hi,
does anyone knows an app that works on op2 and shows the charging current? I want't to compare the oem cable with some aftermarket
tnx
Try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slash.electron&hl=en
For me Ampere works pretty nice: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.ampere&hl=en
Cheers
Clark
Go in the dialer, compose *#808# and go in Charger menu which a bit lower. It will show the current being used by the battery (outward and inward)

Has anyone experimented with a greater than 700mA microUSB charger? The charging time with the stock unit is much too slow IMO.
I bought a 2A car charger and have had no problem
Sent from my... you know!
I have a 2A, 5v car charger, that works no worries. I needed the higher power charger to have the phone's BEAUTIFUL screen on with Sygic Navigation running while Im driving, and still have the phone charge.
Running it like this, it charges slowly, but doesnt get very hot and can be running the whole time.
I havent tried having it plugged in much without the screen on, but i reckon it would just charge faster without much fuss.
Cheers.
I'd like to know where you bought it from, guys...

Would you check the current the phone is drawing from your 2A charger?
Go to the file /sys/class/power_supply/battery/batt_chg_current and open it with Astro or some other file manager.
In the same location, the file charging_source gives the following values:
0 - no power source
1 - usb power source (with limited current per batt_chg_current)
2 - wall power source with higher current in batt_chg_current)
What is yours reporting when connected to the 2A, for both files?
Hi everybody and pardon in advance if there's already any other thread about it (I didnt found ..).
I'm experiencing freezing after I remove sgs2 from car charger, or after I close a call while charging. trying to switch the screen off causes freezing, I haft remove battery.
further infoes:
-car charger features: 5v 1a and no problem with other devices
-no problem until screen is off, freezing appears when I start using the phone and than I switch the screen off.
-my app list is very long, but this bug happened from the very first day I bought sgs2
-I installed "battery indicator" from market. it has the capability to show temperature and volting. before the phone freezes, I can read: hi temperature (over 35°) and "overvolting" issue (over 4,8v) .
it seems my sgs2 doesnt fit perfectly my charger and goes to overvoltage. screen is very hot when it freezes.
-cpuset is conservative 200-800 (it solved hot issue in daily usage)
did anybody else experience this bug? any hint aside not use the car charger?
tnx in advance
Is it a Samsung Car Charger or from some different manufacturer?
There was a thread on here about using non Samsung wall chargers. The discovery was if the charger has a poor output (ie noisy) it will cause some glitching or visible stuttering to the display whilst swyping through screens and stuff.
Might be similar?
u right about wall charger: stuttering using 1A 5v htc charger (samsung one is 5v 0.7A) and different Amperage doesnt affects time to charge my galaxy.
I was talkin of car charger, maybe it's 1A to causes overvoltage? I ll give it a try with another one, or a samsung charger. I'm not using a samsung car charger.
tnx
I fixed!
this is how:
-bought new usb cable. no problem with 1A 5v charger, but cable was a chinese one, now I use original samsung
-changed settings in setup cpu: 200-1200mhz (it was 200-800 before). for some reason, underclockin could be responsible of undervolting
I dunno wich of the 2 fixed the problem, btw I got rid of that
tnx for any hint u gave
Been trying to find a convenient and affordable way to ensure I can charge my beloved S4 in my truck at a rate that can keep up with music streaming, navigation, and/or a dashcam app. It would be nice if it actually charged too, not just kept up.
So far, I have tried these chargers:
2.1A Output Dual USB Car Charger
1 Port USB Car Charger 2.1A
And this cable (note other lengths and right/left angles available):
Red Band Smartphone Quick Charge Cable
I can get just as fast a charging rate according to CurrentWidget as I can with the wall charger at home (1200mA).
Two problems.
One is I can not run Pandora and my Dash Cam App at the same time and still charge. Running the dashcam app alone, it still charges, but i need my music.
Two is how come I see people saying 1900mA? Is currentwidget lying to me? How come, even with the stock charger on an outlet I can't get over 1200mA?
Does anyone have any better suggestions for how to get the most out of car charging, or have I exhausted the best of the best?
P.S. I just ordered one of these to test out. Anyone have any experience with anything like this?
Hi all,
I have the stock 2.5A, 5.3V stock charger listed here for my ZUK Z1:
http://www.zukmobile.cc/zuk-mobile-phone-fast-charger.html
But the problem is it still takes around 2.5 hours and even more to fully charge whereas I've read that it should take 2 hours for a full charge. I have tested the ampere with different apps and it only draws around 1880mAh at most when the screen is off. Is it possible that my phone is locked at 2000mAh? Could it be possible that the charger adapter (because I had to use an adapter for pins) is preventing the device from drawing more than 2000mAh? I would appreciate any help.
Thank you.
NO FASTCHARGE SUPPORT FOR OUR DEVICE!!!
You problem is cable for 60%/bad battary30%/bad hands10%
Thank you for the reply. Afaik, our devices support's fast charging. The Chinese variant comes with the above mentioned fast charger but the International version comes with a normal 2.0 Ampere charger. I just need to know why my phone is charging with normal speed rather than fast charging.
Which apps did you use to check? Because I checked my zuk with Ampere and I got 1.3- 1.4 mAh.. And I'm with the normal charger.. Is it weird?

First, note that when your device's screen is off, it'll draw more ampere for charging. Yes, I tried Ampere Pro among a bunch of other apps, none of which would record the charging draw while the screen is off. Fortunately, I tested Live Charging and for me this app is the best. It can measure the ampere even when the screen is off. Regarding your question, if it draws that much ampere when the screen is on, it's perfectly acceptable and normal.
Im using a htc oem qc 3 charger with an htc usb cable because i bought my v20 used and the phone wont quick charge. My htc 10 will quick charge with the same charger i also tested it out with two qc power banks and neither registered as fast charging im running NATF 4.0 for h910 anyway to get qc?

Faulty phone maybe? Mine shows fast charging on every quick charge charger I've tried (about 4 different ones) not sure what else it could be. Try a different cable?
I enabled quickcharge by entering the hidden menu in the dialer and doing a port test then a charging log not sure what that changed but it enabled fast charge and the respective charging rate
Hi,
How can see the hidden menu? Do you have to type any code to dialer?

Before you did the secret menu thing, were you getting the Android fast charge notification? Just curious cause I've been disappointed by the quick charging capabilities of this phone. It's listed as QC3 compatible but does not charge as far as quick charge 3 advertises. Also there is another thread about it that says they found that the phone only reports as a QC2 in the secret menu while charging with a QC3 charger so I would like to know what yours is charging at now that you fixed it
Last week my phone stopped quick charging on any QC (QC 2.0 or QC 3.0) or Fast charger that I have.
The chargers and cables test OK with other phones and tablets.

I know this has been a while, but can you give more information?
I have entered SVC Menu -> Port Check Test
and SVC Menu -> Battery Test -> Charging Test
enabling both.
There has been no improvement in charging performance.
