Hi Everyone,
I have got a lot of feed back from my case that I made for my Raspberry Pi, so much so I am starting a Kickstarter campaign early 2016. The case and my progress can be seen here;

If you would like to be kept up to date feel free to email me and let me know what you think. Looking forward to reading your responses to this project!
Thanks,
James

I am still mostly new to developing (since august and only released 1 app in the market) and I have an idea for a home-replacement. I only have sketches of what I would like it to look like. Since I have already posted the pictures and the descriptions of the functions of the UI on my website, I will just give you the name of the website to go to. I am asking for collaboration in making this a reality. Credit will be given to all of those who help, even if it is to tweak the icon. If there are any questions, please ask. You can either PM, email, or post a comment here or on the blog to reach me. Thanks in advance

Brilliant idea. I was searching for slide-out dock or something like "fan". I would like to help you, but i know only BASICS of C++.
If I understand you right, you have in mind sth. like this:
-Objectdock
-"fan" like menu
-Circle dock
P.S.:
I found side-bar like app and it's called Smart taskbar (sidebar). It's good but i don't like full screen look. It would better looking sth. like Objectdock.
I can try to help, I am currently in school for software engineering. My Java skills are decent, but I'm really not familiar with the Android API's so I'm not sure how much help I can offer with my busy schedule. Regardless, send me a PM if you want help.
this looks really nice...I like the fan like menu alot
Try talk to the people/person behind slick ui.

Love the idea! I think it looks like a home replacement that i would actually use and as long as it's stable it would rival launcherpro
I am willing to do some very basic development (i am currently learning java) but I cannot code very well but I can deffinatley give some tips and do LOTS of beta testing.
please PM me when you start the development for this app or sooner.
thanks,
ljbaumer
EDIT: I probably won't be able to help that much with the deving because I haven't worked with the andorid APIs yet because I am still learning but I know all about the SDK and how to use it completely. I also know a lot of overall android info.
Thank you all for replying. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I just recently got the XDA app and I could load up all of my threads. I have made some progress on the home replacement app. My first problem was to get the app to be accepted by the phone as a home replacement. I got that figured out. Then I placed a simple grid view in the app containing all of the application icons from the phone. My current problem is that I don't know how to make each icon launch the application. If anyone knows how to do that, it would help tremendously. Once again, thank you so much for hearing me out
Good afternoon everyone!
My business partner and myself are currently trying to develop a product and have hit the limitations of our capabilities. Without going into too great of detail, we are looking to develop something using a Raspberry Pi or similar device for us in the automobile. We are vehicle guys and were able to mash something together to accomplish our goal, however it is definitely not production grade.
We are looking for someone to partner with us on development of this product. We are looking to move on this at an aggressive pace, so if you are interested please message me ASAP and we can discuss further.
Thank you for your time and attention,
Dave Eichorn
I was actually thinking of doing something along this lines except leaning toward the cubieboard or pandaboard. The pandaboard had more development behind it to where you could add touch screen, gps and a gsm sim card to it with more ease. By time I got my initial cost analysis done, the cost seemed to high and I abandoned the idea a long with the crude app I made for testing purposes.
Hi everyone, apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post this.
I just landed a nexus 10 and wanted to know if anyone would be interested in working together on an application. I run an art studio and essentially need an application that would tie all my departments together (gallery, enrollment, studio, etc) so that all departments could see the same relevant information across one app. For anyone interested I can go into greater detail. This would initially be more proof of concept and perhaps an opportunity for new developers to learn.
There's a possibility in the future this will be implemented across nexus devices in the studio for which my goal is to naturally pay the developers for their hard work. As it stands this is a personal effort on my end to see if we can work together and learn. Thanks everyone!
Hi everyone,
I just discovered a promising project on kickstarter which - in my opinion - is worth a look and might deserve some more backers.
It's called "Nudge" and is a very slick and straight designed Messenger app. Next to the design and some promising features I appreciate most the promised cross-platform experience. I always hate to type WhatsApp messages on my phone while I'm sitting in front of a computer anyhow.
Have a look for yourself: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/f1f1rul3s/nudge-the-instant-messaging-app-like-no-other
As with every WhatsApp alternative the most important question will be whether enough people will install the app and form a relevant user base.
Please note that I'm not affiliated with the project in any way, I just thought that XDA would be a good place to find some people who appreciate promising app concepts.
Best,
Becksman
Hey,
I backed Nudge. Lets hope it will be successful in funding and after that popular.
And it looks like "Nudge" needs a lot more backers, so go ahead and give the guy 5 bucks so he can build the messenger.
Yep. Backed them too.
While the goal of 150k GBP might seem a little ambitious as of today, I really like the idea. And if they shouldn't reach their goal - no-one gets charged. So c'mon - back this project.
Hi, I'm Steve, I do some roms over on the s6/note5/treble forums. I recently purchased this board after noticing it was a big step up from raspberry pi. After buying the board I went looking for retro gaming options. Lakka exists. RetroPie is in development, done by custom developers. It is not an official RetroPie release or affiliated with the Official RetroPie on Raspberry Pi. However it works and looks the same. It is just an unofficial port. Currently it is working for many emulators. But Dreamcast, psp need work, and I wanted Saturn. I found the two guys developing the project and reached out to them(crash), and ultimately joined the team for ROTT(retropie on the tinkerboard). Links can be found in post #2. Please report any bugs as it will help us improve the project. Happy Gaming, or viewing, depending on what you do.
Current release is ROTT 1.1 Epic Edition.
** Fixed DC, PSP, and added Saturn.

Just flash it to your SD card and go.

I was able to get Sega Saturn to run really well with some tweaking. It will be included in a upcoming build. Dreamcast is also fine. N64 and ps1 are good. Psp is doing better now. The GPU has been set to it's Max of 600, finally unlocking the advantage this board has on the pi for gaming.
ROTT is up to 1.0.8 now. The deluxe version has mame and mess included.

Please note, there are no ads or sales on the site, slash TV has been added also for tinkerboard, and nano pi fire 3. It's an Android based emulation setup that doubles as a media centre.

Don't use that. Use 1.0.8 epic or 1.0.7, and it's tinker/tinkerboard
Question
Thanks for the awesome img! I have a question, is it possible to integrate some Media players in this image? for watch movies under RetroPie?

Hi Steve, I'm Roger and this message/reply hass nothing to do with the tinkerboard (sorry everyone, for thread-jacking). It is actually with reference to the Jetson Nano. This is the first post that google found on xda, after i included "xda techtoyti....." in my search terms.
I'm messaging just to say "Hi" because I sent you a message using the "contact me" feature on your website but I check XDA on a far more regular basis, than I check my hotmail account.
I am still awaiting the postman to deliver my nano 4gb. It is 1pm here in the UK and the parcel tracking says that it is out for delivery, with the driver
please feel free to PM me

Yeah I know. Have downloaded it already and looking forward to testing it out
I'm hopeful of an Android port too, which was my reason for reaching out through your website.
I've already flashed my sd card with Nvidia's os and I've downloaded the Android ROM for the switch.
Still waiting for the postman though
Again, sorry for thread-jacking. Can I pm you instead?
2nd edit. Postman just arrived! Yay.
