Model: SM-N9005/Galaxy Note 3
Device Type: hlte
Product Name: hltezh
CSC Code: TGY
Bootloader Version: N9005ZHUENB1
Baseband Version: N9005ZHUENA6
Phone Info says there is a newer firmware (N9005ZSUGPJ2) but when I try the firmware updater via the Settings app it says I'm already on the latest update. I also can't find the current bootloader (N9005ZHUENB1) and baseband (N9005ZHUENA6) on Sammobile.
Do I need to update to Android 5.0 as it is still on 4.4.2 and I want to use LineageOS 16.0. Will the current firmware (4.4.2) work when I want to root the phone and install TWRP to install LineageOS 16.0?
5 is on sammobile and other sites N9005ZSUGPJ2

But can I flash it via Odin on this motherboard? I've read on another thread that it is used for 16GB TGY motherboards because it has another PIT file.

Try it, if it failed, don't flash with CSC, if it also failed, just leave it like that.
You want to try LOS16, it is fine, I booted Pie ROMs, RR, with KitKat bootloader older than yours.
If you had any problems later, just flash modem & bootloader files only.
No need to flash the whole stock ROM.
