Weird problem but my phone has a screen that shows a distorted display or sometimes just speckles of random color. It seems the problem mainly occurs when the phone has a SIM in, gets hot, or maybe humid.
I ran stress tests on CPU and GPU for hours with no sim and it worked perfect. Then I put the sim in and later the display went crazy (this is not a touch screen issue). Then I took sim out and it went back to normal. I thought I fixed it by blowing out sim slot, but then the problem reoccurred. I had to take off back of phone (while it was on) and it was immediately rectified. It makes me think that something is getting pressed down too hard. I tried disconnecting the video cable and reconnecting it to see if that will fix it, but this particular phone has not been opened since the factory so it seems weird that it would suddenly get a loose cable.
Any ideas appreciated. I would like to fix it.

Had this issues after replacing my display!
Antenna cable is near the display eletronic parts in the lower part of the phone, near the usb connector, you've to put a tape on the eletronic, or you'll ever have this interferences when you use the antenna! (Antenna is the grey cable), display elettronic parts are a little square, betwen battery and USB connector, and have the grey antenna cable on them beacouse the antenna connector is near in this part of the phone! Sorry for my bad english, hope this help you!

I haven't replaced the screen on this phone, but when I took off the bottom piece the connector just fell of lower control board. I snapped it back in and we will see. Maybe it simply got loosened somehow by shaking etc... Hopefully that rectifies the issue. Thanks. I was going to swap the lower board (I already swapped upper one) but maybe I can avoid that now.

It was the lower connector like was said earlier in the post. I had already swapped the upper board with the other phone and the problem continued, when I went to mess with the lower board the connector was loose and upon tightening it down it started to work. I have had an instant of glitch two times in the long period since then, but it goes away immediately. It seems the connector need glued down or something who knows. I am happy though it is working well enough to last me until something comes along that makes me want a new phone.

Hello.
I was working outside for more than 8h and at that time phone was lying in the sports bag covered with some clothes. When I turned it on the battery temp. widget showed 5 degrees Celsius (in fact it was cold).
The first problem was the screen - it showed some artifacts, random RGB pixellation when waking up and while writing SMS screen just froze and only touchscreen worked, had to turn the screen off and back on to get it work.
After warming the phone to 20 degrees the screen started to work properly with no problems but 1 hour ago something started to piss me off. Touchscreen started to self-detects touch points even when I don't touch the screen. It appeared for the first when I slightly pressed "delete character" button (I use better keyboard 8). That maked touch screen to work horribly and pressing random keys near delete, 3 or 5 times per sec for a second or two...
I've already tried factory reset and even reflashing the ROM (stock nordic 2.3.4) but the problem is still occuring.
Any advice? ...
Common problem with no apparent fix.
A way you can make it better is to install Swype, which is how I've got around the same problem on my phone.
I get it in the morning after sleeping in my 24 degrees room everynight...
Normally have to bring it out of my room for 5 minutes or so and allow it to function again.. If not a restart normally works..
Phone works fine if im using it while the aircon is on though, presumably because the phone is generating heat to counteract the cold ._.
Yesterday I got pissed off, grabbed the phone and started to heat it with hair dryer and then polished it with a cloth and everything is right with the touchscreen (maybe there was some dried sweat on the screen I know some guys who had this problem and sweat was the one who caused it).
But random pixellation and screen freezes are back. I think the problem is with the screens' ribbon cable because sometimes when I slide my phone it freezes for a few secs. I remember I've slided the phone when it was very cold, maybe something wrong happened with the ribbon cable. I have to disassemble the phone and check it out.
Sounds like a trace amount of water damage perhaps from condensation while in your bag.

The problem was with the flex cable connecting down part of the phone with the upper part. It's partially broken, probably it happened because of cold wires and my sliding.
This ribbon connects everything from the upper part (LCD, camera etc.) so it needs to be replaced. I'm gonna see if any of my towns' repair centers are able to fix it.
edit: Professional diagnosis:
Interrupted flex cable connecting upper part with the bottom part - two most left pins broken, screen shows constant "random RGB pixellation".
Bringed my XPLAY to the authorized SE repair center and waiting for the ppl there to fix my beauty...
ribbon that connects everything from the upper part to the lower part? do you mean the long and wide ribbon that is kinda folded when you open your phone? IS IT? jeez that's my problem, too. I haven't been using my phone for more than a week now.
I recently replaced the digitizer on a Galaxy Tab 4 & that part at least went smoothly. The problem now is that the tablet will only turn on while it's plugged in... and when it does come on, it displays the msg "Unable to charge. Battery temperature too low." Yes, too low.. not too high.
I've tried re-connecting the battery, letting the tablet sit for an hour & even took the battery out and applied some heat to it with my heat gun(from a distance).
Does anyone know for sure what's causing this?
You must've have disconnected a cable or damged one when you replaced the digitizer. Check back

I thought of that also... I had disassembled it again & checked all the connectors. Everything looked ok & after assembling everything again, re-connected everything(again) just to make sure.
Oddly, I have seen posts of people having the same issue with different devices. Most of them never had the problem solved(just had the device replaced).

althought this isn't a very popular post, I'd like to add my 2 cents, because I had this same situation.
I ran into this same problem, after changing the digitizer and reassembled the device, had the low temp problem. I've noticed too that the glass was a little loose, and if tapping it in some places, the problem solved for seconds, so I dissasembled it again and foud that forgot to put the adhesive between the digitizer and the tablet...... :silly:
The adhesive was still in the old broken glass.
Changed back to the new one, assembled again now WITH the adhesive and the glass, reseated all the connectors in the back (just in case) , and boom, it's charging again like new.
Still haven't assembled the back plastic cover yet, but I guess the result will be the same.
I don't exactly know if the problem was the loose glass or some loose connector (all seemed to be ok), but the problem solved.

Hey guys.
Basically I've recently replaced my whole screen assembly on my Nexus, but it turns off after a few seconds when it's not on charge.
Sometimes it'll last about a minute but will instantly turn off. I've tried a factory reset and it still does the same thing.
I've bought a replacement battery, just making sure that there's nothing else wrong with the phone? any advice etc would be appreciated.

If it started after you replaced the screen, then its likely that something isn't seated properly on the inside. I changed my screen too, so have a look at the battery connector and the connector that connects the bottom board (the one with the charger port) to the top one.

In that case it probably is the battery. New one should fix it.
I don't know if this is the right section, anyway because it isn't specifically hardware related I posted here... for admins feel free to move in the appropriate thread.
My G2 dropped on the floor and as result I got a complete broken display plus not working touch.
The device, touch apart, worked without issues so as 1st step I made a full backup of sd-like content (music, pictures, etc...) to my laptop.
note: even if touch didn't work I was able to access the device trough adb and a very useful utility (http://marian.schedenig.name/2014/07/03/remote-control-your-android-phone-through-adb/)
Next I ordered a replacement for the display, looked for instructions and changed by myself... and the phone didn't boot or even charge... nothing, the only signal of life was when attached to the wall charger the led blinking in red eight (8) times consecutively then no blink for a second and again blink for 8 times and so on in an infinite loop.
Of course I started to look for solution and tried every kind of combination but none worked.
I started to think that I missed up something during the display replacement or the battery fault or even I fried in some way the motherboard, anyway for what I read it supposed that could be that the battery gone under certain voltage or minimal charge so the motherboard circuit didn't recognize as "good or safe battery", it is simply bypassed by charge circuit.
note: I waited for the new display about 10 days and the device (fully charged) slept (turned off) in a drawer so I don't think it was totally discharged
I disassembled and reassembled again the device but nothing happened so while looking for a solution I saw a video on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZwknmWCmOE) solving a issue similar to mine so as instructions I took an old charger (800ma), cut the charger connector and exposed the 2 internal wires (one red and the other gray/black).
Then I opened the device, disconnected the battery and attached directly into the battery connector the two charger wires (in this way mobile motherboard is bypassed).
I used a small piece of tape to stop and make touch laterally the 2 wires to the connector, something like: dark wire -> [ battery connector] <- red wire
Keep in mind that the connector is something very small like (0) where left parenthesis is for dark wire and right parenthesis for the red one.
note: you can't wrong with wires, because the positive (on the battery connector) has a small white triangle.
Of course I found a way to don't move/mess wires before connecting the wall charger... I put another piece of tape at 20cm on the table to keep the cable charger fixed near the phone, then I attached the wall charger...
remember: attach the charger to the wall ONLY when you have finished to place/fix the contacts!
Waited just 1 minute because exposed charger wires was very close and didn't want to fry something... but it was enough!!
Reconnected the battery and voilà the phone turned on!
The phone turned on with almost 80% of charge, all seemed to work... except that I found 2 issues... I suppose because the case didn't match perfectly anymore (I opened the device 4 times and disassembled-reassembled twice)
1st speaker didn't work, so I reopened the device and checked the speaker connector, I discovered that the speaker didn't touch very well so I put a small stripe of tape under the connector (the small vertical green stripe in the lower side of the phone) to lift it and making touch stronger with the speaker module (the black part the come out), here on Youtube for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XE2FPmFUrQQ
2nd GPS didn't work very well (discovered after a couple of days) so I reopened the device and applied this solution that worked perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfS4LpfcLfg
This is my story in the hope to help someone, if you have apparently a total dead phone and the only signal of life is a 8 times blinking red light... now you know what to do!

You mentioned the alignment of the phone wasn't the same as before....
Did your battery swell or change shape at all during this process?
If so could be a sign its on its way out and needs replacement.
A dying G2 lithium ion battery changes physical shape and completely alters the internal alignment of your components.
May be worth an extra 10.00 to replace your battery at this point with a new one

I understand what you mean but no I don't think so... it seemed the same size
anyway battery has less than 1 year of life and never showed symptoms or bad behavior, right now is running as before... I can pass easily 24h without recharge

I checked and found nothing in particular... just a bit near the sim "area", but it seems just a sort of plastic adaptation... as mentioned before I opened, disassembled, reassembled and then closed it 4-5 times (in just few days)
I have a problem with my Axon 7 (global). Ive decided to change battery on my own one week ago. I was super carefoul with every step i did, no cracks, no damage. I assembled everything togeather and suddenly no signal. Wifi worked perfectly. Now i have this often signal looses which persists even after reboot. Sometimes when I finally catch signal it shows me almost full 4g+, but on the other hand everythig works very sluggish. Super slow internet speeds, even for messeging via whats app for example. I tried to check if this is maybe some software issue. I was on global B03. I could not update to B04 via ota so i decided to downgrade, then install b04. I did, and this solved nothing. Problem persists and phone without wifi is unusable :/ Any ideas how to solve this?:crying:

I also replaced my battery. The battery behaviour is now normal again but seen no differences in how it runs.
I think that it's not that, I've payed extra attention to this second time that I opened phone. All the connectors I've unplugged, then plugged it again, checked antenna as well. No visable damage to the cable or the connectors.
Thinking about my experience doing the battery, the two most difficult or potentially damaging things were separating the rear cover from it and getting the battery out. Once the cover separated it came off well. It was a hard job getting down under it. The battery was hard to start lifting but with isopropyl alcohol under it, It came up easier the more it was lifted. Maybe something around the battery has been compromised.
Thank you for your response. I did not use alcohol to remove battery, i used hairdryer, and i began to remove battery from other side (the one with antenna). Maybe i burned antenna? Is it possible? Sryly no visible damage, nothing! Everything else works. BT, Wifi, all functions - only signal problem. Any idea what part should i change? I also founded some info in iOS forum somewhere, supposedly iPhone 6 or 7 had similar issue when someone changed battery. They suggested to unplug battery and hold every button for 30-60 seconds, one after another, to "discharge components" or something. I dunno :/

I ordered from Ali only antenna, should i order charging board as well? Anyway, why charging board? Is there some important components that i could have damage? Why not motherboard as well? Antenna is connecting charging and motherboard together. Just wanna know why do you think that i should change charging board as well, maybe Ill learn something new
