After more than a year with my 4.3 Note 3. I decided to flash a custom ROM. Namely Aryamod 6. (first attachment was the stock 4.3 I started with). I knew that I needed to backup my data so I decided to flash a custom recovery so I went about it by getting Rom Manager to flash CWM which eventually would allow me to flash TWRP. I eventually used the dd install method to install TWRP but that didn't work so I used odin to flash it. This caused my Note to freeze up a few minutes after booting with a black screen and the status bar just showing.
I decided to go through with flashing Aryamod v6 to get a fresh start. I flshed the BL and CP files which then caused my Note to go into a boot loop where I can't even boot to recovery. I was told to update to a 5.0 rom and I used the base rom of Aryamod v6 which is the BOE4 rom. Now when I try to flash the BOE4 rom I get the volume size is too big and invalid ext4 image.
Also sometime during the first bootloop I accidentally ticked Nand EraseAll but as far as I could see it did nothing.
Anyway, right now it is very difficult to download another ROM because of horrible Philippine isps and my Note is also my daily driver so I need to get it back into working order ASAP. These are the files I have:
ODIN 3.09
N9005XXUGBOEA_N9005OJVGBOE4_KSA - The Base ROM of Aryamod v6 a 5.0 rom
N9005XXUGBOEA_AryaModV6.0_Public - Aryamod v6
CP_N9005XXUGBOD3.tar.md5 - part of the aryamod instructions and I believe the modem of 5.0
BL_N9005XXUGBOEA.tar.md5 - part of the aryamod instructions and I think the bootloader?
twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.3.img. zip- The twrp version I flashed when I was on 4.3
hlte-recovery.img.zip - I flashed this to get out of the recovery loop when I dd installed Twrp.
PIT-File-DBT+VFG-UK-MSM8974 - A PIT file.
SM-N9005_32GB.pit - another pit file. Flashing this got me into stock recovery.
N9005ZHUBMI7_N9005ZZHBMI7_N9005XXUBMI5_HOME.tar.md5 - I don't remember where I got this. Haven't flashed this but it might be a backup of my 4.3 rom
A few questions.
Can I fix my phone with these files?
When Flashing the BOE4, I just put it on PDA/AP? but in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/guide-t2983873, he seems to be putting it on everything.
I really need your help on these
I have no idea about that file you have, whether it will work or not, but the only thing I can say is, the Polish ROM is the Lollipop ROM which works on most devices, so you might wanna give it a try.
I don't live in a place with even decent ISPs, but I can download a ROM in less than two hours, so if your condition is not worse then you will have to download a ROM rather than depending on what you have.
I've been trying to *fix* my phone for the past 10 hours and not having much luck. I have tried to flash stock 6.0 ROMs using the TWRP and it fails (not sure why).
I flashed a 6.0 ROM, which didn't include the bootloader and modem and the phone was stuck at the SAMSUNG logo.
I then flashed a stock 6.0 ROM using ODIN from this link: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/87542/G900IDVU1CPG2_G900IXSA1CPG2_XSA/
After waiting about 15 minutes, the phone went beyond the SAMSUNG logo and displayed that the apps were initialising. It then went back to the SAMSUNG logo.
I used odin to flash the bootloader and modem found from another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/s5-g900i-marshmallow-bootloader-modem-t3382754
I've since flashed TWRP again, done a wipe / factory reset and then flashed the ROM again from sammobile (which includes the recovery) so I then immediately flashed the TWRP again.
What am I doing wrong here? Why wont the phone go past the SAMSUNG logo?
Before leaving the office I done the flashing again and halfway home in the car the phone booted fine as normal.
No ideas what happened before. I effing hate this phone.
Hey all,
I hope everyone is well. I'm having some issues with my Note 3 N9005 intl variant.
I am currently running Resurrection Remix Marshmallow (6.0.1) and its pretty stable and is a good daily driver however it has some bugs that I'm not a fan of. I used Odin to re-flash the stock ROM I got from sammobile back on to my Note 3 (N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005BTUGBOJ1_BTU) however every time I flash it, I am stuck on a boot loop. This is also the case if I try to flash another custom ROM using TWRP, so I am not sure what is wrong.
[Edit] I tried to flash the purify kernel for this ROM however this also results in a bootloop. Currently I am on the kernel that came with this rom which is the temasek kernel
[Edit2] I've managed to get to the samsung logo but its been 10+ minutes and I am still on the pulsing samsung logo. I've done a battery pull and I've also done the cache partition delete and factory reset from the recovery menu, however I am still stuck on the pulsing samsung logo.
Thanks guys
Does Odin successfully flash the stock firmware? You confirmed the model # in download mode?

Odin says that the stock firmware has been successfully flashed. As for the download mode it says the following:
Product name: SM-N9005
After flashing a stock ROM, are you booting the phone into recovery and performing a factory reset before flashing the newly-installed stock ROM for the first time?

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean I flash the stock and then boot into recovery and factory reset before the first boot? Or I should flash the stock and then factory reset and then reflash the stock ROM?
I had the Dot os ROM installed on my device, however in my attempt to update TWRP on it - I must have messed something and the device was going beyond the Samsung Logo. I thought reverting back to Original ROM would be a safe bet. I have flashed to the original ROM using Odin and the rom boots up beautifully, I then flash TWRP via Odin and then copy the Dot OS Oreo zip and Gapps zip files and flash it. Everything installs fine but after the first boot it goes to a weird static colorbar screen (much like the screen gone bad) and stays there. I have tried a different ROM but it all ends up doing the same and stuck on the 'black' screen. Any suggestions what might I do ?
Greetings everyone,
I decided to post my problem with my phone after searching the entire internet for similar problem but with no luck. Anyway I used to play around with my Samsung j7 pro for 2 years, I managed to flash twrp and thus many other custom roms, until last week when I recklessly flashed a sboot.img.tar file through Odin in order to fix cellular network in a rom I flashed earlier, this alone bricked my phone refusing to get past the Samsung logo, so like I do always, I tried to restore my phone by flashing the stock firmware (9.0) which I always keep on my PC, but surprise, the phone refuses to go through the process and gives me this error:
sw rev check fail bootloader device -1 binary 6
(same with 8.0 and 7.0 firmware)
I searched the internet for same error but with no luck, because I understand it's a mismatch between device bootloader current version and the firmware bootloader's, that they should be the same or higher, meaning you can't downgrade, I get that! but I never seen device with negative figure (-1) what that's supposed to mean? my device bootloader used to be on 6, how did it managed to jump to minus one ?
then I tried to flash TWRP to see if I could flash a rom and get around it, so I did, but when booting into recovery the screen goes black, I thought first the phone turned off, but not really, because TWRP seems to work with screen completely black, I knew that because I accidentally touch the screen and I sense vibration, I managed to reboot the phone via twrp just by guessing the buttons location (screen always black) in order to prove that TWRP is working with screen off. I tried to flash multiple TWRP versions but the same problem, no screen just touch, by the way there is nothing wrong with display hardware because it shows Samsung logo at start and also can boot into download mode just fine.
I hope someone could help me overcome this big of an issue, because I tried everything.
Where did you find such sboot.img.tar file?

First, can you try installing any custom rom, blindly(since you said the screen is black when you boot in recovery).
Second, can you try flashing stock firmware without the BL part in Odin?

I tried blindly many times flashing any custom rom but with no luck since it's really hard predicting the buttons location on the screen, I probably need another phone replica with working twrp to mimick the exact moves.
For stock firmware, I manage to install it without BL but when booting it's just stuck on the Samsung logo, and when booting into stock recovery nothing just black screen, and booting into download mode it seems that the installation didn't change the binary -1, since I could see it on the screen

This is a screenshot when I try to install stock firmware (with BL)

Can you try flash other sboot files from the link you gave me? Try to flash some sboot file, and then make full flash of your stock firmware.
If not, maybe you can try flashing sboot with heimdal https://www.glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/
I have the same issue, any help or advice?
Flash Ășltimo bootloader e modem CP
Flash Any Custom ROM
Did you flash misc partition ?
If your device keep booting in blackscreen, you need to erase misc partition.
Here, is the guide for erasing MISC partition: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...omi-redmi-note-9-xiaomi-redmi-10x-4g.4209299/
The guide is for REDMI NOTE 9, so if you try to perform the method 1, you can cause more damages to your device.
Please, follow METHOD 2 only !
If TWRP is not working perfectly, obviously you need to flash stock rom recovery.img.
Good luck
