While I was browsing through Verizon's website, I found the turbo sold on $460 wiz no contract and as I am seeing horrible battery life on the x pure, I was wondering what's everyone's battery life on a newly purchased device? I understand it will be running Lollipop so interested in that.
It's pretty great battery life, last I looked was at 6hr SOT, the thing is I have a turbo charger in my car so I have no idea what current SOT is because I am rarely below 50% battery. I would go with the X Pure mainly because it's not locked down, there is no BL unlock for this, or even root, so things like Greenify don't work very well.
I have a Verizon Droid Turbo with Lollipop, and I generally get about 18 hours without a problem - that's with moderate use - connected all day to my Moto360 watch, only so-so signal for most of the day, an hour or two of screen-on time and about an hour of talk. Note that I would get double that if I was in an area where the cell signal was strong.
Battery life is very good. I can work all day with droid turbo without any problem.

I can get around 4hrs SOT over 2 days of usage. Some weekends when I'm most of the time in home, I don't charge the phone at all from Friday to Sunday night.
I have everything enabled and synced, GPS on High Accuracy, 3 mail accounts, Twitter, G+, WhatsApp, etc.
If I disable Google Play Services background data (huge battery drain on Lollipop) I'm able to get 3 days and around the same SOT, more info here:

really 3 days?!! i have seen that only on a sony z3 .wow. thanks man.
waiting for more feedback
I can pretty regularly skip a night of charging with my BN/64gb on 5.1. WiFi is nearly always on, screen usually is set to about 1/6 brightness on the slider. I have a turbo charger in the car and the wall charger that was included originally, so I'm never really too far from being able to reload the juice. I typically don't plug in until i get down to about 15-20% and I generally try to only plug it in when I can allow it to sit for a bit and get full charge or close to it.
I Use my phone pretty heavily. on a weekday I can make nearly two days on a charge, weekend one day. No idea screen on time sorry,
Sent from my GT-P3110 using XDA Free mobile app
I have had mine since before Thanksgiving 2014. I waited over a month to upgrade to Lollipop. I have Wifi, Bluetooth, on all day long. I have 4 active Gmail account I go on regularly (I have more synced but not a daily go to account). I
My average is 7 hours with 3 hours SoT. I consider myself a power user. I also have multiple chargers including QC 2.0 ones I'm the car and at home. I don't charge until 30% or if I am going out I charge at 50% to almost full
Sent using my Verizon Turbo charged 64GB Ballistic Nylon phone unfortunately with a case on back
To add my $.02 in. I have 2 gmail accounts and considered myself a moderate user (had the original Maxx before which used to finish the day in the 60% range). With my original Turbo post-Lollipop I was seeing about 16-18 hours per day and even on low use weekends I wasn't seeing a full 24 hours out of it. I contacted Moto support and they agreed that was too low and sent me a new phone last week. So far the last couple of days with normal use I'm back up to 24+ projected hours and was seeing 36-48 projections over the weekend.
My first turbo, which I bought the monday after thanksgiving 2014, on kit kat, would easily last 2 days. basically, I would charge it every other day, putting it on the charger with around 20% still left. i had to replace it for a screen replacement about 2 months ago. I got it with 4.4.4, I bought mofo for a second time and rooted it, and have been running CF's LP roms since. I dont know if it's the new phone / battery or lollipop but I typically can get 18 or so hours on a 100% charge, but i get to a stressful < 10% with normal use. I noticed that when I restrict background mobile data for Google services, my battery life does improve by around 5% or so.
Edit: Also, that's with around 4 hours screen time, FYI

Can any of you dudes that have the phone comment on your experiences with battery life? I'd imagine it would be pretty decent because of the smaller display size and lower cpu frequency, but I've read some reviews that it's mediocre.
Anyone have it last longer than a day on a full charge?
the battery life is better than the backflip I can say that much, but I dont think it will make it 12 hours without being recharged. I actually dont use the voice services that much either.
I would like it even more if the battery at least lasted thru the day.
MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT... the speaker on this phone SUCKS!!!!!!!!! it's a shame, I really REALLY love this phone.

Man, not even 12 hours? I'd hate to see what the battery life on an Evo 4g is like. Is it just because of the 1200mAh battery or is this something inherent to Android?
6 hrs 57 mins talk time. frm real world testing.
i read a review on pcmag web page and the reviewer test the battery life and said it got 7 hours talk time. in real world testing. so its as good as smart phones get. better than a iphone or any other android phone thats out.
Batter Life is GOOD!
Ok....I am new to the android universe as the Aria is my first android phone. However in response to batter life it is really good. I have a friend who has the EVO can can only go about 5 - 6 hours before charging.
I turned the screen brightness on my Aria down to about 30% and I yesterday I went through an entire day of work (messing with the phone a lil) then went home and messed with it for a good amount of time (1 1/2 hrs). When i went to charge it that night it had 35% battery life left.
Today I left at 7:30 am and it is now 3:30 pm and the batter says it is full. Now this isn't a percentage app or anything but the batter on the phone says full. Granted i only have 2G where I live (Edge) and I am not using wifi or anything, plus i haven't messed around with the phone too much today, but that is pretty darn good if you ask me.
Here's what I used mine for yesterday:
Off charger at 7a.m.
During day I estimate that I used:
20 min voice, 25 or so sms, several trips and comments on Engadget, a dozen or more FB app uses, downloaded 2 entire songs via 3G, 15 min of browsing. Multiple email accts, fb and twitter accts syncing throughout the day.
When I left work at 6p.m. I was at 47% according to battery app. After some app downloads and a little surfing, 25 min of voice calls later it was at 25% when I went to bed at Midnight.
It's better than my Pre Plus and better than the Backflip for sure. I'd say that if you're a heavy user you may want a car charger and/or an extra wall charger to be on the safe side. I'd say that for any modern Smartphone though. I'm very happy with it, myself.

My experience is near identical to this.
As for today it left the charger at 9AM, only 10 or so texts today, on standby the rest of the time and it still says 100%
Hmm.. I guess it's highly dependent on how you use your device and how often you have it sync with online services.
yeah, i find it hard to believe some of these numbers. I don't use my phone much for voice. I dont use wifi or bluetooth, i will trigger the gps, and maybe my screen is too bright, I do about 20-30 text messages and yes, some downloading. I get a pretty good signal where I live so I dont think my battery is being eaten up by the radio searching and trying to connect to towers. I'm serious, if I get 7 hours out of this thing I would be super pleased.
I used to this though, I have had many smartphones over the year.. i just need to purchase all new accessories to keep the device charged as much as possible. ( additional charger, car charger..)
The battery life is not as good as my tilt2..but blows the backflip (i owned for about 3 weeks) in the water.
I think the battery life is just as good or moderately better than most smart phones. Vs the 3Gs I think it's slightly better, Vs the backflip I had for a week, it's way better IMO.
Just placed an order. Hey as long as it's better than my G1. I'm happier than a pig in mud! G1 is the worst when it comes to battery life.
Battery seems to be good. I charge my phone at work while it is on. I'm running pandora constantly at work as well. Yesturday i left work and was playing with the phone from around 6-11, using wifi, 3g, bluetooth, some gps, screen on the whole time, multiple apps open, downloaded a lot of stuff, syncing on for weather, gmail, contacts, news, facebook, and a whole bunch of other stuff. That brought the battery from 100% to 24%. I then killed all tasks that weren't needed, turned off all radios except phone and 3g, and let it sit overnight. It only dropped to 23% by 6:30am.
It seems to do really well with normal use. With heavy use the battry falls, just like any smartphone.
my battery lasted all day yesterday with what i would consider pretty heavy usage. i'm very pleased with the battery so far.
I've has mine since SUnday- now wednesday and the battery is HORRID for me.
I pull it off the charger @ 6am, and now its 12 noon and i have 40% left. I don't get on Facebook much til after 4pm, Use iMobsters sporadically for short amts of time, MAY browse the web if a page is blocked @ work, but that's it. Dont talk on it here @ work.
I dont get it!! I changed my screen brightness???

are you using a bunch of widgets on your home screens?
Mine came off of charger at about 7am and it's now at 72% at 9pm. I didn't use it much today as I was busy at work, but it's still checks my email, fb and twitter throughout the day. I do have the Friendstream widget up as well. Overall I'm good with the battery on mine.
My brightness is set right in the middle with auto brightness turned off.
battery life is pretty descent coming from an HTC Tilt 2. especially with 3g constantly on. i pretty much got similar battery life as the Tilt 2 (without 3g on..3g ate through the battery like a cop with a doughnut). i'd estimate you could probably last 18-20hrs if there was some way to turn 3g off...that includes wifi off, gps off, and auto backlight dimming off.
Advanced Task Killer also helps extend the battery life.
gotta say for how snappy it is, the clarity of the screen, and no lagging..this compact smartphone with it's smaller than typical smartphone battery packs some punch. VERY happy with the upgrade to Android
I wonder if there'll be an extended battery for this thing that doesn't require an enlarged back. I remember my Tilt had something upwards of like 1800mAh that was the same size as the stock battery.

i only have a few that run on the homescreen other than the ones that were pre-installed there.
If you plan on using the phone for anything other than an occasional phone call, you will need to charge it at least once before the end of the day. I just got mine a few days ago, so I've been spending a lot of time toying with it, listening to pandora, downloading apps etc... It's almost 3pm and I'm at 30%. I had the gps on while I played 18 on Sunday, used it with freecaddie for a half decent rangefinder. It made it through the round, about 5 hours. I had to charge it when I got home, battery was at 15%. I think it's fairly typical for a smartphone, a spare micro-usb cable at the office and in the car are certainly going to be a necessity if you are a heavy user.
Does anyone agree that the battery life for Samsung Focus is really short?
I use my phone to check emails, browse websites and listen to music during lunch, dinner and on the road. The total hands on time per day is roughly 2hrs. But if I only charge it overnight, not anytime else, it only last until right after dinner.
It unacceptably short comparing to my ex-phone, HTC Touch Pro2.
Anyone experiencing the same thing?
Who should take care of this issue? Samsung or Microsoft?
My phone on moderate use will last me 1.5-2 days but I usually charge it at the end of the night regardless. In the first couple of days I did notice that the battery would drain pretty fast but seemed to get better after that.
Mine will typically go from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or so while still having the battery indicator having something inside. That's with it being used all day as an mp3 player, triaging email, web surfing, and Twitter.
When you get a new phone the battery has to go through a couple of cycles charging for the phone to calibrate. Also, keep in mind things that drain battery: light theme, streaming, basically downloading massive amounts of data. Make you sure you discharge your battery to about 10% and fully charge your battery a couple of times. Try not to go below 10% not good for battery. Make sure you are using wall adapter ac to charge. Charging from a pc is very slow and generally doesn't fully charge unless you leave it plugged for a LONG time.
Light use I'd say 1.5 days
Moderate 1 full day
Heavy use 7-8 hours
With light use i get about 4 to 5 days, heavy use i get about a day or two. Check to see if you have location services (GPS) running, wifi, etc as the more parasitic things you can turn off the better the battery life of course.
Mine lasts all day for me. A long 16+ hour day with moderate usage leaves me at about 30-35% battery. I keep Wi-Fi turned off and bluetooth always on. Not bad for a smart phone. I've seen phones far worse than this (Sprint Epic anyone?).
My battery last abour 8 - 9 hours, and I'm running for a outlet by then. But I'm a heavy user. Bt headphones with the music playing, twitter constantly, facebook, text, email, IE..., pretty much all of those 8 - 9 hours.
I have just about everything that I can find turned on, and have been using my new toy as much as possible. With that, I'm having to charge about twice a day, which is roughly where I was at with my Tilt2. Your battery drainage really sounds like it's normal, and likely related entirely to how much crap you have turned on and running in the background. The biggest drainer of the battery in any phone is gonna be the radio, so if you want to improve battery life, turn off stuff that connects to the network and set your email/weather/tweets/facebook to refresh much less often. Select "as items arrive" for your hotmail and Gmail so that they push instead of pull. Check your basics first before trying to find a customer service rep to chew out.
I'm happy with my battery life. I just charge it every night like I have every phone Ive owned. I use my phones as my morning alarm clock. I have all location services active, and i activate WiFi when usable. At work I leave it plugged in to stream music and podcast.
Coming from Android and Droid Incredible, the Focus is awesome on battery. I have no problem lasting the full day. I charge my phone each night overnight.
It's a mixed bag for me. the first few days when I was just getting to know it, making calls and just goofing around with basic functionality the battery was lasting very long and things were looking great.
Once I started using the data and other apps, the battery drains very fast IMO. I mean play a 2D game for half an hour and I won’t make it through the day.
Right now I’m not digging it that if I’m out and about I feel like I need to avoid using the phone like I would like to.
I’m really looking forward to being able to do things like being able to easily disable 3g.
I'm most certainly happy with my battery life. After using a nexus one, xperia x10 and the galaxy s I have nothing to complain about with the focus....just lovin wp7 at the moment.

Games are always battery killers, especially on AMOLED screens that tend to get the best battery life with black interfaces, since they actually don't light the pixels up if they're supposed to be black.
Coming from an iPhone 4 i can't complain. Battery on that was amazing. The focus doesn't Last at long but I can't say im disappointed. It's actually better than expected.
It is normal for the battery to die after browsing the internet for about 3-4 hours?? Not happy about that.
Battery life
It depends on how the phone has been used. Screen is the biggest power drain, than the radio (3G data, WiFI, location services).
With all on and moderate usage (gaming for 30 mins, a few calls, and playing with the phone for an hour) I get about 12 -13 hours.
With all off and a few TXT and calls (about 10 -12) I get about 76 hours.
Not bad I guess.
This phone is better than iPhone 3GS.

I use my Focus heavily for reading texts off of PDFs and browse the internet using WiFi most of the day, and in my free times I listen to music so I use it quite heavily. Yesterday I ran it through my routine day and got about 14-15 hours of full operational time from 100% charge as I took off from my dormitory to university to 0% half-way back to my dorm. My only problem is the length of time it has to be plugged in to charge. Its pretty slow, but that may be because of the large battery capacity to begin with.
the battery life is just OK, hopefully like with other cellphone updates maybe battery life will be improved at least somewhat, we can hope....
I have two of these things. Mine I use a lot and while the battery lasts less than my old 3GS, I am getting used to it and end up keeping hooked up to a charger pretty often.
My wife's on the other hand is baffling. She hardly uses the thing, maybe a call every day or two. For a while there we were getting about 3 days from a charge and then it would still have around 30%-50% left.
Now in the last few days, it drains the battery completely overnight. And I mean completely its totally shut down and dead. That’s with wifi and Bluetooth off and virtually no usage. Not sure what is happening, but this really sucks as now she can’t count on the thing to just be a phone without needing to be babied.
Boost mobile variant
too soon to tell for me as i just fully charged last night. so far though it seems its pretty decent.
Yea this was my first charge. So far for the battery I'm pretty happy with it.
On my first 50% out of the box charge, I got 5.5 SOT on WiFi.
Next day I got 5 houts SOT and had 8% left. Had whatlookec like Chrome wakelockz. Was awake nearly the whole time. Two nights in a row of no sleep on the charger too. Only charges up to97%, making it hard to get battery stats. Charged to full with the provided charger this am and is doing great. Guess my 3rxpary charger isn't spec's right for this guy
Currently at 76% battery, off charger for 6 hours, 1.5 SOT. Bought this guy as a backup phone to my LG G2 with a cracked screen. This gets way better battery life than it.
i think with custom roms and kernels this phone will be the best budget phone you can buy. i tested battery life and its not outstanding but its not bad either while on lte.
Over an hour video chatting, over an hour of phone calls. Four hours of web surfing. Misc other use. 17 hours off charger. 18% battery. I love this phone. Can't kill it unless you game like crazy.
Only thing is that I can't get battery stats because it seems like any charger other than official only charges to 97%. So my battery stats are about 3 weeks deep at this point.
Awesome battery duration reaches me for a full day with wifi always on display and 6 hours
Had mine for two weeks. Lte gsm unlocked. Battery life has been subpar on lte. Hopefully custom roms and kernels can fix this.
:good::good:
Got a Moto E2 (2015 version) and battery is holding fine enough when compared to the 1st version !!
Did pretty good yesterday. Was over 24 hours before I put on charger with 9% left around 11 PM. Just over 6 hours screen on time. LTE version.
mostly using plume, Instagram, app updates and a few videos on YouTube. (all on WiFi)
No SOT screenshots. Just yes or no answer. You can elaborate on your daily usage to give people an idea about how it does or does not allow you to get through the day.
If you used the phone normally for 10 days, and it failed to get you through your day for 1 of those 10days, your answer is still No. Exclude the days when you forgot to charge your phone.
PS: I use the words "normal" day. It means that you were not explicitly hell bent on killing the battery and hell bent on answering No here....
Absolutely. Normal usage for me is web browsing, social media, checking the forums, maybe a couple YouTube videos, email, texting and phone calls. I'll charge it up at 8pm, pull it off the charger around 9pm and be good to go until the next evening.
You'll get yes and no's. Everyone has a different uses each and every day. It could be yes one day, no the other. Yes for majority of the day or no. It all depends on what they're using it for that day.
If you're gauging to see if it would get you through the day, the only real true answer is for you to use it for yourself based on how you use it.

Pretty much my usage except mine comes off the charger in the morning. I've gone from a super heavy user in years past (ROMing and flashing all day long) to a light-average user. Texting, couple social media visits. A forum or two and maybe a video here and there. I could get 2 full days usage with this phone easily.
It's about on-par with my, recently sold, HTC One M9... And I'd say a little better than my sons Galaxy S6, which I had to use recently when between phones so I have a pretty good ideal of what it's battery life is like.
The MXP has really good standby time.... It usually drops about 1% per hour. Last night I forgot to plug it in and it only dropped 5% in about 7.5 hours.

mine lasts all day for me. Went to bed last night and had 34% i dont do allot of gaming mostly browse facebook or instagram send texts and stuff light stuff.
Yes! Couldn't do it with my Nexus 6, but definitely doable with this Moto X Pure. I do some light to moderate gaming on light/medium duty games (Battle Command, SimCity, Clash of Clans mainly), watch Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube, and do quite a bit of web browsing and texting with some calls. I'm typically left with ~22% at the end of the day when I'm headed to bed. I'll stream some more and by the time I get the 15% low battery warning, I'm already half asleep and it's time to sleep. My day typically goes from about 9 am to 11 pm.
Yes. I come off the charger at about 8am and it goes back on around 10-11pm. My day is spent in a delivery truck most times, so I use chrome to pull up addresses, and maps to see where I'm going. I don't normally use turn by turn, though. This usually accounts for about 1.5-2 hours of SOT. The rest of my 4ish hours is spent browsing with chrome and some email and YouTube. A little Facebook and Flipboard here and there also. WiFi, Bluetooth, data, all Moto Assist stuff is on except the lift to ear for voice commands and NFC. Since my day is spent mostly outside, and even though my brightness is around 20%, with adaptive turned on, the auto brightness still cranks it up to a readable level.
Happy with the battery life so far :good:

Yes. Got mine 6 days ago. Unplug at 4:30AM, 1 hour of music at the gym (bluetooth on 15 minutes to and from gym - 30 min total), about 3-3.5 hrs SOT and plug in at 10pm with about 15% left.

I can now give a good answer to this question. I have had the Samsung Galaxy S6 for 3 months. I barley
got through a day. This is with most options turned off. I sync exchange server for work, surf web, stream
satellite radio, BT connection to car, 50/50 wifi and cell connection, calls and txt all day.
With the Motto X Pure 2015 I have about 40% more power at days end than the SGS6. Typical day:
Off charger 6 AM, to 11 PM. SGS6 generally about 25%, Moto X around 35 - 40%. I haven't even begun to
start tweaking.
I can also say the Moto X is smoother than the SGS6 even though the processor is a little less than
the Moto X. Its the Touchwiz that kills it. Pure Android is heaven!

I know for a fact that more than 25 people have had this phone for 1 week (or even more). Where are you folks? Please vote.
Mine gets me through a typical workday. I only use about 1 hrs SOT throughout the day, and have about 60% left after 8 hours. As soon as I start using this at night, I probably only last until about 9 or 10, ending w/ about 3-3 1/2 hrs SOT...

You have to select "yes" or "no" in the poll. The reply is not needed unless you want to describe your usage.
Hey guys
I've had my Sony Xperia Z3 for just over a year now and im considering my next phone purchase. I really enticed by purchasing a S6 Edge+ HOWEVER battery life is the only thing stopping me.
The Z3 battery life easily lasts for two days without me ever worrying about the battery life. I know Lollipop has a mobile radio bug in it which would effect the edge plus but im wondering would two days use ever be possible on the Edge+? I normally get around 6 hours SOT over two days with my Z3 and don't want to be let down too much with my next phone.
I have the same situation... just came from a Z3. Got my edge+ a week ago and, tbh, batt life is way worse, but I am starting to think that I have a faulty cellphone. I am getting around 10h of batt, even after debloating it and using Pixel OFF.
otoh, there are lots of threads running right now, discussing batt life and most people say that it is pretty good.
It's been 5 nights and I complsin it drains 1% per hour.

That´s exactly what I am getting. Are you using Pixel OFF?
Edit: sorry, wrong math. I am getting 10% an hour. I am getting 10h of batt per day on avg 1% an hour would be wonderland for me.
Hold on, I am talking about overnight drain, when phone is idle for 6 hours, screen off, only side clock, 4g wifi location sync on

Hmm so you basically only get a day's use of the phone on average?
It depends how I use it...
Can't tell as my usage is not regular
For sure not 10% per hour with a normal use
But I'm 90% debloated
i find it good, im not yet rooted but after i am whenever i can manage to actually do it i estimate it will be even better, but in general it's all about your usage, you'll definitely get a day out of medium/heavy usage.
do yourself a favor and buy a Aukey plus, ultra fast charging.

I also had Z3 and lasting morning to evening looks pretty much the same, on both i was getting around 5-6h SOT. But considering 2 days Z3 will also give around 5h+ SOT, but Edge+ idk maybe around 3-4h because of how much standby drains the battery.

I think the biggest idle killer is the mobile radio bug in lollipop, as there is no KK for the S6 Edge plus, looks like im going to stick with the Z3 for now till Marshmellow comes out.
I have more than 5 hours sot and almost 2 days without charging and 19% left. I''m very satisfied. Stock and root is pretty the same.
WhatsApp, candy crush, Internet, YouTube and more of that stuff. Imo no need to worry about battery.
2 days for me too. Wifi on all the time, Screen contrast automatic, Bluetouth off all the time (I don't use it for the moment), Some settings here and there I found in various articles (like smart network off, I use the RAM tools to automatically shot-down most of the apps...)
One day
One day ( 16 hours , By night battery down to 10 %)with normal usage. SOT around 5 hours.
BT off all time. 4g around 7 hours , Rest on Wifi.

Wow really? im shocked i havent read that was possible in any reviews i've seen. Could you provide screenshots of your battery stats? If two days is realistic and easy to achieve then i may possible jump to the Edge plus boat.
Mine wont even last 6 hours without draining. Bluetooth on, 4G on, backlight on auto. What's the point in having a high tech phone if you stunt it's features? I just charge at least twice or thrice a day but admittedly, I do miss the battery life of my last phone (iphone 6 plus) coz it really could last a whole day with the same features on.

the original charger isnt anywhere near as fast as charging as the Aukey is, even thge usb cable that came with the Aukey is better than the one that came with the phone.
I dont think i will ever see 2 days. I use Bluetooth all day (synced to my Gear S), GPS is always on, autobrightness, etc. I can get through one day for sure, maybe half of the next day, but thats about it. Thats not using any kind of powersaving modes either. Its as good, or better than my note 4 with NONE of the damn problems (camera and HORRIBLE GPS), so i'll take it. Plus i have quick chargers everywhere...home, car, and an extra one.
I was very nervous switching to a sealed battery and no SD card support, but the 64gb is fine and the battery charges SUPER f'in quick
