Pokemon Go on OPO

Are you playing it on your phone?
Want to know how to get around the root?
Do you have a good advice? Do you need one?
Please share it here instead of filling the development forums. Thanks
(My contribution? This thread!)
Been playing until Niantic decided to block root users. People use Magisk to bypass the hurdle but it's too much hassle for me.
CM using the built in root. "ISU" app plus kernel patch (can be found XDA). Works great.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
On my stock rooted cos13.1.2 i used thes steps. I started at step 3 as 2 wasnt relevant for me.
- Step one (Optional, but highly recommended): Take a nandroid backup. (A full backup of your phone)
- Step two: Uninstall Magisk, Xposed or any program that gets detected by safety net.
- Step three: Flash SuperSU SR5 v2.78 in TWRP
- Step four: Go to TWRP Terminal (TWRP Home > Advanced > Terminal) and type: echo "SYSTEMLESS=true" > /data/.supersu
- Step Five: Flash SuHide v0.55
- Step Six: Flash Systemless Xposed v86.2
- Step Seven: Reboot and Install Root Switch. Unzip the file and install the apk. Once installed, make sure to toggle usb debugging on, within the app.
- Step Eight: Install Xposed Material Manager

If you don't need root, you can install this one via recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63615067
It is just a little script, which removes all files and traces of the most common root-versions (SuperSU, phh's, ...).
It was that simple for me, after I tried bypassing Safetynet without success on CM14.1 for hours, although I don't need root at all xD

Snapchat Root workaround

I just found a workaround to login to snapchat and other apps that wont let you login while rooted.
1. Install root switch https://mega.nz/#!hw1giCBb!EbAYtSs-KC2f_z6pW5nprvzd7rhCUFEAizAxHeFlueA
2. Phone may reboot after a few seconds.
3. Login to snapchat.
4. Open app and renable root.
5. Profit.
Sorry if it doesn't work for you but worked for me!
Be careful using this app. I had to change my su binary permissions back to 755 in order for any apps to request root again.
Here are the three methods I've used to get SC working on Rooted device.
1st Method Using TitaniumBackup (Explained for the SAMPWND Root)
1. Flash the rooted firmware
2. Download snapchat then login
3. Once logged in do the process of installing supersu
4. Once SuperSu is installed download titaniumbackup and backup snapchat and save the backup on a PC or external SD card(just to be safe)
5. Then complete part two of the root process.
6. Once finished install titaniumbackup, make sure the snapchat backup created earlier is in the titaniumbackup folder.
7. Finally restore snapchat.
You should be automatically logged in when you open the app. This process has worked for quite a long time and I just did this to my S8+.
2nd Method Uninstalling SuperSu
If you don't want to go through that process you can always uninstall supersu, download and login to snapchat, then reinstall supersu.
This is probably the easiest way but I'm a huge fan of uninstalling SuperSu.
3rd Method Using BlueStacks and TitaniumBackup (Last Resort)
This is the FINAL way I've found to get SC to work.
1. Install an android emulator like BlueStacks on a PC.
2. Download Snapchat and login on Bluestacks
3. Next root Bluestacks
4. Install titaniumbackup
5. Create backup of Snapchat
6. Transfer backup to already rooted phone
7. Once that is done restore SC with titaniumbackup on the rooted phone
I had to use this method on my old S7 because nothing else would work, it is definitely a LAST resort option lol.
*This is similar to the first method I posted, but with this way you can do it even when you have finished rooting your device*
Perfect i used the first method

Magisk (14.6) finally works!

The latest Magisk version (14.6) which has received quite a revamp thanks to @topjohnwu finally works easily and like a charm on our devices.
I'm running the stock rom with advanced stock kernel and haven't been able to get Magisk running.
Until now.
I gave it another shot after I had heard about the many changes in 14.6 and so installed the Magisk Manager again, flashed the zip and can now finally enjoy Pokemon GO on a rooted Z2.
Thought I'd share this
Edit: I have to dim my enthusiasm a little.
I could flawlessly install it and it marks it as installed. When apps ask for root permission, I can grant it and the apps recognize the root permission too ...
but something seems a little odd. my ES file explorer won't write in my root folder, Titanium won't uninstall system apps, and Greenify also doesn't work properly ...

could not remount /system

Guys, i am on stock os, 7.0 , recently flashed magisk for systemless root and when i tried to use app mover to move some apps to system, i get error as could not remount/system. Tried supersu root as well but same result, im a newbie here. please help Used both Vegito and Ex kernel too. but i get the error everytime. But root checker shows i have root.
You could try the Magisk module named "App Systemizer". It can convert user apps to system apps, but systemlessly.

Thanks, Is there a way to edit system files , like modifying host file ? It seems i have been using system root all these days. Is it still available ?

PRO6 PLUS Flyme 7.3 completely ROOT

After upgrading to flyme7, Meizu limits the full root privileges. After the system settings get root, installing supersu can't be used, and root privileges may be lost after reboot.
You can now get full root privileges by executing the script. You can get full root privileges by following the procedure below.
1. Required attachments: root script, MT toolbox
2. Restart after the system settings get root, install the MT toolbox, click the Root script.sh and execute it, agree to the MT toolbox to obtain root privileges, the script will automatically get the full ROOT, and then automatically restart.
3. After restarting, the SuperSU icon will appear on the desktop. After clicking enter, it will be used normally. The xposed framework can also be activated normally.

Good post. But from my experience with flyme, you are just fuc** flyme. Flyme is a heavily customized rom and it is not stable with xposing. You will understand as time goes.
Is it worth playing with this? What is the benefit of this script over the usual way getting root access on the phone?
In the case this is more useful, is there a link where it is directly downloadable? The link in the main post is just keep asking ti install an app instead of downloading the zip file. Could you please upload the script to where it can be easily downloaded and not require additional apps to install.
