Phone is rooted and unlocked with multirom since July and has been working great. 3 roms installed; liquidsmooth 5.1.1, chroma 5.1.1, and Ubuntu.
Yesterday, calling started to be intermittent. Sometimes switching airplane mode on/off fixed it, sometimes it didn't. Today I cannot get calls to work at all. Phone shows dialing but then hangs up before any ringing. Incoming calls don't work either, it goes straight to voicemail. I thought it may have been lollipop but the problem occurs in Ubuntu as well. Funny thing is that the phone finds the network carrier and has decent signal.
I havent changed anything on the phone recently, only thing is that I dropped it 3 days ago. Thankfully no cosmetic damage, but am starting to think internal damage.
I've tried soft reboot, cold booting, pulling the sim...no luck
Should also mention I'm on virgin mobile canada...
Any ideas?

You could try flashing the radio image via fastboot.
I tried flashing the radio via recovery... No luck either

I had the 4.4.2 google edition rom flashed on my phone and it was working perfectly fine until I bought a dock for it. At first it seemed to be okay, but after a while I noticed the phone started to randomly reboot on me and eventually reboot and get stuck on a bootloop which made me reflash the device. now everything seems to be okay except the actual service on my phone.. I've tried reflashing the rom several times but it still doesn't seem to fix the issue. I'm on Fido in Canada. I can receive both texts and incoming calls, I just get respond to texts or actually call anyone...
So i have a huge problem.
It seems that the phone has problem registering to the network.
I first saw this a week ago when trying to call someone... i could make the call, but it showed that i had enough signal (more than half).
At first i was thinking then the one i was trying to call had no signal or had closed the phone.
But i then noticed that my phone was the problem.
It simply could make a call even though it showed that is was register with the network.
Sometimes i rebooted the phone and it worked for a couple of minutes, and i could make calls, but if i left it be for 2-3 minutes and tryed to call someone , i could'nt.
Sometime if i went to airplane mode and came back i could make calls, but after some minutes i had again problems.
I tryied everything, like :
- no wifi
- no gps
- reset to stock
- use only 2g
- use only 3g
- use 4.2.2 or 4.4.2 or 5.0.x
Nothing worked.
Has anyone had these kind of problems ?
So i sent it to lg service, and they said it was the motherboard.
So bummer ..

I have an SGH-I337M on the Bell network. After a flight, I took the phone off of airplane mode and it did not regain service. After a restart service reconnected (data and texting) but then disappeared after a minute. Generally, I do not get "No Service" errors and I have never gotten "SIM Card Removed", the bars and LTE in the corner persist although nothing seems to come through. I did some searching and found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/help/service-problem-i337mvlufni2-t2977997
and gave the instructions a shot. I was able to use data and text for about 5 minutes initially, but since the first boot it has reverted to the original problem (coincidence?). I also took the phone in to a repair shop and had the SIM tray replaced, which did not solve the problem either. I have tried using ODIN to return to stock (I337MVLUFNI2_I337MOYAFNI2_BMC) and have tried CM11 and unofficial lollipop releases. The issue is identical in all cases.
I'm really hoping I missed something obvious here.
Thoughts?

Tested my SIM in another phone and it worked perfectly. Tested different SIM in this phone, same issues.
Bump.
The same issue here. The service/network is lost a few minutes after reboot. When I reboot my phone everything works perfectly fine - call, sms, switching to airplane mode, navigating through Mobile Networks menu items (in Settings->Connections->More Networks->Mobile Networks). After 5 minutes all those features/apps stop working. Everything looks normal but when I start one of those apps, the app hangs/freezes and stays frozen. For example when I try to place a call, the app is stuck in 'Dialing....' process and stays like that forever. When I try to end the call the app is not responding. The same thing with all apps that need/use network. All those apps stay frozen when started. Notification bar is showing I am connected to the network and network icon is showing strong signal. I tried different roms including stock rom but that didn't help. Looks like a software issue but I could be wrong.
Any suggestions anyone?
I've been using AICP for a while (Marshmallow), but haven't done an update in a while. By a while, I mean that I don't think I've flashed anything in weeks. Suddenly, I cannot make or receive calls today. Yesterday I made a number of calls just fine. I checked all the standard possible causes, dialer apps, default apps for phone, etc. After no success, I decided to flash back to stock.
Now I'm on stock 6.0. Same problem, cannot make calls. All I get is a screen which says "dialing" until it makes a tone sound and hangs up, never rings anyone. My phone never rings or responds when other people call. I do have full bars and service, and my APN is set up properly with AT&T in the USA. SMS and Data work fine, and so does WiFi. No other problems at all with the phone. I've had it for about a year and a half with no real hardware issues other than a loose charging port. No drops, no cracked screen or anything.
I'm wondering if anybody has a clue about what the problem with my phone is. I'm willing to generate and provide logs if there's a way to do that which could show the issue.
EDIT1: Derp, just tried the SIM in my girlfriend's phone. Seems to by my sim card. I'll go to AT&T tomorrow and report back here if the issue is fixed.
SM-G900T - currently running stock MM ROM
Family Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO)
I've had the S5 almost four years now. Worked great on stock ROM, Cyanogen, and for a year or so on Lineage. For the past year, I've had cell network issues.
I started having a problem running Lineage, where I would randomly not be able to receive calls or SMS. In testing, I discovered that this would last for hours or days, until I rebooted the phone. Then it would work perfectly for a few hours and the problem returned. This was the same regardless of my location or cell tower, and who the call was from and what network they were on. I've never had a problem making calls or sending SMS, it's only been with incoming.
I've always been able to fix this by flashing back to the stock MM ROM. Then I would get tired of it and try Lineage again. Then I started having the same problem on stock, too.
I flashed stock a few times and finally got it working where I don't have the incoming calls problem, but there was a new problem. No LTE bandwidth. I started off with 7 mbs down and 100 kbs up. Now when I test it, it's 100 kbs for both. I've been running it this way for a few months.
Customer support from my carrier has always insisted that everything is fine on their end.
Now I'm afraid to flash anything, dreading the incoming calls issue will return.
Are there any diagnostic steps I can take to figure out what the problem is?
