I just recently got 5.1 on my XT1060. I want to set priority mode so that it behaves similarly to the old silent mode on prior Android versions. For example, when I'm sleeping, I want to set up priority mode so that I ONLY get alarms (no sound or vibrate for calls, messages, reminders, other app notifications, etc.).
Anyway, I have configured the following settings:
When calls and notifications arrive -> Allow only priority interruptions
Priority interruptions:
Events and reminders -> ***OFF***
Calls -> OFF
Messages -> OFF
My problem is that, even though "Events and reminders" is set to OFF, I STILL get a notification sound and vibration for reminders set within Google Now. However, this DOESN'T happen for reminders attached to notes within Google Keep. I haven't yet tested all the other possibilities with Calendar events and reminders.
In the "App notifications" settings for the "Google App", Priority is OFF.
What is the expected behavior?
This seems like a bug to me.
As an additional comment, it seems like it would be useful to have customizable presets for the Interruptions settings. Depending on the situation, I may want to configure interruption settings differently. For example, sleep vs. in-a-meeting vs. driving vs. in-a-movie-theater, etc. Rather than having a single "Priority" mode, there could be a drop-down where you select from an arbitrary number of customized presets.
Finally, how do the per-app notification priority settings interact with the Interruptions settings? For example, what is supposed to happen if I turn on Priority in the per-app notifications settings for Hangouts, but have Messages OFF in the Interruptions settings. What happens when I get an SMS?
Good day, it seems you're in stock 5.1. I'm running CM 12.1 20150916 nightly and its been great.
About the presets you mention CM has something called Profiles (see screenshots) and you can enable them from quick settings if you add Profiles as a tile.

Thanks. I have no plans to flash a custom ROM. I just want to understand what the expected behavior is and whether or not this is a bug.
I posted the same question on the Nexus Google Product Forums and got no replies.

Hi all! Sorry, my english isn't good... , I'll try to explain my problem as best I can.
I have installed CM 10.1 on my nexus 4. At settings/sounds/ i have an option "quiet hours" to disable the notifications sounds, vibrations and leds. I use it all nights for disable all.
But my question is if I can enable and disable this option using nfc task, with tasker or another app. The reason is that the notificacions is easy to disable with tasker, there is an option to set de volumen 0, but i dont see nothing for disable the vibrations, i have all vibrate options marked (whatsapp, sms, facebook messenger...) and i want to disable them at nights.
I only see that this can be done with the quiet hours option including at the menu of CM 10.1 roms, but i dont know how to enable quiet hours with tasker and use it on my nfc tags.
With tasker, try silent mode "on"? That would turn volume off and turn off vibration ad well.

but i want to set all vibrate on notify off, but i can´t do it with tasker:
That action is unavaliable on this devices...
The quiet hours of the CM 10.1 rom´s have this action:
but i dont know how to enable and disable this using tasker or another nfc app, becouse I use nfc tags and i want to disable and enable it using this tags.
Okay. Maybe I'm crazy. Maybe my phone's just not honoring my settings. But my DND mode isn't working. I have it set on a schedule to kick in everyday around 10pm and disable at 7am. I have custom exceptions for favorite contacts, alarms on, repeat callers on, but events/reminders off. I don't have any apps set for priority notifications. But I still get sound notifications for just about everything. On top of that, I still get reminders from the apps I set it on for (messaging apps, mainly SMS). Am I doing something wrong?
Mine force closes every time I attempt to go into the settings. The only way I can get it to work is by manually turning it on and off via the quick settings bar. It does work because I received e-mails, texts etc. while it was turned on and it never made a peep. I googled it, and other people are having the issue also.

Maybe it's your font settings? No problems with mine and no problems having it block stuff when activated. I use it daily when sleeping because I work nights.

Nope went back to default theme and font still does it even after a reboot
I had the same problem and it miraculously started working again
I had the same problem. Started playing around with notification settings for individual apps tonight. I believe I have the settings right to avoid getting notifications when I don't want them. Here's a screen shot of one of the apps. You have to go into each app you DON'T want notifications for and set them as they are in the screen shot. Hope this helps.

UPDATE from previous post - it would appear that my advise above is garbage. I continued to get notifications even after I made changes to individual application notification settings. I'm stumped at this point. Samsung needs to address this.

And while they are at it, add the damn LED to the do not disturb mode!!! I don't want to have a bright green LED shining in my face overnight, much less a blinking one.
Getting the Most Out of the Built-In Phone Manager App
You may have noticed the Phone Manager app on your Honor 8. If you've never bothered to mess with this app, I highly recommend it. There are a lot of ways that the app can help improve the way your phone operates. Here are some of the best ways to use this app.
System Optimization
The System Optimizer will scan your phone to find apps running in your memory. You can select individual apps to be cleared making your phone faster. You can make this process faster by whitelisting the apps that you don't want to be cleared. The next time you need to clear your cache, you can simply hit "clean" and all the apps that aren't on the whitelist will be closed.

Traffic Manager
Monitor the data used by each app to see which ones are using up the most of your 4G allowance. This section will also have the option to setup a portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
Harassment Filter
Harassment Filter is a very smart way to sort out all the incoming communication that you don't want. You can add phone numbers and contacts to the sms and call blacklist. Not only that but you can add keywords to be blocked as well. Any message sent to you with one of the blacklisted words will be blocked.
Head into the settings in the top right corner to adjust your notifications for the harassment filter. Your phone can be set to notify you every time a message or call is intercepted.
Notification center
The notification center gives you complete control over what apps are allowed to push notifications and where they're allowed to appear. Go to an app and toggle status bar, banner and lock screen to determine how the notifications for that app will show up. You can also assign "priority display" where a notification can interrupt whatever you're doing at the time.
App Lock
Set four digit passwords for specific apps. I've got a lock on my photos, hangouts and snapchat.
Protected Apps
When you turn your screen off, many apps are suspended to save battery time. When this happens, data will not push to these apps so many times you wont receive notifications from them. By default, many apps are already protected so they don't get suspended when the screen is off. Go into this menu to see what apps are on the list. Add or remove apps as you see fit.
There seems to be a much deeper depth in the phone manager than what i first expected. Thank you for the write-up. +1
Thank you for this in-depth explanation, much appreciated
Is there very similar app for the non Honor devices in playstore?
Is there any way to turn off the preview of text message content on home screen and notification pull down? I don't want to see the content until i choose to open it? I would still like be notified that received a message. I just want to get rid of the preview.
I have the default messaging app installed and when I follow: Messaging App > Menu > Settings > Notifications, the only options are Block, Silent, and Priority. There are no additional options and I don't see anything related to the preview.
This would be a setting in the texting app itself, not a system setting. You can disable the "preview" in the texting app and just get the notification only.

Don't ya just love dumb noob posters. Nearly always with a whinge too.
Had to Google whinge! You must be one our neighbors across the pond? Condolences on the recent tragedy to our British compadres.
No silly questions. Never know how tech familiar someone is.

Haha.
Google indeed. A pity more didn't do that before expecting to be spoon-fed.
And yes, I'm in Liverpool, 30 miles from Manchester.
Your support is appreciated, thank you.
How to hide msg content of all apps on the notification bar
Hi
I want to hide all previews for any notification I get on on my notification bar, be it text, email or whatsapp etc. I just want to see which apps have a new notification and how many new notifications. Many of the apps on the LG G6 do not have a 'PREVIEW' setting so I can't disable that within the apps themselves.
Thank you

Have you tried "partially" swiping to expose the settings for the notification?

Still doesn't help
Thanks skyfox99 for the response. Unfortunately, that doesn't help because that controls the notifications in its entirety. So changing the settings that way controls if I get the notification and what sorts of notification settings I get it with. I just want to hide the content that comes with each notification. So that it just says for e.g.. Whatsapp 3 new msgs from xyz
If anyone can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated!
Good morning fellows, now I am facing a problem:
EVEN I didn't set any alarm ON, there still a remind alarm icon on the status bar and lock screen , to tell me that an alarm is turned on , BUT, the alarm won't actually ring on. But that is really annoying, and will repeat and repeat to appear a new alarm reminder with different time.
I hv been searching a while on xda, and some threads came up conclusion that :
1)it maybe relate to some other apps using "alarm clock api" so the phone misunderstand that is a alarm setted
2)some apps hv reminders, and the phone recognized those reminders as alarms.
My phone is oneplus 6T, with oos 9.012
Thank you for reading and plz helpppppp
:crying::crying:
Same problem here and I know that it's not only us. A bit unnoying to not know what causes this strange behaviour. What is also odd is that this alarm time on lockscreen constantly changes and is usually some 10-20 minutes ahead of the actual time and totally off the time of an actual alarm. And if you turn the alarms off it's still there. Here:

You use any app with schedule? I use volume Butler to schedule the volumes/ringtones,etc
This usually is caused by 3rd party apps that use reminder or "time related" notification, scheduling whatsoever.
If you remember having 3rd party apps that use that kind of notification try to disable it.
Mine was DND profile from plusbeat
Apparently "these" apps use alarmAPI, so oxygen os cannot kill this process while no alarm was set, so it re occurs at a predetermined time, depending on that 3rd party app command
Maybe it is a bug, but have you tried updating to .15? I haven't experienced this issue even before updating though

Thanks for the help. Uninstalling plusbeat fixed it for me. This was driving me crazy.
