Really simple question - M.O.J.O. General

Will I be able to use a USB M-M Bridge cable to root a M.O.J.O?

I believe so

I believe so based on the original rooting instructions. Some people (including myself) have use a non-cable app method to root.

Yes, that's how I rooted mine, installed CM12 and custom recovery.

Root Glacier without USB

So I got myself a Mytouch 4g without a working USB port and I'm looking for a way to root it. I've found a couple guides that use Visionary but in Settings>About>Software Info the software number I'm on is 2.32.5.
Again my usb port doesnt work and I cant downgrade without ADB. I've tried to ADB over wireless but all the apps need root as well as this Terminal method I found
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1685736
Android version is the important one, not software version. If you're on 2.3.4, you can't root without adb. If your USB port doesn't work, you can't use adb.

Yeah sorry I am on 2.3.4
I guess Im stuck then. Do you know if getting a new motherboard for the phone (with a working port) would fix the issue?

You need a pc to unlock the bootloader. You can do it from Linux on a Chromebook.

Don't use a toolkit, geez. I have a guide here:

Any particular reason to use your guide versus a toolkit? Other than to prove my worthiness by being capable of executing adb and fastboot commands?

Because as long as you have ADB and a terminal you can do anything without worrying about app updates or compatibility

Though I haven't used it yet on my 6p, I believe you could use Flashfire to do what you need. Flashfire is kinda a recovery in itself, so you can flash roms, kernnels, take/restore backups, and flash root.

If you are on OFFICIAL oos3.6.1 you can first try this method in android terminal emulator (from playstore, no idea if this works, cant test as i don't use oos anymore) and then install recovery this way
It is risky but it is an idea. If you'd rather have a phone without root and recovery than an expensive paperweight and you feel unsure, don't try it.
edit: btw, did you try cleaning your usb c port? i couldn't even charge op2 bcs there was so much dust in it. After cleaning with a small/flat toothpick it works as new.

Yes, this is right, it only works with root permissions in terminal emulator... didn't think about that sry.
Try using kingoroot apk, if it does not work you can (or cannot--> u have to try) downgrade to oldest oos avaiable and try kingoroot again.
If nothing works i'm out of ideas.
You can use ADB over network if you have access to Wi-Fi

i will see if i can to do something using termix
it is way more powerfull that other terminal emulators
I had the same problem. The only solution I found after months of thinking was to change the USB flex cable inside the phone. It's really really easy and costs like 10 euros on ebay. Then I connected it to my PC and rooted it. I think there is no other way

No. It has to be flashed either by Odin or Heimdall. There is an app in PlayStore but it is no longer supported and doesn't work on newer devices or current Android versions.
